DC 298 Fall 1917 Adjucation - untitled36 (May 13, 2010, 8:17 am) |
Hey all,
The FIR failed. So the war rolls into another year. And the net center total remains the same for all players. This could be a long one, folks! (or longer, I guess!). Russia still sits a mere two centers from the win, but those Italian units behind the lines will likely cause all kinds of problems for the Russians.
So I need two retreats (Italian A Vie can retreat to Gal or otb, and French A Mun can retreat to Boh, Ruh, or otb). Assuming no OTB retreats, we have NO builds needed. So I'll shoot out a quick update tomorrow (if both retreats are marked final, possibly even before). THen after that I'll see ya on Monday!

1648 091010: Spring 1658 Moves - charlesf (May 12, 2010, 6:06 pm) |
Hallo zusammen,
the Stuarts are back! Young Charles has landed in the West Country to
reclaim the throne and punish those who executed his father. The Third English
Civil War has begun! No chance of a Cavalier-Roundhead Coalition, I guess... "I
agree with Charles" T-shirts are apparently outselling "I agree with Oliver"
ones. -Ah, ok, couldn't do without a UK election reference here...
Over on the continent, the Archduke has scored some success as the
Electorate of Brandenburg was wrested out of the hands of the Swedish Vasas,
leaving only Swedish Pomerania under their rule.
In the wider Baltic arena, Poland is now fully ascendant and has
established total naval supremacy east of the Oresund. Quite remarkable
considering how young and inexperienced a service the Polish navy happens to be.
No doubt most of their ships are captained by Dutch and German officers.
What about the Mediterranean? Well, the Sultan's galleys have moved forward
in one long daisy-chain. Meanwhile, the Spaniards have moved forcibly on the
Emperor's beleaguered realm and have also been sighted off Catholic
Ireland.
Now, a DIAS proposal has been put forward. So let the voting
begin.
There are no pending retreats, so we move on to a May 19 deadline, prelims
being due on May 17.
Liebe Grüsse,
Charles

Folks, We are just past the deadline and I'm still missing two sets of orders. I'm not going to NMR the offenders, but if this becomes a chronic problem I will consider replacement. I'll send separate notes to the offenders and adjudicate as soon as I have all orders.

dc224 Spring 19 Delay - garry.bledsoe (May 12, 2010, 3:54 pm) |
All,My apologies. When I set the deadline for yesterday, I did not realize that it coincided with a business trip. As I have documented previously, I do not have RealWorld on my Mac so I cannot run the turn. I will be home tomorrow night and will get us going again. Sorry.

All,
We have a new Undead character called Skullcap (Army), two new Trolls, Never Never Land (F) and Kahvi (A), and one new Pirate to terrorize the seas, Pan's Labrynth (F).
I have also found out that we have a player that is going to be gone until May 9th (starting today). As such, it makes sense to push our Spring 19 deadline to Tuesday May 11th at 6pm CST.
Attached is our new .dpw file along with an updated map. Don't forget to vote for the EGP's, specifically the Elven one.
Your fun narrator,
Garry

I was asked to clarify which EGP's were voted down. They were:
Rogues/Ogres
Rogues/Ogres/Trolls
Rogues/Faeries
Rogues/Faeries/Pirates
Pirates/Faeries
Pirates/Ogres
There was NO DIAS proposal up for voting in that last round. There is one up for voting for Spring 19.
A simple reminder: I count as final the last set of orders AND votes received to me at adjudication.

All EGP's Fail! But Don't Worry, Chapter 37 is Sure to Have Some New Ones!
Pirates Look for a New Foe?
Ogres Get Pushed Back? Nonetheless They Taunt the Troll Fleet That They Destroy!
What Next? Does An Upcoming Chapter Hold Peace for the Races? This GM Doubts It!
The ELVES Make a Rare Appearance to Get an EGP Inclusion?
All,
Lots of work here. I apologize for the delay but there were many things to check on this one (darn voting on EGPs!). Here we go though.
First - our EGP's ALL fail. But worry not! We have new ones:
DIAS
R/F/T/O
R/F/T/P/U
R/F/T/P/U/E
Yes! The Elves has come out of the forest long enough to make an appearance for a draw. As the Elven king, I would like to publicly vote YES to that draw (sorry Ogres!). Yes, that EGP was for real; I know I have been entertaining but not even I would bend my GM powers that far...BUT I would bend them that far to give me a draw if it passes!!!!
Votes on these are due with our Spring orders which will be due by next Thursday the 6th at 6pm CST.
But, before we get there, we have Fall business to attend to. There were two retreats and both had only one option - F Razor's Edge could retreat to Kara-Tur and F The Maw could retreat to Knockshegowna. Each of these were auto-retreated. Mike has the option of going OTB with each of these if desired (but unlikely given that this game does not have Chaos builds).
That moves us to Winter where we have the following adjustments (unless Mike chooses to retreat either or both OTB):
Faeries: Supp 15 (Blocked 0) Unit 15 Build 0
Ogres: Supp 33 (Blocked 0) Unit 33 Build 0
Pirates: Supp 10 (Blocked 1) Unit 9 Build 1
Rogues: Supp 21 (Blocked 0) Unit 21 Build 0
Trolls: Supp 15 (Blocked 1) Unit 13 Build 2
Undead: Supp 8 (Blocked 2) Unit 5 Build 1
Naturally the Ogres could build 2 if they choose 2 OTB retreats.
Let's have Winter adjustments by Friday the 30th at 6pm CST. Votes are not due until the next Spring (and would not take effect until then so PLEASE also submit Spring 19 orders).
Fight on Storytime Creatures! AND DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR THE ELVEN DRAW!!!

DC 306: Sengoku Rev6DP - Spring 1573 Deadline Adju... - Kenshi777 (May 12, 2010, 3:26 pm) |

and defeated Harukata's forces. Motonari then continued to
consolidate his control of the Ouchi provinces, continuing the
campaign against the Amago and Otomo clans, and eventually rising to
become one of the greatest rivals to Toyotomi Hideyoshi in his
campaign to unify Japan.
***TEAHOUSE COMMENTARY: The Mori clan was also known for possessing
one of the more powerful navies of any daimyo in the Sengoku era, and
our Motonari (Jim) seems to be similarly inclined. Mori builds an
additional fleet in Iwami, though his Chosokabe ally builds two,
keeping Mori in second place in the naval arms race. Shimazu
continues his attack on the Mori lands, abandoning his final holding
in Kyushu. Asakura strengthens his core holdings by building an army
in Settsu, while Oda disbands his southern front in favor of facing
Hojo, who has build two new fleets and an army of his own. Uesugi
lines new forces also along his border with Hojo, placing a fleet in
Mutsu and an army in Kozuke.

Gumball - Game Start - Corrino (May 11, 2010, 7:58 pm) |
Players,
Thanks to everyone for responding so quickly. The Gumball is ready to roll!
You will receive your country assignments immediately following this message. Thanks to one generous soul who specified "no preference" I was able to give everyone else either their first or second choice.
Deadlines will be weekly. The vote was 3.6 in favor of twice weekly versus 3.4 in favor of once a week, but this is case where I don't want to force through the more rapid schedule without a significant majority. No point in stressing people out.
However, there is a way we can be flexible. What I will do is set each deadline a week ahead of the previous adjudication, BUT if I get orders marked "FINAL" from every player I will adjudicate
early. That's what I'm doing in DC324 and it is working well. Most players, in fact, have given me a blanket authorization which says "any orders I submit can be considered final." So, it's up to you, really. Tell me what you think.
First official deadline: Tuesday, May 18, 8:00 pm Eastern US time (which I believe is midnight GMT).
Please feel free to write me any time with questions, but remember NOT to post to the game forum.
