Gentlemen,
I almost forgot to share this with you. It seems that the limerick bug has infected yet another European leader! Mon Dieu, we may be witnessing the beginning of an epidemic!
Chris
Limericks are the theme of the day
Lots of rhymes with Marc, Joe and Ray
Nigs a bit hard
But not for the Bard
When wigs were the topper each day.
The three-named Dual Monarchy is tense
Mike-Al-Walt sits astride the fence
Nigs is inside
To Tony I've lied
Will Nathan aid my defense?
The two-named Brit was aglee
No one has attacked me
Be it Bruce or Ray
It is going my way
What will my next center be?
Joe of France makes amends
To Marc he says let's be friends
I will leave you whole
The Med is my goal
But does Joe have evil ends?
Marc is betwixt and between
E/F co-op he has seen
Which way will they go?
Can I trust Joe
And what does a Warsaw build mean?
Nigs thought he was sitting pretty
He holds Austria by his little titty
But a fleet did appear
not far, but near
Now the Pope is feeling quite shitty.
Nathan was gifted Sweden by Marc
He expected a walk in the park
But R/T is no more
Two boats are in store
Will Ray see St. Pete as a lark?
Tony the Turk has a plan
All out attack on Nathan
Will Nigs stay away
Until I've made headway?
Fleet in Marseilles! Joe, you d'man!
What a mess is DC376
Everyone is taking their licks
E/F in the west
Right now looks the best
But the rest of this crowd are not hicks.[Reply] |

Apologies for sending this out with the last paragraph incomplete. It should read as follows:
You are further reminded that per the tournament rules, auto-retreats
are only employed when ALL retreating units have only a single choice.
Because the Russian fleet has multiple choices, I need retreat orders from everyone. Failure to submit a retreat will result in your unit being disbanded.

Good evening, Players.
Tonight's headline: Clean Hits & Sloppy Mistakes
The game is still young, but the English King has laid claim to the stab of the game to this point. While our unwitting Kaiser was helping the English fleet into Sweden, our treacherous King was slipping the knife into his benefactor's Dutch ribs.
Meanwhile, in the east, our Balkan mosaic remains unchanged, thanks to complementary cutting of support orders and an embarrassing mistake by our Sultan. It seems that the Constantinople fleet was ordered into the very heart of Bulgaria. Turkish admirals, unable or unwilling to determine whether to go north or south, simply steamed around the Dardanelles for a month and then put
back into port.
The Archduke suffered a misorder of his own, accidentally confusing the name of his capital city with that of his country. There is some small comfort, perhaps, in knowing that had he ordered correctly the same result would have ensued. He'll have another chance in the Fall to recover his composure (and his capital).
RETREATS: Due by 1800 tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5. You are reminded that I reserve the right to adjudicate early if I have all retreats. If that does not suit you, please mark your retreats as preliminary.
German A Holland can retreat to Kiel or OTB.
Russian F Sweden can retreat to Finland or Gulf of Bothnia or Skagerrak or OTB.
Austrian A Vienna can retreat to Bohemia or OTB.
You are further reminded that per the tournament rules, auto-retreats are only employed when ALL retreating units have only a single choice.
Because the Russian fleet has multiple choices,
Cheers,
Chris

Hey gang,
First of all Mike (Benyon), I apologise for the problems you're having
with your soul. I agree this has been a very disrupted game, but as Mike
(Hoffman) alluded to, I take no blame for it. And I don't think I could
ever be convinced to put the leading country into Civil Disorder at any point
in a game.
I have figured out now how to get the orders out of RP, so that shouldn't
be an issue from this point forward. I trust you all got them when Tim was
kind enough to forward them on.
As Mike mentioned, there is a draw proposal now on the table (my bad, he
mentioned it before and I forgot in my frustration to post it). It is for
a G/I/R/E/F
draw. I think we know the Mikes votes, but I need three more yes votes
for it to pass. Votes will be due with the fall orders unless I get everyone
to agree before then.
Retreats, hopefully with a proper map, will be sent
out later today.

Both Germany and Russia NMR again. England appears to be the immediate beneficiary, marching unopposed into Sweden. England also grabs Belgium, as his supported move overcomes France's attempt to gain that center. France sails into the Gulf of Lyon and backfills Marseilles with an army. Austria sends two armies northwest to threaten Munich. Italy sails to the Aegean Sea, while Turkey moves to the Eastern Med.
No retreats are due, so we will proceed directly to fall 1902, for which orders will be due Thursday 4/7 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. Thanks!
Cory

Diplomats,
You have all agreed that this game has come to a conclusion, with a three-way draw including England, Germany and Turkey, with France being the only remaining survivor.
Thank you for playing, good luck in the second round, and I'm looking forward to seeing you on a regular game at Diplomaticcorp. I'm not running another game right now, but I'll surely pick up a regular game and some variants in the future.

Hey gang,
First of all Mike (Benyon), I apologise for the problems you're having with your soul. I agree this has been a very disrupted game, but as Mike (Hoffman) alluded to, I take no blame for it. And I don't think I could ever be convinced to put the leading country into Civil Disorder at any point in a game.
I have figured out now how to get the orders out of RP, so that shouldn't be an issue from this point forward. I trust you all got them when Tim was kind enough to forward them on.
As Mike mentioned, there is a draw proposal now on the table (my bad, he mentioned it before and I forgot in my frustration to post it). It is for a G/I/R/E/F draw. I think we know the Mikes votes, but I need three more yes votes for it to pass. Votes will be due with the fall orders unless I get everyone to agree before then.
Retreats, hopefully with a proper map, will be sent out later today.
Warren

Sigh.... y'know, I just finished a game on DC that went 10 years without a single nmr.... unfortunately this in NOT that game. Another nmr, this time from Germany. Charles? Please get in touch with me as soon as you can.
Now, on with the game. There are a few developments. Just a note here that I have just been forced (kicking and screaming all the way) to switch to a mac here at work. As a result I don't seem to be able to copy the adjudication from the mac version of RP... so instead I've attached a RP file of the orders and I hope you are all able to get/see the orders as they were. Good luck with that.
There are two retreats due for summer. One from Russia and one from Germany.
Russian Army St. Pete can retreat to Livonia or OTB.
German Army Prussia can retreat to Berlin or OTB.
A reminder to those that might be new, or have forgotten. If I don't receive a retreat order the unit will be disbanded, regardless of how many options it might have.
I think that about sums it up. Summer is due on Monday April 4, 17:00 MDT.
Maps are attached. If there is a problem with the .gif please let me know.... who invented these stupid macs anyhow
