DC300 - EGP - bielf11   (Apr 07, 2010, 2:33 pm)
You all received an EGP from Dirk for another Russian Solo.
This EGP will be up for voting after the next adjudication, i.e. with Summer or Fall 1906 orders.
You can always propose EGPs conditionally if you don't want to have to wait another turn for the next EGP vote.

Any votes that I received since the EGP was proposed will be counted towards the next voting.
IMPORTANT: some GMs rule that EGPs can be proposed without a vote HOWEVER that's not how it works with my games.
Anyone that proposes an EGP, automatically, that is by default, votes IN FAVOR OF the EGP. Therefor if someone wants to propose an EGP but wants to vote against it for whatever reason, he needs to make that NAY vote explicit.

DC 285: Spring 296 results - blueraider0 at gmail.com   (Apr 07, 2010, 2:22 pm)
Lots of movement, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.  Rome is recaptured, Carthage is taken, and the sea is swarming with Egyptian boats.  Good thing the Exodus happened a thousand years beforehand, or else that parting of the sea trick wouldn't have done much good (sorry, Passover just ended - had to do it)!

There's also an error on the map.  I accidentally clicked "Dacia" but ought to have clicked "Sarmatia".  I've corrected the error below, but can't edit the map until the retreat is resolve.  There is a Persian army in:
Sarmatia, Chersonesus and Sinope (and NO Persian unit in Galatia).
The map will be corrected when the retreat is sent out.  Yes, we have one retreat.

Rome:
A Dalmatia - Illyria (*Bounce*)
A Massilia - Tarraconensis
A Neapolis - Sicilia (*Bounce*)
A Ravenna - Roma
F Sardinia - Berber Sea (*Fails*)
F Tyrrhenean Sea - Sicilia (*Bounce*)

Carthage:
F Ausonian Sea - Punic Sea
F Berber Sea Supports A Saguntum - Mauretania (*Cut*)
A Carthage - Thapsus (*Disbanded*)
A Saguntum - Mauretania Persia:
F Aegean Sea - Sparta (*Fails*)
F Byzantium - Macedonia
A Chersonesus - Sarmatia
A Dacia Supports F Byzantium - Macedonia
A Galatia - Sinope
A Miletus - Byzantium
F Minoan Sea Hold
A Sinope - Chersonesus
A Tyre Hold

Greece:
A Macedonia - Illyria (*Dislodged*) [May retreat to Athens or Epirus or OTB]
F Sparta - Ionian Sea Egypt:
F Alexandria - Libyan Sea
F Athens(ec) - Sparta
A Cirta Supports A Mauretania - Carthage
A Crete Hold
F Egyptian Sea Supports A Crete
A Jerusalem Hold
F Libyan Sea - Gulf of Tacape
A Mauretania - Carthage
F Messenian Sea Supports F Athens(ec) - Sparta
A Numidia Hold
F Thapsus Supports A Mauretania - Carthage
F Thebes - Alexandria

Only one retreat:  Macedonia needs to retreat to Athens or Epirus or OTB.  Sam, you have until Friday 5 PM EST but the sooner the better, obviously.

Take care, and let me know if I made any errors.

1648 091010: Spring 1656 Moves - charlesf   (Apr 07, 2010, 12:21 pm)
Hi guys,

first of all, let me say that swords won't be turned into ploughshares as the DIAS game-end proposal failed.

On to a brief summary of this season's events: As in recent times, the focal point of military action remains in the wider North. Thus, the English Navy has now reclaimed Novgorod for the Commonwealth, leaving the Poles to decide whether they will to retreat to Pskov or enter the Karelian wilderness.

Further West, the Poles have equally been compelled to retreat from Greater Poland. Though their retreat route back to Warsaw is blocked as Turkish Janissaries have entered the city on the Vistula.

Next to retaking Novgord, England has sought to pave a path further south through Turkestan, yet Polish winged-hussars blocked that route.

What about the Empire? Well, French troops now also control Holstein as the Spanish Army of Flanders has continued its long trek up into Jutland. Louis XIV now has reason to hope that the eight German electors shall convene later in the year to bestow the Imperial Crown upon the Most Christian King (provided the territorial status quo is maintained through the year's fall).

After this tour d'horizon, let me announce that another DIAS game-end proposal has been submitted to a vote. Its deadline shall coincide with the Summer Retreats deadline, meaning that I shall only adjucate prior to the Friday Retreats deadline should I have both the Polish retreat orders and a clear picture on how the game-end vote goes.

Now, almost time for that critical Bayern vs. ManU game! At least in our circle, sympathies appear to be with the Bavarians. A 3-0 vote so far based on what I've heard. So time to avenge 1999 and show that money ain't everything! Smile

Cheers,

Charles

dc294 Spring '13 results - jlq   (Apr 07, 2010, 6:24 am)
Sam,

Ray is right. The stalemate line is consolidated: Mos, War, Sil and Mun are protected by StP, Liv, Pru and Ber. No possibilities to move there. On the west, Gas will always be protected by Bur S Par-Gas. This means you can't advance on France. On Iberia, Por is safe as long as MAO stays in our hands. And even if you get to put fleets in both NAf and Spa(sc) besides WES, MAO will always be safely protected by NAO and Por, with the surplus of Bre. Tactically, therefore, there's zero chance you'll get the 18th sc.

Diplomatically, there's also zero chance Ray and I will stop cooperating to avoid your solo. Regardless of past differences, it's obvious that we both prefer to participate in a 3-way draw than to be defeated by your solo.

So it is a draw, even if we continue to play ad infinitum. Hope that you'll also vote yes and that we'll end the game on Thursday .

Best,
João

DC310: A Rant on subject headers and a correction - Samnuva   (Apr 07, 2010, 12:18 am)
Okay, we do have a correction, because Doegred didn't put "310" in the subject of his V2 set. So let me be clear on this:
(1) The only orders I will count will be ones with the number "310" in the Subject line.
(2) The reason for this is that all messages with "310" in the subject go into a smart mailbox
(3) When I send confirmations, I rarely look at the actual message. I can't catch if the subject line doesn't have "310" before I confirm.
The result of this is that I may return confirmations of orders that I don't actually end up seeing. This has been a problem for about a year, and up to now, I've just sorted through my entire mailbox. That is no longer an option. It is therefore YOUR responsibility to make sure "310" is in the subject line. I'm sorry about how misleading and unfair this may seem, and if you have any better ideas, send them down.
I will issue a correction for this two more times, but after that, I won't.
Germany's actual orders are
F Kie-Den
A Ber-Kie
A Mun-Ruhr

DC310: Umbra Spring 1901 Adjudication - Samnuva   (Apr 06, 2010, 11:39 pm)
And here we go! Spring 1901 has come. Nobody has NMR'd, but I only received one order from Italy. As a heads up, very soon, I will start doing my Adjudications in JDip, not RP. I'll talk a little more about that when it happens. Anyway, A bounce sets the scene in Central Europe, as people move to take over the Russo-German border.
In another unusual occurrence, the Black Sea goes fleetless in spring 1901, but are perhaps made up by the considerable english Naval presence in the North Sea. Remember, I won't get orders that don't have 310 in the subject box. Fall 1901 Will be due Monday the 12th at 3 PM ET, 19:00 GMT. If I didn't get an order since It didn't get into my DC310 filter, tell me, and I'll correct this. Until next time, good luck!

DC280 Winter 1909 adjustments - bobbarkerfan1   (Apr 06, 2010, 8:21 pm)
Hey everybody,

Guess who is right on time this turn? I am back on track, and thank you for getting adjustments in on time those of you who had them. We move on to a new decade, 1910, and with it comes a number of draw proposals that will need to be voted for along with spring orders this turn. Here they are:

ADJUSTMENTS:
Austria:
Build F Trieste

France:
Remove A Holland

DRAW PROPOSALS:
Here are the proposed EoG draws:

DIAS with Russia and Austria victory
DIAS with Russia, Austria and Italy victory
DIAS with Russia, Austria and France victory
DIAS with Austria and France victory
DIAS with Austria, France and Italy victory

If you can send me a "yes" or "no" vote for each individual draw proposal that would be great. Not sure what the chances are of multiple draws passing, but if that does indeed happen I will check the rules and make sure I take the appropriate action.

DEADLINE:
You had a decent amount of time for the winter period to negotiate, but there are a few EoGs that need to be voted for, so I'll make the spring 1910 deadline ***Saturday, April 10th, 9:00pm EST*** If this doesn't work for anybody let me know and I can add time or whatever is necessary.

Good evening everyone,

Hope you all had a great week! The drama continues to build here as we kick off the new decade. The Russians go on an all out offensive while the French hold tight. Well, this is ironic. The angry email exchange about the rule change is rendered moot, as Rob failed to send in a retreat, so his unit IS, in fact, disbanded. Otherwise, France retreats Eng- Mao. Fall -at- 3:00 on Thursday!

1648 091010: Draw Proposal Vote - charlesf   (Apr 06, 2010, 3:49 pm)
Hi guys,

I'm now back from my "A Bra-Ste" bike tour and there's one matter at hand I need to write you about. A DIAS draw proposal has been submitted to me and I'm now putting that to a vote. The deadline coincides with our Wednesday 6 PM CET deadline.

Tomorrow, I shall try to get the adjucation done prior to the Champions League kick-off. Looking good for Bayern vs. ManU after that classy first-leg game last week. Smile

Hi guys,

A DIAS draw proposal has been submitted to me and
I'm now putting that to a vote. The deadline coincides with our Friday 6 PM CET
deadline.

I might adjucate prior to the deadline should the DIAS fail.

Well, well... Seems like Bayern had some of that Turkish fervour I spoke
of. Though in the case of Ribéry, arguably too much so. :p Poor guy's having a
nightmarish week. Though I can't see the French authorities actually sending him
to prison...

WB10 DC295 IS OVER! AIR WITH E SURVIVAL - catsfather   (Apr 06, 2010, 1:46 pm)
Michael, thanks for doing the work. I've GM'd one game and I'm trying
to muster the courage to do another. If any players haven't GM'd one -
it's more worry than I really like, but it does give you an interesting
insight into how those orders you sent are handled and, if you watch the
orders come in, how preliminary orders change as allies talk.
