Next GM? - FuzzyLogic (Aug 03, 2010, 8:01 am) |
It's that time of year again, calling out for anyone who has GM'd before and wants to again, or someone that wants to try GM'ing... Who wants to take the next standard game?
It's probly easier than you think and we need volunteers![Reply] |

Poobaloo -
I'll take the next Standard Game. Incidentally, has anyone made Realpolitik or a similar program for Linux? No worries if not, but it would be convenient.

Great Salim!
I don't know if RP runs under Linux, but I do believe that jDip would run under Linux, being a Java program.

Busy time of year is ramping up and all our games are kicking off... this leaves the Open Games page looking mighty devoid of games! Who wants to run something? Someone mentioned Colonial, and that's not the first time I've heard that requested.
Or GMs for a standard game? Step right up!
We always need GMs... if you haven't GM'd before, it's probly easier than you think. Easier than being a player for sure. Let us know! |
Next GM? (Community) alhabashi Sep 16, 01:44 pm |
I am only 10 SC's away from my solo in DC333 (ho ho ho) and will run a Stonehenge or Dark Ages game then, providing I can load all the software and so on.
Open games is looking sparse.

Next GM? (Community) FuzzyLogic Sep 18, 11:37 am |
It is indeed! Either a Stonehenge or Dark Ages would probly fill fast.
We still need Standard game GMs! Our queue is down to 0 ready in the wings...

DC319: Winter 1941 Retreats/Adjustments - charlesf (Aug 02, 2010, 7:42 pm) |
Hallo zusammen,
World War 2 (or at least the continental prelude) has been in a bit of a
phoney war funk of late. Well, time to again sharpen your swords, polish your
rifles and rev up your spitfires! 1942 was a big year in history. Lets see how
it shapes in this alternate timeline!
I've scheduled the Spring 1942 Moves now for Monday, 9 August.

1648 091010: Winter 1661 Retreats/Adjustments - charlesf (Aug 02, 2010, 7:19 pm) |
Hallo zusammen,
okay, we're finally moving forward. Though given the holiday season, we
shall continue to move on at a leisurely pace.
And yes - as you may have inferred from the first sentence - we are
moving on since the submitted FPT three-way draw proposal failed.
Armies have been en vogue this winter, with both Warsaw and the Porte
churning them out in record numbers, though of course neither monarch was able
to build to his full potential owing to limited build sites. With both of these
two "superpowers" having exceeded the victory criterion, will one of the two
manage to edge past the other in the coming year?
The spring 1662 deadline is now scheduled for Wednesday, 11 August. Seemed
to me the best solution given that Nigs will only have very restricted email
access for the remainder of his holidays.

Subject: Knightings!
Welcome Chris and Bruce to the ranks of the veteran players of diplomaticcorp!
Chris joins us as our new intern -- the Initiate Knight, while long-time member Bruce surges ahead to Knight Tactician, skipping to the highest of Knight levels...
Other advancements:
Warren and Jason trade in their Parchment for the Raven, beginning the long climb thru the Orders.
Alan and Fredrik gain some stature as Knight Captains
Ben and Darryl give up their intern status to become Knight Errants. (Can Chris possibly fill the role of these two by himself?)

DC310 Winter 1904 Adjudication - Samnuva (Aug 01, 2010, 12:50 am) |
Since Britain's position is effectevely helpless since she could not build her units this winter, I'm going to place england in CD, meaning we are seeking a replacement for France only. Once we have a new france I'll keep the game going at a normal pace, which I have so far epically failed at doing. Also, this will be the last email anyone who is not still playing will get. I'll update the contact list tonight.

DC-322 Third Proposal - Dancing_Queen (Jul 31, 2010, 7:08 pm) |
I'll take a DIAS, and Conceed that the Scots have the biggest claymores, AND go one further -- we were really just playing until we eliminated someone. It was a fix from the start.

You guys saw it here first. Add a Scots concession to the list of proposals. If both are unanimously passed, the more inclusive will be the final verdict.

Guys -
I agree that the game has moved into a endgame tactics exercise and is now
devoid of diplomacy. However, let me humbly suggest that we acknowledge the
inevitable for the game ending proposal and declare The Scots the winner. I will
formally add that to the table, Andy.

I am voting YES to this draw -- not because the game is
uninteresting, or the tactics, but because this is a playtest and much of the
diplomacy has stopped.
There are better pure wargames than diplomacy. This has
been a lot of fun and I would happily play in the next iteration of the
variant, which I think has a lot of promise.

I don't object to declaring the Scots the winner of this playtest. I don't know that it is inevitable, but I don't care enough to fight about it.

DC 333, Important Spring 1902 Correction!! - alwayshunted (Jul 31, 2010, 1:02 pm) |
Hi folks. It has been pointed out to me that I made (GASP!!!) an error in my adjudication. Now you know why I always tell you to check my work....
The results don't change, so I won't re-send the maps or change anything else, but Germany's order for Fleet Skagerrak should be F Skagerrak S F Sweden - Norway, NOT F Skagerrak S A Denmark - Sweden as I somehow managed to read.
Maybe I am subconsciously trying to stir up trouble? Anyhow, Russia can now cancel the hit on the German leader.
Thanks folks. Your humble GM,
Warren
