DC176 - Fall 1901 - 24 hrs notice for your orders - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Well, actually it is closer to 19 hrs...
At this moment I have only 3 sets of orders in !
That must mean that several Powers are still debating what orders to give.
What an excitement! While it's still only 1901.
Make sure you get your orders in by 16.00 GMT or else face the NMR. And a NMR at this stage could be fatal....
Just remember: better to have your prelims executed than a NMR.
After the Fall 1901 adjudication, we will continue with any disbands/retreats, if any, followed by builds.
I will try to keep up our current schedule with Spring 02 orders due by next Tuesday.

dc170 s05 results! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
France takes a bit of a beating here, while Turkey advances in Russia and Austria heads west! Almost bounced by a creative French convoy, failing only cuz the fleet is dislodged...
2 retreats - both French. So Tim send those over ASAP and we'll get the summer out in the morning... otherwise Cory will take care of the Summer tomorrow afternoon.
Enjoy!

DC166 (wb0821) - Spring 1905 - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
England takes a couple hits, but still manages to make inroads into Germany. We have three retreats due - two English and one German. Deadline for the Summer 1905 retreats will be set for Tuesday, Apr 22nd (11:59 PM GMT).
One note, because I know that I will be asked about it. =P France was not dislodged from Gascony, and this is not a mistake in the adjudication. The English support from Spain(sc) was not valid due to the fact that Gascony is not a province that a unit in Spain(sc) could normally move to. (Please note that the opposite support IS valid - i.e. a fleet in Gascony could support a unit to Spain(sc). This is because a fleet in Gascony can move to Spain - the north coast of Spain, but Spain nontheless.) This is a tricky little ruling, and if anyone needs further clarification on it then please just let me know.
Cheers folks!

DC176 - Fall 1901 orders - 12 hrs notice - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Dear Sovereign / Ruler,
less than 12 hours remain and we still haven't received any orders from you (if your name is listed as BCC).
I understand the confidentiality of your orders and have no doubts that you want to keep your orders secret til the last moment,
but you just may want to share them with me.
So make sure that I have your orders by 16.00 GMT on Tuesday.
And remember: if you haven't received a confirmation from me, assume I have not received your orders.
Your messenger likely was intercepted on his way to me - or worse, has sided with one of the other Powers.
Or, more likely, is suffering from a serious hangover from the pubs he visited on his way to me
and is still trying to figure out how he got there and where he's supposed to go.

possible. Kevin, if you still want to play let me know ASAP and please
explain why you missed the first deadline...

DC 160 - Replacement confusion - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Ok, so apparently I need to not try running game once my thoughts are already on Vacation.
So here is what happened:
James Woodward, our Austrian player went on Paternity leave and had tried to get Viceroy to cover for him. By the time we got through the discussion that Viceroy really couldn't take over as he is playing Turkey, Austria had been eliminated anyway.
Then Germany NMR'd and I thought "Oh crap, I never got a replacement for Woody"
So then Jorge steped up and offered to take the place of a German who did not have a baby and is only suffering from his first NMR.
SO, the much delayed adjudication will go out today with Germany's NMR and play will continue when I return after may 4th sometime.
Thank you for your indulgence!

GM Comment:
These results will also be posted to the DiplomaticCorp DC175 message board.
Remember to also submit any retreat and adjustment orders with your usual orders for the next turn.
Information on 2-season Diplomacy and the way to order retreats and adjustments can be found on the DiplomaticCorp DC175 message board. I'm happy to answer any questions on the process.
Please put the game number 'DC175', season, year and country in the subject line of any orders.
Preliminary orders are always recommended.
As forewarned, I shall be away on business and have very restricted email access, if any, from 23rd-26th April, inclusive. You will not receive order acknowledgments or answers to any questions during this period. However, don't let that delay you sending in any orders.
