HAPPY CANADA DAY, EH!!! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
This lifelong Yank was IN Canada on Canada Day, and had a great time. In
fact, I have greatly enjoyed each and every trip I have taken north of the
border. If not for two little problems named "January" and "February," I
might be tempted to move up there. But The Boss, who attended college at
Potsdam State in Way Upstate New York, has vetoed any return to cold
weather. And she outranks me.

HAPPY CANADA DAY, EH!!! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Jan and Feb?? ONLY!!! Are you kidding me!! My home town Calgary, got snow like clockwork, Labour day Weekend every year. Halloween was NEVER spent without a snowsuit and long underwear under my costume as a kid. Ski hills opened in Novermber and stayed OPEN until MAY (Sunshine stayed open until mid June sometimes!!!). May long weekend had to be spent in the plains instead of the foot hills or mountains to avoid getting snowed on.

But on the flip side of that Calgary got lots of Chinooks and there were times we golfed on Christmas day, and days I shoveled a foot of snow in shorts and a t-shirt.

I left all that behind when I moved to Belize... now I think it's cold when the temp drops below 28C (75F-ish)

Good job getting started on the right foot. The tempo is only going to pick up from here, so pay attention to the deadlines! Bit of a flub for the Turks, as they try to carry a fleet from the Black Sea to the East Mediterranean overland, but the rest of the orders were nice and smooth.

dc188 - delay - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Folks, sorry about me being MIA. I'm borrowing my neighbor's wireless internet right now. Fun. I will be returning to the office tomorrow morning (about 8 hours from now) and will be adjudicating. One player has asked for a short break due to vacation, but we should be OK.

If you want to make changes, you have until 1pm GMT (9am EDT). All orders are final at that time.

Sorry again, hope everyone had a nice weekend.

dc179 Blackmarch F04 Retreats In...A bit different... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
As such, I will allow for updated build/disband orders until Tuesday the 8th at 5pm CST. The updates are:

F Bul(sc) DOES in fact retreat to AEG; thus Austria will have to disband either it or A Gre [I can always appreciate someone
playing it close to the vest to have a bargaining chip!]

F Swe retreats to GoB

If that affects any build/disband orders sent in, you have until tomorrow at 5pm.

MAP NOTE: I will send an update after build/disband orders.

Joe - please confirm which you would like disbanded.
Will - the retreat means that you only get 1 build.

All - sorry for the slight delay. I had a bit of an issue confirming one of the retreats.

All the best.
LotM

England Surges Into a Tie with Russia.
The Witch and the Bear Command the Board with 10 each.
Italy Tries to Figure in the Final Tally with 6.
Germany Decimated on All Sides.

Okay...several different scenarios here:

Austrian F Bul(sc) is forced to retreat. I retreated to the only option
AEG but then he needed a disband so I took it since the unit in Gre
occuppied a center. IF THIS IS NOT OKAY, let me know. You could
keep the F in AEG and disband Gre as an alternative.

Russian F Swe is forced to retreat. He has options - Fin, GoB, or OTB
[off the board]. IF OTB, then you will get 2 builds instead of 1.

French A Spa is disbanded by the GM.

We can take these retreats first. Due to me about to leave to see family for the US holiday [where I don't have the program to adjudicate], these are due Sunday the 6th at 5pm CST. Then we will have 48 hours for the builds/disbands [until Tuesday the 8th at 5pm CST]. IF you want to go ahead and send orders for builds/disbands without seeing the retreats, you may do so. If I get orders all marked final before Tuesday then I will go ahead and proceed. If not, update coming Sunday.

Builds/Disbands:
England Build 3
Germany Disband 2
Italy Build 2
Russia Build 1 [or 2 depending on retreat above]

I was abducted by aliens! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Folks, I am dreadfully sorry for my apparent disappearance this past week.

I just bought a house and took off the week to move in from my apartment and storage unit, since I'm doing it myself I thought I'd need the time. Day one the alternator went up on the truck, and then there was a $450/3 days to get fixed plumbing problem. I had prearranged to have Verizon FIOS installed on the 30th. Well, it didn't happen, and won't till the 11th now, so I had no Internet access from the 29th until today when I returned to work.

Going through the twin peaks of work and personal email I noted several calls for a DIAS in this game.

So, to make things simple...

Please respond with the subject line "dc154 DIAS vote" and state your vote on a DIAS. If it does not pass, I'll get the current adjudication out to you tomorrow.

The Mediterranean wins "most difficult to navigate" sea awards! English
set up a line of defense in the north, last German centers are under
heavy fire, and Austria continues to play Musical-Dots around his home
centers.

There are some retreats, but all 3 only have one choice so we'll just
move them there and skip the summer turn. If any player prefers to
remove the unit instead, let me know by tomorrow 10am Pacific.

dc193 ~ Manefested Destiny - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I apologize for the delay, but my move from apartment to house didn't go as smooth as I had hoped, especially when it came to installation of my internet access which was scheduled for June 30th and is now scheduled for July 11th, simply because Verizon <big long list of foul language>, if you know what I mean.

I'm still sifting through everything that built up over the last week and intend to get something out, game wise, tomorrow (7/Cool.

DC143 fall 1908 deadline reminder! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Don't forget, the fall 1908 deadline is rapidly approaching -- Tuesday 7/8 at 23:59 GMT. I am missing orders from at least one player, and it would be a shame if there were an NMR at this stage of the game...

Hey guys, thanks to Paolo and some nifty javascript, you can see a
slideshow of how the land has changed in this game turn by turn. Go to
the game page:

www.diplomaticcorp.com?game_id=dc182

...and click on View Slideshow. Pretty neat, particularly for this
game!

ALSO:
Welcome Steve Lytton (stevelytton(at)hotmail.com) filling in for Matthew as
Germany for the next 2 turns.

dc154 ~ Romping Room - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I can't find orders for several players, nor do I have DIAS votes from all the players, so I'm going to do a more thorough search of my emails to make sure I haven't missed something.

I will accept new/changed orders and/or votes in the meantime.
