House Rules for Diplomaticcorp Games GM'd by Matt Kremer (unitedfan1389) 1.Submitting Orders -Orders must be submitted by email to matthew.kremer@yale.edu (not by DC forum, Facebook, ect.). -Emails must include the game number, season, and country in the subject heading. -If the GM receives orders marked “final” from all active players he will adjudicate immediately. Orders marked “final” may be updated provided an adjudication has not been published. -For movement seasons (spring and fall), all orders not marked “final” are considered preliminary and the most recently received version will be used upon adjudication at the desiginated deadline. -For retreat and adjustment seasons (summer, autumn, and winter), all orders not marked “preliminary” are considered final and will be adjudicated as soon as the GM has orders from all required players. -Abbreviations are encouraged. However, if an order can have multiple interpretations then the unit's order will be converted to a hold order. If an order is theoretically ambiguous but only has one reasonable interpretation (as determined by the GM), then that interpretation will be ordered. 2.Deadlines and Extensions -All deadlines will be at 9:00 p.m. US eastern time (either -4 or -5 GMT depending on the time of year). GMT deadlines will appear on the game's DC page. -Spring and Fall deadlines will be approximately 4 or 5 days after the previous adjudication is published. -Winter deadlines will be approximately 2 days after the previous adjudication. -Summer and Autumn deadlines will be approximately 1 day after the previous adjudication. -Notable exceptions to the above include Spring 1901 (or whatever the first year is) and after replacement players are introduced, both of which will have approximately 1 week deadlines. -Deadlines will never be placed on Saturday or Sunday, although those days will count toward the length of the deadline. -Extensions will be granted liberally and frequently provided they are requested a minimum of 24 hours before the standing deadline and that the GM does not perceive a player is abusing this priveledge. 3.Graces, NMR's, and Replacements -All players begin the game with one 24 hour grace period, which is activated the first time no moves are received from that player for a movement season. The grace extendeds the deadline by 24 hours for ALL players. -Graces cannot and will not be used on retreat or adjustment phases. -Deadlines extended by grace periods MAY be on Saturday or Sunday (this is the only exception to this rule). -If a player NMR's (no moves received) on a movement season, all units are ordered to hold and dislodged units are automatically disbanded. -If a player NMR's on a retreat season, the dislodged unit(s) are disbanded. -If a player NMR's on an adjustment season, builds are processed as builds waived and removals are processed in accordance with the tie-breakers in the DC House Rules. -If a player NMR's three times in a row or four times total, the player is automatically removed from the game. -A player may be removed before these thresholds are reached if the GM believes such action is warranted for the good of the game. -The decision whether to seek a replacement for a removed player or to put the power in civil disorder (CD) rests soley with the GM, although he may consult the active players before making his decision. Powers in CD have all units hold and dislodged units are disbanded. 4.End-Game Proposals -End-Game proposals will not be accepted before Spring 1906 (or whatever the 6th year of play is). -End-Game proposals may include any and all active players in a draw to share the victory. A solo victory may be proposed for a player who has not met the normal solo requirement. Powers in CD and/or eliminated players may not be included in draw proposals. -Active players not included in a draw record survivals. -Proposals will be posted for a vote with the adjudication that follows the proposal's submission to the GM, with the results to be posted with the following adjudication. This means the deadline for votes is ALWAYS the same as the next deadline in the game. -A proposal must receive a “yes” vote from all active players to pass. -The game will automatically end in a DIAS should no supply centers change hands for two full game years.
