DC 363 WB11 - Spring 1907 Results - Corrino (Feb 21, 2011, 5:46 pm) |
Hi Players,
The vote fails, mainly due to disinterest.
We open Year 7 with a lot of what we've seen in Years 3 through 6, the Juggernaut just keeps juggering along. Season highlights:
The English King schusses while the French army takes Liverpool. No word from Frank this season. Hope he's having fun on the slopes!
Italy eschews defense, and pays the price. Fleet Naples is destroyed, and Rome is besieged on all sides.
France backs away from Turkey in the Med, but still gets clobbered by Russia in Germany. Au Revoir, Kiel. He does keep the Russian fleet out of North Sea, though... for now.
Russia takes Vienna from Turkey. Turkey takes Serbia from Russia. Do we think they're fighting?
Sorry, we're neutral. You'll have to form your own opinion.
RETREATS:
Turkish A Vienna can retreat to Tyrolia or Trieste or OTB.
French army Kiel has no legal retreats. Disbanded.
Italian army has no legal retreats. Disbanded.
Sultan Hugh, please send me your retreat within 24 hours and I'll post the results as soon as I see them.
NEW END-GAME PROPOSAL: 2-way draw between Russia and Turkey. Votes are due with the Fall orders.
Cheers,
Chris
Orders as resolved. Let me know ASAP if you spot any errors.

Looking for a few other players - Blueraider0 (Feb 21, 2011, 4:01 pm) |
So my friends are trying to get an e-mail game going but we don't have enough to play a full game, so we're looking for a few more players to get a full 7. We know each other from high school, but now everyone lives in seperate places. Any takers? E-mail me: blueraider0(at)gmail.com
Thanks!

Were you planning to GM it? If so let's just open it up, and once it's on the open games page people will be able to join. |
Looking for a few other players (Open Games) Blueraider0 Feb 22, 07:21 pm |
I am willing to GM if no other such GM was found. But if someone else could GM, I'd love to play and certainly everyone might feel better about the GM being as impartial as possible. That said, if we can get a GM they can post the game on DC. But my friends don't have DC accounts and they refuse to make any (there's no good reason, just laziness), so we'd have to say we're capping the game at 2 players (my 4 friends + me = 5) and explain why. Mike, is that an offer to GM??? |

Hey blueraider,
I don't suppose any of your friends might be interested in taking the last birth in the re001 game that I'm trying to fill, would they?

No, they would not. They are not DC members and try as I might I cannot convince them to join. They don't like the idea of playing with strangers. Lame, I know.
I might be willing to join. I'm going to CodCon this weekend so things have felt hectic as I get ready for that. But once I'm back I'll be able to take a clear look at my schdule and decide whether I can make such a commitment.....
Sorry I couldn't be more useful! |
dc342 ~ Imperial 1841 - sgttodd (Feb 21, 2011, 2:41 pm) |
We came in to 2011 like a drunk on a cobblestone street - stumbling
and falling. Finally, I hope, we can get underway and resume our
course.
Our Frenchman had fled and was replaced with Mr Johan Yoon whom I'm
wagering is made of sterner stuff than his predecessor.
The British King has abdicated his throne to deal with things or
greater import outside the game and after 2 tries, we have a new
King, Mr Mathew Baddorf.
Our most sincere thanks to both of these gentlemen for taking up the
reins of state for these two nations when they were needed most.
A typo on my part was found in France's orders, A MGT was ordered to
BAM, not BAN. This posting will correct the Fall adjudication and
include the Autumn retreats, taking us into Winter 1846 adjustments.
Our China player is away from civilization until the end of the
month and begs we await his return, so...

Turkey raises another army. I could not locate orders for Germany, so those builds will be banked for next year.
Spring 1907 orders will be due Monday, February 21 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. I will be away, so please be sure to send your orders to Garry and Mike, as well as the Orders box, to make sure you don't suffer an inadvertent NMR.

DC 359 Fall 07 Adjucation - untitled36 (Feb 21, 2011, 8:38 am) |
*Draw FAILS, War continues!*
*Stalemate line begins to form in the north!*
*Major conflicts in the Mediteranean!*
Hey all,
As a GM, I try not to comment much on alliances I see developing and things of that nature out of fear I'll ruin someone's carefully laid deceptions. But I think it's clear to everyone at this point that we have FIE vs GT. Seen in that light, the germans gamble their survival on an Northeastern strike, sacrificing their home centers to the cause. It remains to be seen if that gambit will succeed. In the south, there are lots of bounces, but it seems a slight advantage goes to the French/Italian forces, who crush the Turkish Fleet Apulia. But Turkish reinforcements are racing to the front. It promises to be quite the conflict here in the next couple years.
No new end game proposals yet, and no retreats. So we move on to Fall 07 on thursday at 8:00 AM CST (2:00 PM GMT).
See ya then!

Hey all,
Short on time today, so you just get the basics. I need a retreat from Germany (Livonia to Warsaw, or OTB) and An italian retreat (Ion to Apu, Eas, aeg, or otb).
Build-wise, assuming all units retreat, England, France and Turkey each build one, and Germany disbands 2.
Sorry about the brevity... I hope I told you all you need to know...

I am also keen to GM a game of 1900. I am afk pretty continually until April though - but once April comes around, I plan to be GMing 1900 here, or on Redscape. [Reply] |

Ah, wish I could join. But with a 3-week trip ahead I'm afraid I won't be able to live up to the commitment needed.
UNLESS of course you decide to stall the kick-off until after May 8? Please?

I'm confident we'll have a full compliment by then Frank, but you never know. Maybe when you get back from your trip there will still be space for an empire-builder such as yourself |

Thanks!

DC352 - End of Game - garry.bledsoe (Feb 18, 2011, 4:50 pm) |
Trust - thanks for GMing for the game.
All - I wish I had been a part from the beginning. For my part, it was interesting if not challenging. Kudos to Mat and Jerome for holding true to their 2-way pact. I had desperately hoped there was going to be a stab by one or the other but I didn't see one forthcoming in time to save the whiny French empire (yes, I was whiny to try to get them to stab...I am not naturally such a whiner). Alas I should have tried harder to work with Germany earlier but I misjudged how things were going to go and misread his intentions in sparse email communication. Unfortunately that plus England and Russia being intent on his destruction just furthered the strength of A/I. Again, congrats to Mat and Jerome - that is a hard relationship to hold true to and to work long-term.
I enjoyed my brief and poor stint as France. Best of luck to all and I hope to see you all in another game.
All the best,
Garry

DC 341: Arethra Franklin is warming up - AceRimmer (Feb 18, 2011, 10:05 am) |
The fat lady looks like she's getting ready to sing... but, lordy, what a melodious voice!
So, the big news is the wholesale conversion of the German homeland to Mother Rus. Berlin, Denmark, Kiel, Munich. Da, da, da, da. Russia's score right now? Two touchdowns and a field goal. One more, and it's game over.
Elsewhere... Russia's Italian friend... far from converting an entire nation, he loses Brest.
And that, my friends, is the difference between a Patriarch and a Pope. With a Patriarch, you can convert all of Germany. With a Pope, you can't even keep what you had. Must have something to do with married priests...
There is one auto-retreat:
Italian A Brest retreats to Picardy.
Winter is due on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. CST, but I can adjudicate today if I get all orders before about 3:00 p.m. Orders are due from Germany, Italy, and Russia. It's a good thing for Russia that he has four home centers so he can use all of those builds.
