DC380 Turkey to England - hurup   (May 08, 2011, 12:55 pm)
Dan,

I can assure you that I aim to win this game; and if possible solo. If I were to accept a draw, it would have to be one that didn't include you. When I play this game, I don't accept namecalling, therefore I have forwarded your mail.

Poul

Poul,

You made a good go at it, but even with the Austrian snafu this is still moving to a draw.  The only question is what kind of draw.  AITE or ATE?  Stay out of the Mediterranean and Mick and I will finish off Italy.  Then we can call it a three way draw.  If you continue we'll have to enlist Italy and force the 4-way draw.

Interested?

Dan

Gee, I have 15 units and it's a surprise that I'm aiming for a solo?

Well, you just come along, and maybe we'll share a pint i Munich...

Poul,

I can't think of any better way to ensure the 4-way draw than to forward my fairly innocuous email (certainly by Dip standards) and then declare your intention to solo.  You probably locked down the AIT alliance in one fell swoop.

Seriously, what name calling?  "Austrian snafu"? Is that it?  Did you think I was making fun of Mick?  I was just referring to his non-submittal of orders resulting in his loss of the fleet in Tyn.  Was it something else?

Dan

Hello Everyone,

The 5-way draw passes.

I wasn't sure if the F07 results should be posted with the 5-way draw passed. Since the vote was due with the orders, it makes sense to allow F07's concluding moves to be posted.

Congratulations everyone.

Thank you for playing my first game as GM, I apologize for the errors that I had made.

End of Game statements are welcome.

dc380 autumn and winter 1906 results! - coryfucius   (May 06, 2011, 5:03 pm)
No surprise, France fails to submit a retreat - so we bid adieu to the abdicated leader.  Austria fails to submit a removal order, thus by Blitz tournament rules, the most distant unit - Austria's lone fleet - is scuttled.  England raises two more armies, while Turkey adds one of each.

Spring 1907 orders will be due Monday 5/9 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT.  Thanks!

You are free to change your moves inbetween now and the new deadline, if you wish.

DC 373: S1904 Adjudication - AceRimmer   (May 06, 2011, 8:57 am)
I could be well moved, if I were as you;
If I could pray to move, prayers would move me;
But I am constant as the northern star,
Of whose true-fix'd and resting quality
There is no fellow in the firmament.
The skies are painted with unnumber'd sparks;
They are all fire and every one doth shine;
But there's but one in all doth hold his place.
So in the world, 'tis furnish'd well with men,
And men are flesh and blood, and apprehensive;
Yet in the number I do know but one
That unassailable holds on his rank,
Unshaked of motion; and that I am he,
- Julius C??sar. ACT III Scene 1

This western triple alliance holds together with earnestly sworn oaths of loyalty. Well, the juicy centers of St. Petersburg and Tunis don???t hurt. Both fall, as the English advance into Russia, the French seize Tunis, and the Germans have their own gain in Prussia.

Elsewhere, Austria may (or may not) have some communications problems. We have not one but two voided supports ??? one by Austria; one offered to Austria. And is the end near for Turkey? His two units hold lamblike, ready for the pending slaughter.

There are two dislodgements. The Turkish fleet in Ankara retreats to Armenia (let me know within 24 hours if you prefer to disband, Jack). The Italian army in Tunis has no retreat options and thus disbands.

Fall 1904 will be due on Wednesday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m. CST.

DC376 WB11 Rd 2 - Fall 1906 Results - Corrino   (May 05, 2011, 6:12 pm)
Hello Players,

An interesting turn.  A quiet turn, I'm guessing, diplomatically.  Before we discuss the results, we have one brief, but biting, snippet of press.

Press # 1

"Let me kill England" says France.

"Great strategy, Dot Farm" says Italy

"Let me stab Russia" says Turkey

"Great strategy, Friendless" says Italy

Great sarcasm, but how accurate was it?

France doesn't kill England.  In fact, he has to work hard to keep the White fleet out of Liverpool.

Turkey does grab a second city in the Russian homeland, but clever defense by the natives thwarts the attempt to grab Moscow, as well.

Italy, meanwhile, turns over one dot to each of his so-called lackeys.  Were they both planned?  The Brest stroke allows France to stay on 4, compensating for his losing Belgium to the Germans.  Greece to Turkey?  Well, he didn't try to stop it....

After the dust settles, the counting begins.  An interesting count it is, too.  Italy has dropped back one SC from last year to stand now on 10, while Turkey has gained two to make 9 total, putting him just one behind the leader.

Are we setting up for a race to the finish, or a
friendly partitioning of the continent?  Is it too late for a third force, perhaps an alliance of northern powers, to stop this Southern Surge?  Stay tuned.  I have a feeling we'll have an answer in the not very distant future.

RETREATS:  German A Munich can retreat to Ruhr or Kiel or Berlin or OTB.

ADJUSTMENTS:  See ownership and adjustment tables below, following the orders.

NEXT DEADLINE:  German retreat and adjustments from everyone are due Friday, May 6, at 18:00 Eastern time.  Reminder that you may submit orders that are conditional on another player's retreats.

Cheers,
Chris
