DC352 - End of Game - garry.bledsoe   (Feb 18, 2011, 4:50 pm)
Trust - thanks for GMing for the game.

All - I wish I had been a part from the beginning. For my part, it was interesting if not challenging. Kudos to Mat and Jerome for holding true to their 2-way pact. I had desperately hoped there was going to be a stab by one or the other but I didn't see one forthcoming in time to save the whiny French empire (yes, I was whiny to try to get them to stab...I am not naturally such a whiner). Alas I should have tried harder to work with Germany earlier but I misjudged how things were going to go and misread his intentions in sparse email communication. Unfortunately that plus England and Russia being intent on his destruction just furthered the strength of A/I. Again, congrats to Mat and Jerome - that is a hard relationship to hold true to and to work long-term.

I enjoyed my brief and poor stint as France. Best of luck to all and I hope to see you all in another game.

All the best,

Garry

I don't mind either whatever we decide to do, so long as everyone is happy.

If Saurabh wants to continue, why not give him the warning, and then give a new deadline for the current move?

I don't mind either whatever we decide to do, so long as everyone is happy.

If Saurabh wants to continue, why not give him the warning, and then give a new deadline for the current move?

Chill dude, I didn't know I was supposed to whine, and you're doing
enough for both of us.
If you didn't want to lose you should have done something. I'm nor
going to beg and agrue with the three of you if you can't see the map.
You'll lose this one and next game you'll know better. To keep
attacking me was plain stupid, it left me with the only choice to
kamikaze in order to increase my importance.
I didn't expect this to lead to the game ending, I'm used to playing
until the end at the site I usually play Diplomacy at, so I was
expecting messages from E/F finally offering peace, instead I get a
petulent public rant...
Guess you think you're the center of the universe and everyone owes
you some special attention...

south, you whine about being attacked, you threaten to throw centers
away to the encroaching two-way. You did none of that. Heck you
never even managed to try to defend your own centers from them but
did still try to take English centers?

Russia tried to coordinate a 4-way defense. I responded to Russia
(without copying the rest) that I would only do so when I saw that
either of you responded (he can confirm this). I have even tried to
break up Austria and Italy although they clearly are having none of
it (I guess nobody wants to solo...sigh).

So I stand by my request - let's vote to end this and save us time
and them effort.

There us brilliant coordination actually. E/F/R have been openly
trying to kill G for some time regardless of other events, so G
decided that he is not prepared to die for them in order to fight
A/I.

It's my first PBEM game, so maybe I'm missing something... am I
expected to be fighting the leader even if the other smaller nation
are trying to kill me? Smile
