DC183 Fall 1904 moves - psychosis1973   (Jun 26, 2008, 1:37 am)
Sorry for the delay in getting this out...I got far too involved in the football game on the TV last night (Germany v Turkey for anyone that's interested) and clean forgot about the adjudication...

Anyway, Fall 1904 sees the squeeze continuing to be put on England and Turkey...despite England's best efforts, he can't get back either Belguim or Denmark, and loses the North Sea to boot. He holds on to Kiel though, which finally sees Germany off the map...

Out east, Turkey loses Constantinople to Italian invaders and drops to two units.

I'm gonna go for retreats and builds at the same time, and set a deadline of Monday 30th at 2000 GMT. I need one build each off France, Italy and Russia, and a retreat and (if the retreated unit doesn't retreat off the board) a disband from England. Should I get confirmed retreats and builds/disbands prior to the deadline, I'll adjudicate early...

Michael

DC183 Spring 1903 moves - psychosis1973   (Jun 09, 2008, 3:59 pm)
Spring 1903 moves are in...and lots of activity across the board.

In the West, France is thwarted in her attempt to take Belguim and move east in the Mediterranean, but mops up one of the last two German centres. Italy sneaks into Munich, but faces three French forces and will surely be evicted before he can enjoy the Oktoberfest.

In the North, England loses Norway to the Russian fleets, whilst in the East, Italy and Russia combine to take on Turkey, and evict him from Serbia. In retaliation, Turkey moves into the Black Sea.

There's three retreats due after this turn, and all have only one valid retreat. I've taken the liberty of retreating said forces to their valid retreat province. Should Turkey, England or Russia want to disband instead of making their retreats, please let me know by 2000GMT on Wednesday 11th June. If all three confirm their retreats/disbands before this deadline, I'll progress to Fall 1903 earlier.

Thanks

Michael

We've also got a forum on the site which folk are welcome to post to...either via email or directly on the diplomaticcorp website - the email is dc183(at)diplomaticcorp.com (dc183(at)diplomaticcorp.com)

Stab away!

Subject: Diplomacy game starting

We've finally got seven confirmed players, so we're ready to rock and roll! We haven't got a game number yet, but that will be forthcoming in the next couple of days. The game number's important as I need you to use it in the headers of any emails you send me, per my house rules, otherwise the mail won't get caught by my email filter.

Anyway, the important bit - the power allocation and the players of the game are:

Austria is Stuart Joy...(Site ID: lewellin), email: gadmiralthrawn(at)juno.com (gadmiralthrawn(at)juno.com)

England is Joao Queiros...(Site ID: jlq), email: jlqueiros3(at)hotmail.com (jlqueiros3(at)hotmail.com)

France is Rachael Jameson...(Site ID: Verticallychallangedcutie), email: verticallychallangedcutie(at)yahoo.com (verticallychallangedcutie(at)yahoo.com)

Germany is Hizer Ali...(Site ID: hizzy1Cool, email: hizerali(at)googlemail.com (hizerali(at)googlemail.com)

Italy is Craig Connell...(Site ID: cbconnell), email: cbconnell(at)gmail.com (cbconnell(at)gmail.com)

Russia is Nick Cherrier...(Site ID: zeclient), email: zeclient(at)hotmail.com (zeclient(at)hotmail.com)

Turkeu is Francis Banville...(Site ID: frank99), email: francisbanville12(at)hotmail.com (francisbanville12(at)hotmail.com)

I couldn't give everyone their first choice, but I think everyone's got one of their top 2.

As it's the first turn, and therefore the turn with typically the most discussion between the players, the deadline for Spring 1901 moves will be 2000 GMT on 12th May.

A couple of notes:

1. Be sure to check out my house rules, which are linked from the page of the game

2. The facility to send anonymous messages exists - just forward me the message you want sent, and who you want it sent to, and I'll pass it on.

3. I'd encourage folk to send preliminary orders in - you never know when technology will let you down or you'll be caught without email access!

4. Any questions about the game or rules I'm happy to help - just drop me an email

Have fun!

Michael

England:

France:
Build A Marseilles
Italy:
Build F Naples
Russia:
Build F St Petersburg(nc)

And the chaos continues...

Turkey and England continues to feel the pinch...Turkey hangs on and continues to make it difficult for Russia and Italy, whilst England finds all his orders disrupted, and loses a couple of centres. And is that the Italians heading West in the Med?? Can anything stop the Russians?

DC183 Fall 1905 moves - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Significant developments this turn, as France feels the pinch from a wave of Italian attacks, and fails in an attempt to get onto English soil. We also say goodbye to Turkey - thanks to Francis for playing this one through.

Two retreats from England - as one retreat (from NTH) only has one option (HEL) and the other (from KIE) has two options (KIE and HEL), one of which is a duplicate of the other retreat, I've taken the liberty of retreating NTH to HEL and KIE to BAL. Can Joao please indicate in the next 24 hours if he doesn't want to go through with these retreats.

Otherwise I need the following adjustments by 2000 GMT on Friday 11th July - France disband 2, England disband 3 (possibly less depending on retreats), Italy build 3 and Russia build 3. I'll remove the last Turkish force automatically.

Thanks

Well, I've got a bet riding on Spain to win the whole thing, but Russia's the form team at the moment.

I've really enjoyed this tournament, despite England not even qualifying!

v Turkey for anyone that's interested) and clean forgot
about the adjudication...

Anyway, Fall 1904 sees the squeeze continuing to be put on
England and Turkey...despite England's best efforts, he
can't get back either Belguim or Denmark, and loses the
North Sea to boot. He holds on to Kiel though, which
finally sees Germany off the map...

Out east, Turkey loses Constantinople to Italian invaders
and drops to two units.

I'm gonna go for retreats and builds at the same time,
and set a deadline of Monday 30th at 2000 GMT. I need one
build each off France, Italy and Russia, and a retreat and
(if the retreated unit doesn't retreat off the board) a
disband from England. Should I get confirmed retreats and
builds/disbands prior to the deadline, I'll adjudicate
early...

DC183 Fall 1904 moves - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Well, I've got a bet riding on Spain to win the whole thing, but Russia's the form team at the moment.

I've really enjoyed this tournament, despite England not even qualifying!

DC183 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself before the start of the game. I'm Nick Cherrier, living in Canberra, Australia. I'm 24 and this is my 3rd diplomacy game, and the first time playing Russia. I'm hoping to have a good experience with all of you, and hope that we'll be able to forge good relations. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email!

Cheers,

Nick

OK folks, our game number is DC183, which I need you to put into the header of any email you send.

Have fun!

Michael

DC183 Spring 1901 moves - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
And the first moves are in...thanks all for submitting moves!!

In the West, France forces her way into Burgundy, but has the English sneak into the English Channel. Meanwhile, Germany cautiously holds in Berlin...

In the East, Austria finds herself with two Italians and a Russian at her borders, whilst, unusually, no attempt is made to take the Black sea...

Attached are a Realpolitick file of the current status, and gifs of the Spring orders and Spring resolution. Appended below are the text of the orders and unit locations.

As there's no retreats needed, we move directly to the Fall 1901 turn. To keep the game moving at a reasonable pace, the Fall 1901 deadline will be 2000 GMT on Friday 16th May.

DC183 Fall 1901 moves - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
And the fall moves are in...

In the West, Germany and England try to sneak into Belguim, but bounce, leaving the low countries vacant at the end of 1901. Meanwhile, France spends the Winter in Munich, and takes over Iberia. In the East, Turkey gets stacked up, whilst Italy's attempts to move into Trieste are thwarted, but Russia grabs Budapest whilst Austria defends his Italian front.

So, with no retreats required, we move to Winter builds...I need the following builds...with a deadline of Monday 19th at 2000 GMT

England 1
France 3
Italy 1
Russia 3
Turkey 1

Thanks
