-DC 328- Spring 1902 Abjudication - dreamsynergy   (Jun 18, 2010, 9:18 am)
England moves in force to the English Channel, and the army at Holland gets support from both France and Germany, albeit to different places.

France bounces with Germany in Burgundy.

Italy regains control of the Ionian Sea.

The Austrian Archduke frantically calls for his advisors, as Austrian forces hold their ground, and provide mutual support for each other.

Russia seizes Norway from the English, while staking her presence in the centre by moving to Galicia.

Turkish admirals must have had a change of heart, for the Turkish Fleet in the Black Sea sails right back to Ankara.

Hey, Folks. Turkey's march forward continues, taking all of Italy's home centers in exchange for Munich. Was it worth it? Only time will tell. On that line, a Turkish Solo has been proposed. Vote with the Spring turn. There aren't any retreats, so we go into winter. Since I'm late, I'll push the builds deadline until tomorrow morning. Check your orders. I actually entered these last night, and sometimes I don't catch my mistakes. See you soon.

Gentlemen,
And there is peace across Europe as the diplomatic channels manage to persuade all fighting parties that the weapons should be put down.
The victory goes to Austria and Italy who managed to stay together from the start until the end in this game with lots of abandonments. England and Germany manage to scrape together a survival.

End game statements can be sent to dc308(at)diplomaticcorp.com.
I also envourage you to visit the game page at the web site, where the complete stats will soon be published.

Guys,
Have you all received the Spring/Summer adjudications yet? I just asked the
GM and he basically told me to go screw myself. On top of being incredibly
rude, it compromises the game because it appears that the GM has either
missed a couple of deadlines, or has not been sending results to all
players...
If I've missed a deadline because of this, is there any way to appeal this?
Thanks

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."

"What are we holding onto, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

DC290 fall 1906 deadline extension - neversawthatcoming   (Jun 17, 2010, 1:32 pm)
I can see that if I'm late tonight...I'll need a really good excuse...so I'll throw one out in advance...

No I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.

OK, so I guess I labeled this e-mail as spring 1906 deadline, but it's actually for the fall 1906. I'm sorry about that, thank you those of you who questioned that. I don't know what is going on with me, I am making so many mistakes, and I hope they aren't messing you guys up too much, you have all done a great job of fixing my errors and everything, thanks!

I'll reattach the map and realpolitik files to this e-mail. Deadline is still 9:00pm EST tonight though, you've had almost 2 weeks so there aren't any excuses.

FYI for all:  I'm now working at a summer camp as their program coordinator and logistics director.  I will probably not respond as quickly or as timely as I have been......
But either way, good game Smile  Even if it keeps biting me in the butt....

DC290 fall 1906 deadline extension - bobbarkerfan1   (Jun 17, 2010, 8:41 am)
OK, so I guess I labeled this e-mail as spring 1906 deadline, but it's actually for the fall 1906. I'm sorry about that, thank you those of you who questioned that. I don't know what is going on with me, I am making so many mistakes, and I hope they aren't messing you guys up too much, you have all done a great job of fixing my errors and everything, thanks!
I'll reattach the map and realpolitik files to this e-mail. Deadline is still 9:00pm EST tonight though, you've had almost 2 weeks so there aren't any excuses.

Turkey has confirmed the auto-retreat to Armenia, which means we have zero adjustments due for this Winter and you can start working on Spring 1904.  Those orders are due by next Wednesday, 6/23, at 8 pm Eastern US time.  If I have seven sets of final orders by Tuesday I will adjudicate early.

(DC 326) Gumball - Fall 1903 Results - Corrino   (Jun 16, 2010, 8:46 pm)
Hey Gumballers,

A lot of pushing and shoving this turn, but not much in the way of actual accomplishments.

Turkey had the most going on -- losing a fleet in the Aegean, recapturing Rumania from Russia, and then losing Bulgaria from behind to the opportunistic Austrians.  Elsewhere in Europe the most we could manage in terms of excitement were a couple of bounces.

Game notes:
- The western trio of E, F and G failed to move a single unit.  Not any of them.  That's 16 units all sitting in exactly the same spots as they were at the end of Spring.  No SC gained, no SC lost.  In my experience, I'd have to call that unprecedented this early in a game.
- Russia beats a tactical retreat from Rumania, resecuring his home province of
Sevastopol.
- Austria and Italy continue to work well together.  Austria saves Venice from the wandering bear, while Italy establishes total dominance of the Eastern Med.

RETREATS:  Turkish F Aegean has no options for retreat.  Poof!  Turkish F Sevastopol has only one option, Armenia.  The retreat has been made automatically but, as always, the Sultan may choose to disband that unit instead.  Just let me know ASAP so I can pass it on to the rest of the group.

SC Ownership at the end of 1903:

Austria:   Budapest, Bulgaria, Serbia, Trieste, Vienna.
England:   Denmark, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Norway, Sweden.
France:    Brest, Marseilles, Paris, Portugal, Spain.

(DC 324) A Stab in the Dark - Autumn 1907 Results - Corrino   (Jun 16, 2010, 8:05 pm)
Hi Players,

Well, folks, I hate to say it but this looking more and more like a two man race.  England and Turkey each grow by 2 SC this year while the remaining three powers dwindle.

Nevertheless, there are still good reasons for everyone to keep fighting to the best of their ability; reasons such as ride, honor, and the chance to influence the final outcome.  What's more, with the two witches so evenly matched, there may indeed be opportunities for clever players to take advantage of the great powers need to stop each other from reaching that critical majority.

As always, your individual reports have retreat and
adjustment info that you need.  Here are the current SC counts for all
countries at the end of 1907.

COUNTRY    SC
Austria     0    ... eliminated 1903

England    12

France      5

Germany     0    ... eliminated 1906

Italy       3

Russia      1

Turkey     13
