Wow, I really did not expect this to end so quickly, although I am
rather happy I get a Draw instead of an elimination. Thanks to
everyone who played in this. I had a great time. Thanks especially to
Chris (Venice), for even after crippling me, letting me survive on one
center for as long as I did. Another big thank you too Wolf, who was
completely fair but also completely understanding throughout the whole

Given different circumstances, I would have voted No. I'm going crazy at work and finding it a little tough to keep 3 game strategies running in my mind. That being said, I can't believe that everyone else also voted Yes. Only *1* Elimination??? We should have just declared peace at the start.
Overall, this was a fun game and made me realize how much diplomacy can really sway opinions. Jason and I played a great alliance, and we faced some very tough competition in Venice and Turkey. Very well played in the board center!
Finally, Congrats to the only winner of our little game: Rodrigo, who goes home with a new baby!

I'd like to congratulate Rodrigo on his beautiful baby girl. I'm glad you were all willing to wait while he got his home life in order. Of course, I would have held things anyway, as I know how crazy things get when you bring a new member of the family home.
On to game news: The ERV draw fails by two votes, and we move on with the action. Standoffs on either side of the board flank the action in the middle, where England and Venice both make positional advances. We have no retreats, however, so it's right on to winter!

Hi All,Sorry for the delay and thanks for putting the game on hold on my account, or should i say the baby's. Last Sunday we did indeed deliver a baby girl and life became very crazy since.
The heiress to the Spanish throne, Alexandra (see pic), is doing great, in between crying, and has given me the go ahead to continue playing.
I will send my moves in by tonight or first thing tomorrow morning as I was just catching up on emails.

I'm sorry to say that Jason didn't get me a retreat order. Therefore, the army has been disbanded, per the rules of Diplomacy. I had a bit of heartache over this decision, since I usually auto-retreat any unit having only one on-board option. However, after reviewing my personal history, I noticed that I always require retreats, even from one-option situations, if there are multiple players owing retreats. Sorry, Jason. Oh crap. That's annoying. Sorry folks. There's been more stuff going on this holiday than I expected when I agreed to act as a replacement, but that's hardly an excuse. Thankfully my lateness hasn't affected my long-suffering Venetian ally.
