dc154 ~ Romping Room ~ A New Austria - edgreen86   (Jun 13, 2008, 1:25 am)
Hi folks,

As the gentleman said, my name is Ed Green and I guess I'll be running A/H for the duration of the game.

A bit about my background with Dip. Started playing back in the early 70s (in High School) and after entering the military lost touch with the game.

Started playing again last year via the Internet.

And, I'm *very* excited to be playing this game, because this is the first time I've had a chance to play this variant, although I've heard/read about it for years.

Thanks for allowing me the chance to join in!

Ed

This is what we're looking at:

Rather than hold up the game I'm going to recruit a new player for Austria.

We should have orders for this turn from Austria, so I'll open

I can't find orders for several players, nor do I have DIAS votes from all the players, so I'm going to do a more thorough search of my emails to make sure I haven't missed something.

I will accept new/changed orders and/or votes in the meantime.

In the Youngstown variant map file (both the one sent out and the one on dipcorp), the Off Board Boxes reference the other OBs that they can go to (in their respective box). In general, we've understood that this means each can touch it's neighbor(s), and some more (e.g. k can touch B, C, J, L). Off Board Box I (eye) and Off Board Box J do not specifically list each other. OBI does list C and H while OBJ does list C and K.
That may make a difference to Italy and my movements. As I do not use Realpolitik, I do not know what the dpy file allows. Just a heads up, thanks!
