That's Right - The Lord of the March is Card-Carrying DD FanBut it is Appropriate as Several Supports Are Not Used and Somebody Got the Business End of a LieSpain Even Hoped to Provide Support for a Super Convoy to IcelandOf Course Any Movement Away Would be Nice as Spain is Surrounded!Don't Fret Chris...You Have Company - Shape of Byzantium, Form of Burgundy?
Fun times! Based on the bit I hear and the number of times that orders changed I am guessing that this game is proving quite entertaining (or annoying depending on your locale). Well, it only took 3 short seasons and we need retreats:
A Bavaria can retreat to Hesse, Swabia or OTBF Sweden can retreat to Skagerrak, Bornholm Sea, Baltic Sea, Latvian Sea, Gulf of Bothnia, Norromark or OTB
Let's get those retreats by Friday at 4pm CST (NOTE THE EARLIER TIME). If I get orders marked "final" before then I will send out the retreats.
Beyond that, Fall will be next Tuesday at 6pm CST. That will allow us to get in one last Spring before I get off for my wedding and honeymoon. A reminder that we will be on sabbatical from approximately the 13th until the 28th (The Lord of the March gets a Lady AND a trip to Rom and Tus).
PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK ORDERS. I DID THAT TOO BUT THERE WERE A LOT OF VERSIONS AND I AM ONLY HUMAN.
Well, that should cover us. Good luck with your Fall negotiations.

(DC 326) Gumball - Spring 1911 Results - Corrino (Sep 29, 2010, 10:22 pm) |
Hi Players,
Apologies for the late posting. I was giving the Kaiser a few extra hours grace in which to submit his orders, but it mattered not. Germany NMR's for the Spring turn. I suppose he just wanted to give the rest of you a free turn to catch up!
Not a big turn, movement-wise. A few bounces... a few positioning moves... no units dislodged and no SC changing hands.
It's late and I'm feeling tired, not inspired, so I'll just forgo the usual witty synopsis, all right?
RETREATS: None
NEXT DEADLINE: Fall 1911 due Wednesday, October 6, at 8 p.m. Eastern US time.
Herr Kaiser -- I need to see your orders ASAP to show me you're still in the game.
Thanks.
Cheers,
Chris

dc330: Sp42 Results! - dknemeyer (Sep 29, 2010, 12:32 pm) |
An odd season. While a variety of centers change hands - generally following a theme of "rich get richer" - there are misorders and unused supports in various places. Perhaps the officer corps is napping and letting the NCO's dictate strategy this spring? Treat this as a reminder to all players to double-check your orders and make sure you are placing valid ones!
Elsewhere...
On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor; within days the United States has declared war on Japan and is officially part of the imbroglio.
On January 11 Japan declares war on the Netherlands, invades the Netherlands East Indies, and captures Kuala Lumpur.
On February 15 Singapore surrenders to Japan.
On April 9 the Bataan Peninsula falls to Japan and the Bataan Death March began.
In May the first undersea oil pipeline is tested in the English Channel between England and France.
There is one (Polish) retreat this season. Robert, let me know if you need more time on it since the spring adjudication is late. More upcoming deadlines at the end of this note:

Hi All,
I vote yes to the DIAS too.
Like Lee, I would like to see this game through to its conclusion, but
the delays have become a too long and too often.

All,
I have voted yes to the DIAS. As much as I would like to continue I
cannot
wait 2-3 weeks between turns. Typically this was a game I actually
stood a
chance of winning, so long as Turkey didn't stab me first

Subject: dc310: DIAS?
Players of dc310,
As this game has not had a major turn for 5 weeks, with no
communication
from the GM in 2 weeks, I would like to publicly propose a DIAS. It is
my
understanding that if we all publicly agree to this the game will be
closed
by the admins and we can move on.
So, what do you say? Move on to another game? Replay to
dc310(at)diplomaticcorp.com in the affirmative if you agree.
Thanks,
Dirk

We finished Charlotte???s Web last night. Not to spoil it for anybody, but Charlotte dies. That???s what happens when you spin webs. However, apparently freshwater hydras can live forever. Who knew? I???m sure there???s a moral in there somewhere.
Germany???s Spring 1901 choice of F Kiel-Holland unfolds into Fall 1901. Russia takes Sweden. Germany takes Belgium (in spite of French support for the English fleet). And England bounces the Kaiserin out of Denmark.
On the other side of the map, Austria seizes Rumania with Turkish help! Russia, however, is no sleeping bear; he uses the opportunity to wend his way into Galicia.
And Italy and Austria continue their bizarre physics experiment in Venice/Trieste, seeing if the laws of quantum mechanics will allow an army and a fleet to pass clean through each other. They don???t. Not yet at least.
The Winter 1901
adjudication will be at 10:00 a.m. CST, Thursday, September 30th. Remember, orders are treated as final unless marked preliminary.

Sorry for the broadcast message, but I wanted to get everyone at once.
I am experiencing some significant issues in my Home Life, and will not be communicating as frequently as I have in the past.
I will do my best to keep this from impacting the game, I am not withdrawing, but if you do not hear from me as often as you have been, you know why.
Thanks All

All,We only had one retreat required and it only had one option; thus F Gre retreats to Alb. If wanted it can be retreated OTB but it won't matter because unfortunately Italy will be one of a few countries disbanding some units. Our adjustments for Fall are as follows:
England: Build 2France: Build 2Germany: Remove 2Italy: Remove 2
Let's go for Winter adjustments by Thursday at 6pm CST. From there, our next deadline will be Oct 7th at 6pm CST for Spring08. Pending those results, we will see what the next deadline will be. I will be gone for my wedding and honeymoon starting the 13th so we will have an extended break.

Greetings to everybody. I notice this is an all-american game with
the odd Portuguese playing from Africa...
Getting lonely for us Europeans, isn't it? I dare say that comes
down to the DC site being very much an American site. Perhaps one
day I'll run a German game hosted on ludomaniac.de, the flagship of
the German pbem hobby. Years ago I wrote the one article I've ever
written about 1926/1936 for that site. But then again, that'd cut
out players I love having in my games, so...
Thanks guys for being mindful of CCing me. I hope in this game I
shall have more time perusing all the shenanigans, whereas in DC319
time constraints sadly didn't allow for much of that.
Cheers from Berlin,
Charles[Reply] |
