dc325 Imterra - F03 Deadline Change - garry.bledsoe   (Jun 14, 2010, 8:07 am)
I had a request to slide the deadline a bit due to the late nature of the retreat. I think that is reasonable. So let's move our deadline to Thursday the 17th at 6pm CST.

All,

Sorry. I forgot about the Troll retreat. The F retreats to Far Far Away. Adjustments required for Winter are as stated below. Due to the slip by me, let's move our Winter to tomorrow (the 15th) and Spring to the 17th (just adding a few days for some more finger-pointing).

dc224 F20 - Twenty Strong and Counting - Viper   (Jun 13, 2010, 10:12 pm)
For the record, I might not have held across the board if I'd had time to actually put in orders.  I was on my way out the door to spend a week away from home when I realize that if I NMR'd that my vote would be a no... so I at least got that in.

As for the other two Mikes, I don't think either of you will change any of our opinions any more.  I wouldn't bother to hazard a guess as to which one is voting down the DIAS, but I don't care any more... and any number of emails to everyone won't make me care an ounce higher.  For the sake of everyone's sanity and time, let's please end it now.

dc325 Imterra - Summer03 The End of Turkey - garry.bledsoe   (Jun 13, 2010, 11:14 am)
Well, barring an Austrian catastrophe at home that requires all units on the Turkish front to return home in one fell swoop, it seems that we will bid farewell to Bruce. I received no retreat options so, per House Rules, those go OTB.
Sorry for the delay in getting this out. Hopefully it doesn't affect our Austrian/Russian plans too much.

(DC 324) A Stab in the Dark - Spring 1907 Results - Corrino   (Jun 11, 2010, 7:48 pm)
Stabbers,

Our question for this beautiful Spring season is "Where the heck did everyone go?"  Only nine units are revealed this time, way below our average.  Is it because everyone turtled up?  Or were you swinging wildly in the dark, and it just happens that your target ducked?  I guess each of you will have to answer that question for yourself.  Meanwhile, you can look at the dark, dark map and wonder, "Where the heck did everyone go?"

RETREAT REQUIRED:  Italian army Greece.  Please submit ASAP and I'll notify the concerned parties.

NEXT DEADLINE:  Fall 1907 is due Tuesday, June 15, at 8 pm Eastern US time.  I'll adjudicate Monday night if I have all five sets of final orders by then.

Cheers,
Chris

Yep, your verbalisation of the map was accurate, Dirk. I trust these spatial
relationships are now burnt into your long-term memory! Smile
Each turn I will create a new sheet in an Excel workbook showing the
expenditures of all. In the past Charles has chosen not to share this in
his games, and as a player I've found this to be terribly disappointing.
Not quite true. I just won't publish DP allocations if any player objects to
this. Why? Because I wouldn't want any player to ever hold back in how they
allocate their DPs based on the knowledge that these would later later be
published.
Now, that probably wouldn't be a concern for most players, but for some it
may. Hence the way I as GM handle this.
Cheers,
Charles

dc330: Prelims are in! - dknemeyer   (Jun 11, 2010, 3:46 pm)
Hi Everyone,
Thanks to all seven players for getting prelims in before this first
adjudication! We're off to an excellent start!
I have two points I want to make/clarify about the game before the
first adjudication happens next week...
First, the first time I played with this basic map (a 1926 variant) I
played as Britain and so misunderstood the rules for sailing around
Africa that I traded away my Middle East interests and practically
limped west in the Mediterranean, away from that front. I always
promised myself if I were to GM one of these variants I would be very
explicit about how it works so no one else suffers from that same
misinterpretation. In the other preparations it slipped my mind and
thus falls into the list of loose ends I am now tying up:
There are two sea spaces south of and with direct canal access into
the Suez Canal (Sue). These are ATL and ARA. ATL completely wraps
around Africa and is directly adjacent to all of the following
territories:
Egy(sc),Gib, Ire, Mor, NWA, Sue, SWA
On the other hand, ARA provides access to the underbelly of the middle
East and is adjacent to the following territories:
ATL, Irn(sc), Irq, Kuw, Pal(sc), SAr, Sue
Charles, as the map maker please correct any errors my eye is making.
The second thing I want to make sure you are all aware of is that
AFTER the game is completely finished I will be making public the DP
expenditures of all players. Each turn I will create a new sheet in an
Excel workbook showing the expenditures of all. In the past Charles
has chosen not to share this in his games, and as a player I've found
this to be terribly disappointing. So now that I am the GM and drunk
with power I will reverse the policy and make the data available to
all once the guns have fallen silent.
If you have any questions about either of these things please let me
know. Have a nice weekend, it is certainly the calm before the storm...
Dirk

Hi all,

I am still missing one set of build orders. To the individual in question, I will give you a grace period of another 48 hours. Failure to submit a set of builds, will look bad on your DC record, and not to mention, have a dramatic impact on the game.

Deadline for next Spring will be revised once the 48 hours are up.

It would certainly be more palatable if Germany were at least TRYING to

GM's remarks:

An interesting situation in that no supplies change hands so we go directly to the Spring season.  I checked this a couple of times to try to understand why Realpolitik wasn't providing for a Winter season.  But, it is what occurred.

I also checked a couple of different ways to ensure that France has in fact NMR'ed.  I guess Scott figured Russia would put an end to this game.  Not true, we continue on.  I hope we will hear from Scott shortly.

Congratulations to all the survivors to making it into year 12 of Round 2, Winter Blitz 2010!
