Gentlemen,
The spring moves eliminate Russia and Turkey takes a beating. It's going to be very exciting to see what happens over the next seasons...
The only retreats that were needed were for our friends who were in civil disorder - and all units have retreated OTB, so we move immediately into the next season - Fall 1905. I'm currently very busy both at work and privately, so we'll allow a week for the turn.
Next turn: Fall 1905 Movement
Next Deadline: Friday, 4th of June, 18:00 GMT (6PM).

DC298 Fall 1921 Adjucation - untitled36 (Jun 03, 2010, 8:25 am) |
Hey all,
Russia fails to nab the magic 18 this season. France retakes Edi and mar, thus gaining the build that may keep the game going. It looks like it'll be a guessing game for Russia in 1922. We'll see who comes out on top next year!
I do need a retreat from Russia. F Edi can go to yor, Nwg, or OTB. And everyone has adjustments to make in winter. So I'll see you all tomorrow by 8:00 AM CST!

(DC 326) Gumball - Fall 1902 Results - Corrino (Jun 02, 2010, 7:49 pm) |
Greetings Gumballers,
Year 2 sees plenty of action all around the map. Some are up, some are down, but no one seems to be separating from the pack just yet.
Highlights:
. The English are topping the board by 1 SC, thanks to Russian help in taking Denmark away from the Germans.
. Meanwhile, the Germans actually leave French territory voluntarily. Will the French be appeased?
. Italy and Austria stay friendly, and each is able to hold on to what they have.
. Turkey keeps pace, however, by capturing Rumania. Will he regret having to give up the Black Sea to do so?
Ownership:
Austria: Budapest, Serbia, Trieste, Vienna.
England: Denmark, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Norway,
Sweden.
France: Brest, Marseilles, Paris, Portugal, Spain.
Germany: Belgium, Berlin, Holland, Kiel, Munich.
Italy: Greece, Naples, Rome, Tunis, Venice.
Russia: Moscow, Sevastopol, St Petersburg, Warsaw.
Turkey: Ankara, Bulgaria, Constantinople, Rumania, Smyrna.
Adjustments:
Austria: Supp 4 Unit 4 Build 0
England: Supp 6 Unit 4 Build 2
France: Supp 5 Unit 5 Build 0
Germany: Supp 5 Unit 6 Remove 1 ... or stay even if retreat is OTB.
Italy: Supp 5 Unit 4 Build 1

1648 091010: Draw Proposals - charlesf (Jun 02, 2010, 4:07 pm) |
Hi guys,
I'm afraid I forgot to include two draw proposals
in the Fall adjucation. The following draws are up for a vote:
- a Polish-Turkish two-way draw
- a French-Polish-Turkish three-way
draw
The deadline for these votes coincides with the
Winter deadline, Friday 6PM CET.
Cheers,
Charles[Reply] |
DC 306: Sengoku Rev6DP - Fall 1573: Shimazu Yoshih... - Kenshi777 (Jun 02, 2010, 3:18 pm) |
Shimazu Yoshihisa was the daimyo of one of the oldest and most
established clans in all of Japan during the Sengoku Jidai. From
their home in Satsuma province, they would eventually dominate nearly
all of Kyushu before being driven back to their ancestral home by the
upstart Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
Our Shimazu clan has likewise been deposed this season. Thanks to
Isaac for fighting to the finish - your death is honorable
***TEAHOUSE COMMENTARY: Uesugi Kenshin and Shimazu Yoshihisa fail to
prevent the Mori advance into Iwami Coast in Yoshihisa's final act of
vengeance. The Chosokabe clan trades Bungo for Kii, and claims the
last of the Shimazu holdings. Suzuki Sadayu is not the only minor
daimyo to be erased from Japan's landscape this season either.
Mitsugi Yoritsuna of Hida also has met an untimely end at the hands of
the Dragon of Echigo, Uesugi Kenshin. To the south, the great battle
of the southern seas between the Chosokabe and Hojo is about to begin
in
earnest, as the Chosokabe armada forces the Hojo from their position
in the Pacific Ocean. Finally, Asakura Yoshikage reminds his
adversaries that he has not lost the art of the offensive, as he
forces the Chosokabe invaders from Harima while warding off an attack
on Settsu.
***HAIKU!!!
Homeless Shimazu,
now just an autumnal storm's
flotsam and jetsam.
***PLAYERS:
Shimazu Yoshihisa - Isaac Zinner (*eliminated 1573*)
Mori Motonari - Jim Atkins
Chosokabe Motochika - Jean-Luc Lefebvre
Asakura Yoshikage - Garry Bledsoe
Oda Nobunaga - Joe Babinsack
Takeda Shingen - Nathan Deily (*eliminated 1572*)
Uesugi Kenshin - Fredrik Blom
Hojo Ujiyasu - Michael Thompson
***RETREATS DUE:
Chosokabe A Harima can retreat to Bizen or OTB.
Hojo F Pacific Ocean can retreat to Kazusa, North Pacific Ocean, or OTB.
***NEXT DEADLINE:
Autumn 1573 Retreats will be due Friday, June 4th at 1700 EST. Winter

1648 091010: Fall 1659 Moves - charlesf (Jun 02, 2010, 1:08 pm) |
Hallo zusammen,
Emperor Louis V managed to defend his beleaguered throne for another year
and indeed has managed to wrest the Electorate of Saxony from the Habsburg
pretender to the imperial crown. Yet the Bourbons have suffered defeats
elsewhere, for Switzerland was conquered by an Austrian army while the remnants
of Cromwell's Scandinavian expeditionary forces descended upon wealthy and
papist Flanders. Considering how Cromwell's army has treated the equally
Catholic Irish, this is probably not such a good time to be Flemish... This also
incidentally mean that the Protestants in the Empire have a new champion for
their cause after having had no greater power to turn to after the demise of
Sweden.
In the Mediterranean the Sultan lurched forwards into Tunis and the Western
Mediterranean after having lately focused only on Italian conquests.
The Polish republic has equally sought to expand her influence westwards
and have pushed the Turks out of Greater Poland, liquidated England's erstwhile
Scandinavian empire but for a defenceless Finnish enclave and have sailed
through the Oresund.
All in all, quite a dynamic picture!
The Winter 1659 Retreats/Adjustments are due Friday, 4 June,
6 PM CET. Note that the number of adjustments for a number of powers
depends on how the two pending retreats play out. Remember that adjustments may
be made conditional on the preceding retreats.
Liebe Grüsse,
Charles

Hey all,
Clark had sent his retreat to Garry, but apparently not to me. Garry confimed to Clark that he received it, so the official summer results are:
Bur-Gas and Trl-Boh.
Sorry for the delay on this. I know this gives you less than 24 hours between the confirmed Summer retreats and the Fall deadline. I regret that being the case, but since we are solidly in the end-game, I'm not thinking there's much diplomacy going on now. So hopefully it won't matter much.
Housekeeping-wise, You can feel free to remove Garry from your order emails now (but make sure you keep the orders box on there, just in case!). I'm glad the game didn't end during my absence. I want to be around to see the finish, however it turns out!

Carefully, the Kaiser balanced the bucket of water between the frame and the partially opened door of his office. Stifling a chuckle, he moved the stepladder out of sight and hurried back behind his desk.

(Meanwhile, In the Reichstag)
General De Frog, newly promoted Secretary to the German Ministry of Capitulation, knocked once and, without waiting for a response, entered the Kaiser's War Room .
"A-hem'
"What is it De Frog?"
The Kaiser was slumped in a high backed leather chair; staring disconsolately at the map of Europe spread on the vast desk before him.
"Reports suggest that our communications to neither the Italians, nor the French governments, have been reaching their destination, Sir"
"How so?"
"Russian hunters, apparently Sir. Apparently, they've been snaffling our carrier pigeons for their suppers, Sir"
"Harumphh! - Well how then, are we to continue our mocking of the French, De Frog? Tell me that! - How are the Italians to know that we are still sympathetic, if mildly indifferent to their cause! - How then!? - We must change our strategy!"
"Indeed Sir!, perhaps we should revert to the old-fashioned method of sending an envoy, Sir? - or perhaps, in the case of the French court, a children's entertainer, Sir?"
A hint of a smile appeared beneath the Kaiser's mighty moustaches.
"That's it De Frog! Send at once our finest stonemasons to Rome and have them construct small but sturdy walls in front of the foreheads of all the members of the Italian Court. That should save them time, when planning their response. The merest gesture of goodwill, should be all that is required to master the trust of those rabble.
And what to do about the French, eh? - How do we get our message across there?"
The Kaiser drummed his fingers on the desktop
"The thing with the Children's entertainer.. I like that ... but what shall we have him say?"
"If I may be so bold Sir?, Perhaps simply have the entertainer visit the French Court, and tell the French Queen, that she and her people are all Italian-speaking, kilt-wearing, wannabe-Cockneys, Sir"
The Kaiser mused over De Frogs' suggestion.
"See it done! - and immediately! - If the clown is to reach Edinburgh before September, he must hurry!"

You have no idea how desperately I wish you were as funny as you think you are.
FYI - the KING of France is in London. The only Queens lurk in the Kaiser's
closets.

"How so?"

(DC 324) A Stab in the Dark - Autumn 1905 Results - Corrino (Jun 02, 2010, 6:14 am) |
Good morning, Players.
Due to the vagaries of the real world, I'm stuck at home for a while this morning. However, my misfortune is your good fortune, as it allows me to put out the Autumn results a good 13 hours earlier than normal.
Remember yesterday when you learned that the English witch had not one, not two. but three units dislodged from foreign SC? Well, guess who gets to BUILD this winter. That's right, England. He's up from 9 to 10 SC this year, tying Turkey for the board top. Our other movers are Italy (+1 from last year) and Germany (-2).
Here is the complete chart:
COUNTRY SC
Austria 0 ... eliminated 1903
England 10
France 5
Germany 1
Italy 6
Russia 2
Turkey 10
==================================================
NEXT DEADLINE:
Winter 1905/Spring 1906 are due Friday, June 4, at 8 pm Eastern
time. If all orders are in and marked Final I may adjudicate 24 hours earlier.
Cheers,

We have one retreat, but Persian F ADR could only go to Dal so I
just nudged it there. Ben if u prefer OTB, just let the group know by
this time tomorrow, else the adj stands! Some interesting results…
Egypt hammers Carthage with a double-whammy in Phaz and GOS, leaving the Leptinians
isolated this fall as they look over the horizon at enemy units in every
direction. Rome strikes back at the Adriatic, Persia sneaks around into
Gaul, and a delivery guy carrying orders from Cairo is sacked… Last words
in a Spartan VII-XI… Can you tell me where I could find “Athens”?
