What Alliances Will Dominate Our Midgame? Inquiring Minds Want to Know...

All,

We move to the Fall as there was only one retreat with one option. I moved A Con to Ait. Kevin can choose to go OTB if he wants and I will update everyone. Otherwise let's move to our Fall turn for next Monday the 20th at 6pm CST. We will also manage our Winter turn for next Wednesday the 22nd at 6pm CST. At that point we will break for the holidays. We will probably break through to Jan 3rd unless there is an objection. That will give ample time plot and plan AND enjoy eggnog/cookies.

Gents,

After someone bravely steps into DC341, "Decline & Fall" DC343 is next in line for a foolishly courageous Sultan. The Young Turk will inherit a position in which he possesses his three original SC, has a chance at nabbing an abandoned Russian SC, and will need to play the Austrian and Russian empires off each other to gain any advantage.

Check it out, and sign up!

Game DC 341 needs a turkey... er, a *replacement* Turkey.

The position has 3 centers heading into Spring 1906, but it will take a persuasive player to rescue it (something to do with Russians in Ankara and Armenia). Personally, I like positions like this, as there's no pressure, but there's always an outside hope for glory.

Please contact me at smegdwarf-at-yahoo.com if you'd like to take it over. Please include "DC 341" in your subject line.

Thank you in advance!

dc334 s07 retreats! - Godzilla   (Dec 13, 2010, 8:44 am)
Given the circumstances, I am voting for the concession. As there is little interest remaining in this game, I implore all other players to do the same. It's time to put this game to bed, which has never been a thing of beauty in any event. Almost since the beginning we have suffered a lack of interest and good play, so can we just end this thing? Thank you.

Yep, proposal failed. I mentioned in the spring results.

There is a similar proposal for this fall, due Thu / 16.

A failure to vote or even NMR is counted as a vote against any EGP. i.e. all players must affirmatively agree to end a game for it to be ended prematurely.

Victory condition...
4) There are 38 supply centers. Victory's condition is possession of 20 centers at the end of any Fall retreat.

Gosh, Max, thanks for the warm fuzzies! Love you, too.

Michael, I'm assuming the concession proposal failed, but you didn't even mention it, which you really should so we can be certain it wasn't just forgotten about.

Also, what are the HR about proposals? Is a failure to vote counted as a vote against any draw/concession proposal?

And finally, can you remind me what the victory criteria is? Max, perhaps Persia isn't that far away from the magic number, so this could be over soon even without an Athenian vote.

Thanks,

Marc

DC 333, summer 1907 - alwayshunted   (Dec 10, 2010, 7:23 pm)
Hi folks,

A few things to catch up on. One, the draw proposed last year failed this spring, which I forgot to point out in the adjudication. Two, we have another proposal, this time for a two-way Russia/Turkey draw. Please vote with your fall orders. And three, I have had a request to speed the game up a bit, which I think I can do. If you have any objections, please let me know.

Okay, the summer turn had the French fleet retreat to Tyrrhenian Sea. I will make fall due on Wednesday next week, the 15th of December 2010, 17:00 MST.

Maps are attached. Have fun.

DC 345: S1904 Adjudication - AceRimmer   (Dec 10, 2010, 3:27 pm)
The combined might of four different nations conspires to???
leave the North Sea vacant.  Again, there???s
a lot of bouncing in this region of the world.
But with Hembria advancing to Edinburgh and the Norwegian Sea, I???d have
to say he gained a few feet of soil this Spring.  Maybe things would???ve been different if
Adaria had a unit in Liverpool.

     Paris prepares to
welcome visitors?  It just may be.  The gates are undefended, but if Hembria is
like your GM, he doesn???t really know what to make of that Zonotrichian army in
Bohemia.  And if he uses his army in Kiel
to safeguard Munich, doesn???t that open opportunities for the
Were-Hamsters?  Not to mention that Paris
is not the only possible target for that army in Burgundy.  Ooooh, my head hurts.

     Ankara and Naples
dismantle fleets.  It is possible, I
fear, that this Fall???s orders will be the last for three separate powers.  Possible, but is it probable?  For the record, I fancied the odds for all
three of them after we had completed opening selections.

There are no retreats.
So, I???m going to cheat by a day and set the F1904 deadline for next
Thursday at 3:00 p.m. CST (21:00 GMT).

Come on- especialy Athens, who has NEVER replied to me. For the Gods of this world spare us all a long slow defeat, better still turn me into a bird so i can do droppings on the Athenian King
