Hi Players,
12 years gone and could be another 12 years to go. I'm not sure what you're going for, and judging by the EGP and corresponding votes, neither are you. All four votes fail, miserably. No new proposals are offered. On the one hand I would suspect that some of you are losing interest. On the other hand, you're not losing it to the degree that you're willing to work on building a consensus for the end game.
Is it the calm before the storm, or are we becalmed in the doldrums?
We do have press. I think its author would admit it is rather desultory compared to the earlier splendid efforts we've seen, but at least it shows a little bit of snarky life still exists out there.
PRESS # 1
Tony & Nigs, sparing over Tri
P-L-O-T-I-N-G
First its green, but next it will be yellow
Are Joe and Nigs throwing a Turkish solo?
HIGHLIGHTS
England continues to creep up in the standings, adding Brest to his stock and earning a new build.
Turkey sort of loses track of those central European provinces (Don't we all?) but no harm is done and, in fact, he still succeeds in destroying the White army that worked so hard to get to Livonia.
Russia doesn't lose a dot, but has no place to build a replacement for the lost army, so he'll have to skate short-handed.
The French army settles comfortably in Paris. Will it find reason to ever leave again?
Germany likewise decides a return to his capital is in order. Oh, this is all working out so neatly.
I still don't know what the Russian fleet in Gulf of Lyon is up to. Could be the admirals are equally confused, too. The fleet steams in circles.
There are 10 fleets in the Med
area.
And Trieste... is still green!?
RETREATS
Italian fleet Brest has only one retreat, to Gascony, so it is made automatically. We won't worry about the OTB option because...
ADJUSTMENTS (See table below for complete ownership and adjustment figures)
Italy removes 1.
England builds 1.
Thanks to the retreat OTB of F Albania in the Spring, Turkey builds 1, too.
NEXT DEADLINE: Winter adjustments are due tomorrow, Friday, June 17, by 18:00. Small but finite chance I'm going out, so if you get them in earlier I might be able to turn it around quickly.
Cheers,
Chris

dc371: Fa08 Results! - dknemeyer (Jun 15, 2011, 12:13 am) |
Diplomats,
Sadly Persia did not order her troops but must be buoyed by a generous bit of unnecessary support from the Egyptians.
The board pivots once again, as Egypt and Greece appear to have made nice in common service of slowing more glory to Rome. Still, it is only the the Roman who grows this year, at the expense of innocent citizens of Thapsus, abandoned by their war powers. It seems clear this game will be won or drawn based on the disposition of relationships, a disposition that has remained mercurial throughout. And, as must by now be evident, the draw vote has failed.
With no retreats we have only the one Roman build to consider. Deadline is Thursday! Other players, it's never too early to get in your prelims for next spring, either, which are due Friday.
Happy dipping,
Dirk

Hi Folks,
I am not finding any orders from Persia. As Jim is in the U.K. he is likely sleeping by now. I will wait until 6 am GMT before adjudication. However it is possible that I am not able to stay up that late tonight as I have not been feeling well. In that case the adjudication will come sometime before 18:00 GMT tomorrow. Wednesday June 15.
Pete, if you are an early riser do get me your order!

Hi everyone,
The builds are in, and your build/disband statistics are given below. England NDR'ed his disband, so I have disbanded Yorkshire as this is the one of England's two units which is not occupying a home SC (the nearest to home SC disband house rule applies).

England:
NDR - Remove A Yorkshire (per DC house rules - NMR 1.1)
France:

Build A Berlin
Italy:
Build A Rome
Take care,
