DC478 Anselm’s Ontology Fall 1907 - Game End - garry.bledsoe   (Apr 28, 2014, 6:52 pm)
Hi all,Well I feel like the luckiest player around. I fill in for John and I immediately get rewarded by being a part of a draw!
Honestly I am surprised to see it pass. I expected this game to carry on for a while given that, in my estimation, IT had FG dead-to-rights. It would have been very interesting to see how this one played out given that Italy or Turkey would ultimately have been tempted to stab to go for the solo (heck I was banking on it); it was really my only hope to get anything from the game and even then I expected it to be tough. So I naturally voted for what I saw as a good outcome given the position but I only did so because I didn't expect it to pass.
Sorry I didn't get to play more with you guys and I am sure that I owe John C. all the thanks/glory for getting this. All I did was push a few emails and hope that I wasn't going to get steam-rolled!
Thanks for the brief chats.Garry

This was a great game, I thought… Pax vobiscum.
I invite Game End Statements from you all as soon as possible - either send to me and/or copy to all (and copy to the Forum dc478(at)diplomaticcorp.com).

I will get the website updated as soon as I can - probably tomorrow.

The deadlines will be a bit longer for a while, as I am travelling around. Please note, in answer to a couple of you who have enquired recently: in general, except for some emergency. I will not usually hold over a game once the deadline has been set (I don't think it fair on the players or on the GM), but I am always very pleased to help if you let me know beforehand that you would like longer deadlines. I am working to the pattern of about 1 week per major season, very short (24 hours) deadlines for retreats, but 48 hours if I think the position needs it, and 24 hours for Winter adjustments.

As always: send me some preliminary orders now! If you get problems at work or the internet breaks down, or you temporarily lose track of time, or you get ill, or perhaps you have a hot date on the day of the deadline and forget to write orders, then your prelims will save you from NMR and potential anarchy!

Thanks to those who are giving me the occasional summary of how you see the game going - much appreciated!

Total war! But somehow, many French forces decide not to join in - apparently its much too nice in England in the Spring… Elsewhere, Germany attempts a daring raid on Norway with an Army from Belgium, only to be foiled by Finns loyal to Russia. The Kaiser suffers a defeat in Munich and must retreat his Army. The Tsar has his share of problems: there is no St Petersburg garrison to answer his call to arms, while loyal Livonians are forgotten in the hoo-hah. The Fleet in Sevastopol is annihilated by the steady Turkish moves northwards.

Looks to me like the next season is very important in deciding the result…

Retreats: due by 1600 GMT tomorrow Wednesday 12th March at the latest (I will adjudicate sooner if I get retreat orders from John. I have retreated Isaac’s fleet to Portugal - if you prefer to disband tell me very soon!).
