Miss me? Looking for a game... But uncle Sam is game hating hardcore here in Afghanistan. Can't access the main page at all from my govt puter. Mike -can you email me about that-got a ? for ya. Still got my address somewhere right?

Any who - anyone up for Dark Ages or just a standard? Maybe a public press only game? Can I get a gm for a long lost dipper come back around?

DC 398, GM to all - alwayshunted   (Oct 21, 2011, 5:41 pm)
Hi gang,

I just realized.... heh heh.....  I forgot to give you the TIME of the deadline next Wednesday. Well you know the date, Wednesday the 26th, and the TIME is at 16:00 Mountain Standard Time. Until November 6 that is GMT minus 6, so for now it is 22:00 GMT.

I have prelims from some, not all. Get them in!

Hi folks,

Okay, I have seven willing players and I have drawn countries randomly. There was actually interest in using preferences from only one player, and when I went back to check his e-mail I think he'll be happy enough with how things turned out.

Mike, we need a number please.

Some of you are fairly new, or very new, to diplomacy by e-mail. I am your unbiased GM and your question board in case any of you have any. Questions you ask to me are not shared with anyone, so feel free to e-mail me any time. I will not, of course, give anyone any "game" advice, only rules and such.

I use the diplomaticcorp house rules essentially. Please read them if you haven't.

I will not allow an nmr (no moves received) to be processed in the first year of the game, and anyone that doesn't get their orders in to me by the deadlines in 1901 will be immediately replaced.  The new player will then get an opportunity to chat with his neighbours and submit orders for that turn.

You can send me as many versions of your orders as you like.  Send them ONLY to me. I will use the latest set I have received at the point that I open my e-mail account to adjudicate the turn. That might be within a minute of my assigned deadline or it might be a bit later. I will do my best to be prompt wrt deadlines.... but I'm only human.... mostly. By all means send preliminary orders right away in case you get distracted as the deadline approaches. It's better to have something in then to get nailed with an nmr.

Below I have pasted the player assignment list and e-mails etc.  The first deadline (Spring 1901) will be in just over one week, on Wednesday October 26 2011, Mountain Daylight Time. I think that's GMT minus 7 hours.

So there you have it. I've attached a map and a realpolitik file. For those that don't have or use realpolitik, you might want to give it a try. You can download it from the DC website if you're logged in. It can be useful for planning strategies and such.

Okay I think that wraps it up. Any questions, feel free to mail me. Have fun!

wish to continue.

With that, here are your results. Germany has a

possible but no later than Friday, 10/21 at 4pm eastern US time.

The end just might be near as Italy makes

dc392 f952 results! - FuzzyLogic   (Oct 19, 2011, 8:49 am)
I think we're gonna be on a roll now, w this turn only being a day late.  The unfortunate near-replacement from last round did turn into a replacement.  BUT.  You know my stance on things... as of this point all of you have been turning in moves timely so suffice to say from *here* (points to x on the ground) on, we're just moving forward... no replacements, delays, waiting for orders.  You all pretty much know my style of GM'ing.  I'll replace if anyone NMR's in the first 2 turns, but not after that - and now we're past *my* first two turns as GM.  Also, keying the orders is getting a bit easier as I learn some of these spaces.

Enjoy!

NEXT:  Autumn and Winter 952 are due (together) Friday 10/21, 3pm Central!  I don't think any of the retreats can affect any of the builds, but if I missed something be sure to review for yourself.  Also note removing a retreat instead amounts to one fewer removal or one extra build if you want to go that route.

RETREAT!

Arabic A Antakya can retreat to Palestine or Palmyra.
Arabic F Tunis can retreat to Barca or Serkland or Berber Coast.
Burgundian F Ligurian Sea can retreat to Marseilles or Genova or Pisa or Roma or Gulf of Lyons.
Swedish A Memel can retreat to Ingermannland.
Slavic A Rostov can retreat to Mordvin or Viatka or Karelia.

BUILD!

ArabCaliphates: Remove 2
Burgundy: Build 1

Danmark: Remove 1

EasternRomanEmpire: Build 1

SlavicNations: Build 2
Norge: Build 2
Sverige: Build 1

PRESS!

Svierge...

to Slavs: We seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot. Many apologies. My predecessor has been flogged and sentenced to live life up in the cold northern reaches of Arkengelsk, since he was so eager to control that area. I would like to pursue a path less threatening to each other. I have left Mem for you to recapture as a show of good faith. I will ask for a return of Ard. My army in Vla might be lost, but if could see it in yourself to shift Ros for Vla, we'll have a nice tight border and can focus on other areas.

to Norges: As you can see, I accepted your request to vacate Tui, at the expense of Gut. Now we have Danes in the walls of our borders. They make tons of noise and cause damage to structures, so how about we work together to clean house?

to Danes: Nothing personal, but why are you sitting in my country?

********************

Burgundy...

to France: I am not able to take the centres in Ham or Fra yet, but thanks for the offers.  I will try to get out of Rou, but if I don't and you have dislodged that army I'm okay with that. I'll disband it.

to Eastern Roman Empire: Hopefully we can manoeuvre around each other in the Med. I really need Tyrrhenian so if I'm not there yet I could use your assistance? I will leave it empty as soon as I can.

********************

Eastern Roman Empire...

to Burgundy... Let's DMZ southern Italy and the Tyrrhenian. You go west, I go east.

to France... We were not attempting to take Graz. Please defend yourself from the Slavic slobs.

********************

France...

To Norway, We accept your presense in Iri. A Move to Mao would be seen as most hostile. We'd like to ask for a favor though; keeping one fleet adjectant to Mao is fine. Having 2 bordering MaO for longer than necessary would be a strain on our good relations. We believe there are better prospects for your forces elsewhere. If you could do a little 'cutting', rewards would follow shorthly after that.

To Burgundy,I've again submitted support for you to take Ham. I don't think it will work, but at least it will show my intentions. Also, do pardon the move to Rou, it's based purely on the solo notion that I might get it now rather than later. I didn't use support, since I can see a use for you building as well. In what direction should I take my central forces?

To Eastern Roman Empire, I'd advise you to leave Tirol. You have trouble elsewhere, no need to come looking for more.

To Slavic Nations, Can we draw a line at Pah/Bra?

To Sweden, Kill the Danes!

Regards, King of France

Have fun!

dc394 f03 results! - FuzzyLogic   (Oct 18, 2011, 11:25 am)
Whoops, missed a Hobbit move.  A Can-Wat was ordered.

Tho the Hobbits now take Waterdeep, the Wizards are unchanged and stay at 2, since now the Wat support is cut, the Wizards end up holding on to Vlh.

Net result...

Wizards must (may) retreat Wat, still -1

Hobbits are +2, not +1

Elves are +1, not +2
