dc395 Autumn 04 adjudication - jerome777   (Nov 07, 2011, 3:11 pm)
"Normality starting to return to Planet Earth! Incidents of two-headed fish being spotted off the coast of Madagascar in decline!"

"European generals seem to stop misordering - or cut the drinking, one or the other!"

"Italian fleet forced to retreat after massive naval battle off coast of Sicily!"

Bonsoir mes amis,

Hope you all remembered the Firework Code for Bonfire Night! An exciting turn this one, lots of centres changing hands. Map is looking more and more fragmented each turn, too.

Please find your adjudication for Autumn 1904:

Austria:
F Naples - Apulia (*Bounce*)
F Tyrrhenian Sea - Ionian Sea
A Vienna
Hold

England:
A Sevastopol Hold
A Spain - Marseilles
F Wales - London

France:
A Bulgaria - Serbia (*Fails*)
A Burgundy - Munich (*Fails*)
A Piedmont - Tyrolia
F Tunis Supports F Tyrrhenian Sea - Ionian Sea

Germany:
A Galicia - Bohemia
F Greece Hold
A Munich Supports A Galicia - Bohemia (*Cut*)

Italy:
F Ionian Sea - Naples (*Dislodged*)
F Mid-Atlantic Ocean - Brest
A Rumania - Serbia
A Silesia Supports A Munich

Russia:
A Berlin Supports A Burgundy - Munich
F St Petersburg(nc) Hold
A Warsaw - Moscow

Turkey:
A Budapest Supports A Rumania - Serbia
F Holland - Belgium
A Rome - Apulia (*Bounce*)

One retreat is needed - the Italian fleet in ION can retreat to ADR, AEG or EMS. Isaac, if you can
get me your retreat ASAP, that would be great. Deadline for the retreat is 2100GMT tomorrow, 8 November, though if you can get me a final retreat sooner then I'll publish as soon as it is received. Deadline for the builds and disbands will also be 2100GMT tomorrow, 8 November - I can't see them taking too long to decide upon, though Mike or James if you need more time then technically the deadline should be 2100GMT Wednesday, just let me know and I'll extend it.

Jerome

DC 398, Winter 1901 - alwayshunted   (Nov 05, 2011, 7:54 pm)
Hi group,

Sorry for that delay. My issue is with my mac, so if ANYONE knows how I can generate a map with the mac version of realpolitik, please let me know. I can make .dpy files but nothing else. I'm at home on an old clunker of a pc.... but it still works Smile

So, here is winter. Next deadline is spring 1902, which will be on Friday November 11 at 16:00 Mountain STANDARD time. No armistice for this group I'll wager! I will be on the road that day so might not get to the adjudication until late that night. We fall back an hour late tonight sometime just so you are all aware. We are now GMT minus 7 hours.

-----------------------

Austria:
Remove F Albania

England:
Build F Edinburgh

France:
Build F Brest
Build F Marseilles

Quite a unique map we have here after the first year. Thanks for getting those orders in on time! Keep it up.

That is all. Have fun,

DC 373: Fall 1914 Adjudication - AceRimmer   (Nov 03, 2011, 10:53 am)
Historical note: we have now reached Fall 1914. On July 28, 1914, Austria-Hungary declared war against Serbia, thus officially beginning the First World War. By Winter 1914 (our upcoming season), the war was in full swing, and the lives of otherwise decent men ended before they had a chance to develop into full manhood. Now, back to DC 373...

"Cassius from bondage will deliver Cassius.
Therein, you gods, you make the weak most strong;
Therein, you gods, you tyrants do defeat.
Nor stony tower, nor walls of beaten brass,
Nor airless dungeon, nor strong links of iron,
Can be retentive to the strength of spirit;
But life, being weary of these worldly bars,
Never lacks power to dismiss itself.
If I know this, know all the world besides,
That part of tyranny I do bear
I can shake off at pleasure."

"He that cuts off twenty years of life
Cuts off so many years of fearing death"

In total acquiescence, the Russian Bear lies down to sleep. Perhaps he has sipped of the wisdom of Cassius. Sometimes, it is better this way. Mr. Osellame, please inform me if you???d like to be removed from the email list; otherwise, you can expect to receive updates of the game???s progress.

Elsewhere, there are the usual shifts in the center (Munich to Silesia; Warsaw to Galicia to Ukraine to Moscow). France reclaims his loan of Rome to the Austrians... the Austrians disband. So, we advance straight to Winter 1914. Do not pass Retreats. Do not collect $200.

Due to the Austrian/English seizures of Russian centers plus the Austrian disband, we have the following:

Austria: Supp 12 Unit 10 Build 2
England: Supp 13 Unit 12 Build 1
France: Supp 7 Unit 7 Build 0
Germany: Supp 2 Unit 2 Build 0
Russia: Supp 0 Unit 1 Remove 1

The Russian disband is automatic. Dirk and Jack, you owe me orders by 14:00 CST tomorrow.

I have attached a .dpy file and a map. Sending in preliminary orders is a great idea. Your final orders will be due Tuesday. November 8th, 4:00pm Eastern US time. I think that will be 20:00 GMT but i am not positive at the moment....

I'm just reviewing my last email. The next deadline is Tuesday. November 2nd. Now, if you're smarter than me, you'll realize that Tuesday is November 1st. But my point was: get orders in by Tuesday! Well, poop. Okay, so the GM asks politely if you can get orders in by Tuesday, but he'll "deal with it" if orders are not in until Wednesday.

OK so one retreat is needed, namely the Russian army currently sitting in Munich. Dan, you can retreat to Ber, Boh, Kie, Ruh, or off-the-board. Please let me have your retreat asap, I'll publish it as soon as I receive it, and by 2100GMT tomorrow evening.

The clocks went back in the UK this weekend (i.e. end of British summer time), so therefore I'll be changing our regular deadline to
2100GMT from 2000GMT for the rest of the game (or till March when they go forwards again!). This allows me to put baby to bed, eat my tea etc. before needing to run the adjudication. I'm guessing most of you guys will have a similar clock-changing moment soon, so it probably won't cause you too much difficulty.

So, retreat deadline is 2100GMT Tuesday 1 November, and the deadline for the Autumn 1904 moves will be 2100GMT Monday 7 November.

Stay lucky everyone, and don't forget the firework code for Saturday night...!
