DC166 (wb0821) - Fall 13 Deadline Reminder - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Heya 166'ers...

Just a gentle nudge from your not-so-gentle GM that Fall 1913 orders are due in 10 hours. I believe I have all sets in hand, so we're looking good.

Cheers!

Heya folks,

Well, welcome to the longest running game of the Blitz, Round Two! Max and I seem to be a great combination, because the two of us were both also in the longest-running game of Round One.. Hmm..

But enough natter from the GM. Austria secures St. Petes and also takes a little side-trip into Naples for good measure. Adjustments are due from all three of you - deadline for Winter 1913 will be set for tomorrow - Friday, June 20th (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers!

DC166 (wb0821) - Fall 1914 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Things get tense as Africa falls to the English, Turkey finds itself surrounded and all signs point to quite a party soon to come in St. Petersburg...

No retreats are required, and only one adjustment for Winter - a build for England. However, we do have two end-game proposals to munch on:

1. An Austrian/English draw
2. An English solo.

Please have your votes for both in with the Winter deadline of Friday, June 27th (11:59 PM GMT). Any abstentions will count as a 'no'.

Cheers folks. Please let me know if you spot any errors.

England raises up some new cannon fodder in London. We'll groove along and set the Spring 1915 deadline for Monday, June 30th (11:59 PM GMT).

DC166 - English Solo Declared - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
PEACE!!

I guess rumours of the diplomatic corps headquarters being bombed were over-stated, after all. Well, at least the damage to the building was that is. We find the table containing the various peace proposals still intact, and in fact there are mutual agreements on declaring an English solo.

And so, the war ends. Congratulations to Nigel for his second solo victory in the Blitz. Hats off also go to Max and Clark for surviving till the end, as well as to all the players for their efforts. I have to say that this has been a very interesting game to run and to observe. End-of-game statements are, of course, very welcome. =)

Cheers everyone! See you all in next years Winter Blitz! =)

Just a brief note (I'll write a fuller EGS later) to say thanks to Mike for running the tournament, Trout for GMing and everyone for playing. Only my second game on the site, and the standard of play is very high - great to see few nmrs and people fighting on to the end. The high number of solos overall says to me we are a very determined bunch.

cheers

Nigs

Winter Blitz - Your Opinions Needed - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi players and GMs of the 2008 Winter Blitz!

Many thanks to YOU for participating in and making our first Tournament of this type at Diplomaticorp a resounding success. With the smoke cleared and the battle-wreckage hauled away, we find ourselves already preparing for the Blitz of 2009. Your opinions, as veterans of the first Tourney, are of utmost importance to help us find out what worked, what didn't, and above all - what we can improve for the next round. Any thoughts, comments and especially any criticisms you could share with us would be very gratefully received.

Please do us a favour and complete the following questions so that we can make the next Winter Blitz even better. =)

1. Did you enjoy the Winter Blitz Tournament?

2. Was the style and format of the games what you expected it to be when you signed up to play?

3. Did you find the GMs to be competent and fair?

4. Was the schedule and pacing of the games suitable?

5. What were your overall impressions of the tournament as a whole?

6. If you could change anything about the way the tournament was run, what would it be?

7. Do you have any other thoughts that are not covered by the above questions?

8. Would you consider participating in the 2009 Blitz?

Thanks very much for taking the time to provide us with your thoughts. All of your comments will be taken into account when planning next years Tournament. Thank you once again for participating this year, and we sincerely hope to see you in the WInter Blitz 2009.

Best regards,

The Diplomaticcorp Team
