DC290 Autumn 1902 retreat - bobbarkerfan1   (Mar 19, 2010, 8:26 pm)
Hey everyone,

We have entered a grace period for this winter period. Thank you those of you who sent me builds or who are waiting because they have no adjustments. I hate to have to use up a grace period during the winter, but I have to keep consistant with my rules.

Thanks!

DC280 Fall 1908 adjudication - bobbarkerfan1   (Mar 19, 2010, 7:45 pm)
Hey everyone.

I apologize for not getting this out Tuesday. I got this game confused with my other game, and thought I had set the deadline of both to tonight. It wasn't until I just checked my sent folder and saw the deadline that I realized the deadline was Tuesday. I'm sorry about that, I'm going to start putting these things down on my calendar now so I don't forget. Here are your results:

1.)Draw including all survivors - FAILS
2.)Draw between Russia and Austria with survival for everyone else - FAILS
3.)Draw between Russia, Austria and France with survival for everyone else - FAILS

I got a few e-mails regarding how the voting works. Again, I apologize for not clearing this up beforehand, I will take note in the future, this is still my first go at GMing, so bear with me. The vote passes if all remaining players vote "yes". A vote fails if at least one player doesn't vote or votes "no". Also, if multiple votes pass, the vote that includes the most survivors will be used. Hopefully that answers your questions.

ORDERS:
Russia:
Build F St Petersburg(nc)
Build A Warsaw

DEADLINE:
The deadline(that I will remember this time) for spring 1909 will be ***Friday, March 26th, 9:00pm EST*** This is so that I remember what day it is, and I have more time on the weekends. If I get orders from everyone marked "final" then I will adjudicate early.

Apparently something got lost in translation where it says: A Mun falls back to Berlin (rumor is that the beer is better there anyway. hurumph!). The Berlin Bear is famous in and outside Germany; the beer is actually better in Bavaria (Beieren) of which Munich is its capital.
Sorry to have to disappoint you.

All,
We have a few retreats needed in addition to our normal Winter adjustments. Please send those to me as well as Winter adjustments. Those are due tomorrow!

Retreats:
French F Edi can retreat to Cly or OTB
French A Rome can retreat to Tus or OTB

Our adjustments are as follows:

Please don't forget to send me orders as well as Fredrik and the orders box! Same deadline (sorry today was later than you normally see...it was a day indeed). Tomorrow will be more timely in the afternoon.

A Mun falls back to Berlin (rumor is that the beer is better there anyway. hurumph!)

[quote:5003fb519a] Well, Rob and Dale both NMR again. However, with France playing defense the only tangible effect is France gaining Kiel (and Russia gaining warsaw).

Since I actually got orders from the eastern countries, things are a lot more interesting there. The dismemberment of Turkey continues, with another unit destroyed. The one-time underdogs Italy and Russia each have seven centers now, which makes them equal to England in strength. France still holds a commanding lead at 10 centers, but anything can happen at this point.

No retreats are needed, so we roll into winter. Austria is now "officially" eliminated, and I need builds from Russia and France, and a disband from Germany. Those are due, as always, on Friday at 15:00 GMT.

GM’s remarks:

Sorry guys, I had really thought this was going to be an easy trip for me.  Unfortunately, reality isn’t matching my preconceptions.

I have two pieces of business for your; first, the English retreat was performed automatically as it was the only viable province for the retreat.  However, if you would have preferred the unit retreat off-the-board Eric; please let me know and I will try to get out a correction with the Build/Disbands tomorrow.

Second, I have an AEG End Game proposal for your consideration.  Please provide your votes with your Build/Disband orders.  As usual, everyone with at least 1 supply center has a vote and if the vote is unanimous, the game is over.  However, if it is not unanimous, then I will need your orders to post the winter results.  Thanks.

I tried to submit moves for you this past turn included in my own, but I guess our friendly neighborhood GM didn't publish them.

All your units tried to support Wes-Mao in my imaginary moves. I guess it worked. Now I just have to figue out what to make your units do this turn!

dc296 Round 1 Board 6 - Fall 1910 Results: No Peac... - garry.bledsoe   (Mar 18, 2010, 7:48 pm)
A Turn Indeed.EGP Fails.
Russia Involved in Heavy Center Trading
France Gets Pushed Back a Bit
Germany Continues to "Lay Low"

All,
We have a few retreats needed in addition to our normal Winter adjustments. Please send those to me as well as Winter adjustments. Those are due tomorrow!

Retreats:
French F Edi can retreat to Cly or OTB
French A Rome can retreat to Tus or OTB
Russian A Mun can retreat to Ber, Boh or OTB.

Our adjustments are as follows:
Austria: None
France: Remove 2 (unless one or more of the retreats is OTB; if so, reduce that number accordingly)
Germany: None
Russia: Build 2 (unless Mun retreats OTB and then it is 3)

Please don't forget to send me orders as well as Fredrik and the orders box! Same deadline (sorry today was later than you normally see...it was a day indeed). Tomorrow will be more timely in the afternoon.

Garry

No need to apologize. you made my day! Smile

I tried to submit moves for you this past turn included in my own, but I guess our friendly neighborhood GM didn't publish them.

All your units tried to support Wes-Mao in my imaginary moves. I guess it worked. Now I just have to figue out what to make your units do this turn!

You don't really think I'd propose such rubbish right? I'm firmly of
the stance that if anyone would settle for losing then just step aside
now... (and give me your centers please)

I'm retreating A Novi Sad - Pecs

And really, I have the second highest SC total, it's purely insulting
not to include me in the draw, thanks Mike!

[quote:9d62ea4058][quote:9d62ea4058]Benjamin Hester <screwtape777-at-gmail.com> 03/18/10 5:53 PM >>>

[/quote:9d62ea4058][/quote:9d62ea4058]Founded by Greek settlers from Syracuse in 387 BC, Ancona has been a
battlefield throughout its existence. Through Rome, the barbarians,
the Byzantines, and the papacy, Ancona has been a fortress, sending
forth great armies and fleets (in the Illyrian War, the Crusades, and
its maritime years), and unfortunately receiving them back in exchange
(the barbarians, the papacy, and Napoleon).

So Ancona finds itself on the receiving end of invading forces here -
as Greeks, Italians, and Austrians all fight over what was until
recently a Serbian territory. Good to see my variant functions as
intended, but whew! Smile In other news, Rome remains intact, though
the attempted invasion of Ancona is repulsed by Austrian and Greek
forces. Serbia rises from the brink of extinction to reclaim Sarajevo
and end the year even in SCs once again, despite all odds. Austria
continues their tenacious defense, and would even be building this
season, except that they have nowhere available to place the build.
The Ottomans are not so lucky, losing control of Salonika and Ankara
to fall to a single SC in Izmir remaining.
