Oh man. Apparently the trick here is convincing everyone you are named something different. The hardest decision was definitely attacking you, Alan. We were working very well together, and we had finally turned the tide against Brazil.

My apologies - I NEVER meant to imply that this was not a good
win.  Gary did an excellent job of playing the players as well as the
game and that's generally how you win.  No hard feelings at all.

Easy gents,

It's a game, remember?  If you really want to point fingers, almost any solo is the fault of everyone else for not banding together to stop it.  Why not add Fredrik to your list for sending lots of units north for the sake of a few Venezuelan centres when the real threat was in the south?  Or Venezuela and me for not promising to hold back while Bolivia and Brazil worked together against the Chile-Paraguay alliance while it was still together?

Gary's played a good game and his stab for the solo was well timed.  This is a good win.

2-way draw?

Bah!

That's right, this game is henceforth to be remembered as Not Now, I've Got To Stab My Brazillian Llama Friend... as Chile makes a move to get his first solo in seven years of play here at diplomaticcorp... Can it be stopped?

Find out next Wed!  3pm Central.

DC290 Fall 1902 adjudications - bobbarkerfan1   (Mar 13, 2010, 6:34 pm)
Hey everyone,

Thanks for waiting, sorry about the delay. Thank you everyone for getting orders in on time. Justin will be without a grace period as well as Kyle, so keep that in mind. Very active turn negotiation wise, I'm sure there was a lot more going on that wasn't CC'd to me, but that's great. Games are more fun when everyone is getting involved. And I'd like to just remind everyone that as a GM, I am not getting involved in anything that is going on(besides adjudicating) unless there is a question directed to me.

With that being said, there was a lot of bouncing and support cutting in Scandinavia between the Russians, Germans and British. The Russians make no movement and lose an SC to the Turks. The British make a landing in Northern France and the Germans get dislodged in Munich, but hold onto Belgium. France gets two SCs, Italians land in Africa, The Turks begin the conquest of Russia, and the Austrians continue their defensive play. The German army in Munich will need to be retreated.

PRESS:
VIENNA, October, 1902

I would like to offer the most sincere apology possible to all of the players in the game.

I now recognize that I have a lying problem. Really...more of a lying disease. Some days I have to lie before I get out of bed. I find myself lying several times each morning. I used to pass this off as just being misquoted, but that doesn't work anymore. I even lie to the cashier at drive up restaurants about my lunch order. I lie in the afternoon...and to my wife. I feel so ashamed.

I am planning to go to my first Liar's Annonymous meeting tonight. Honest. I hope that the twelve steps will help me conquer this problem of mine and that I may some day regain your trust.

I'm sure you are all very angry, and I wouldn't be surprised if you held my behavior against me...but I want to try to do something to make amens...

I have an idea...

What say I let you guys vote on who will control my forces for the coming year. If you vote for yourself you get 1/2 vote...if you vote for another country they will get a full vote...winner needs to get their orders to me by midday Friday?

Humbly, and with god's help,

Joe
(michael.alan.walters-at-gmail.com)

END PRESS

Matt, if you can get the retreat in as soon as you can that'd be great! Hope you all have a good weekend!

Easy gents,

It's a game, remember? If you really want to point fingers, almost any solo is the fault of everyone else for not banding together to stop it. Why not add Fredrik to your list for sending lots of units north for the sake of a few Venezuelan centres when the real threat was in the south? DC290 grace period - bobbarkerfan1   (Mar 13, 2010, 11:29 am)
I apologize everyone for not getting this out last night. The missing set of orders have until 9:00pm EST tonight. I will adjudicate as soon as I get them. And like always, you all can fix/edit orders if need be.

Again, sorry about not letting you know last night, I'll try to make a habit of at least checking if all orders are in before the deadline. Just been a hell of a week for me, but this upcoming week will be a nice change of pace for me.

Thanks,

Joey

DC280 Fall 1908 adjudication - bobbarkerfan1   (Mar 13, 2010, 11:14 am)
Sorry I didn't get this out last night everyone, but I thank you all for getting orders in before the deadline. We have very sad news this turn. The kaiser has fallen. I appreciate your efforts and staying with the game Jeff, thanks! I just disbanded your army instead of retreating it because a disband would need to be ordered in the winter anyway. But to get back to the fall, a summary of events. The Russians pick up the two German SCs, but aside from that achieve very little. The Italians retreat back into Africa, and somehow still hold onto Smyrna. The French use all their units for defensive measures, and Austria begins a northward push. And finally, we have draw proposals!

1.)Draw including all survivors
2.)Draw between Russia and Austria with survival for everyone else
3.)Draw between Russia, Austria and France with survival for everyone else

If you could include a "yes" or "no" vote for each one of these with your adjustments(or if you don't have adjustments then just send me your vote) that would be great. A vote not received will just be marked as a "no" vote, so keep that in mind!

DC280 Fall 1908 adjudication (dc280) bobbarkerfan1 Mar 19, 07:45 pm
Hey everyone.

I apologize for not getting this out Tuesday. I got this game confused with my other game, and thought I had set the deadline of both to tonight. It wasn't until I just checked my sent folder and saw the deadline that I realized the deadline was Tuesday. I'm sorry about that, I'm going to start putting these things down on my calendar now so I don't forget. Here are your results:

1.)Draw including all survivors - FAILS
2.)Draw between Russia and Austria with survival for everyone else - FAILS
3.)Draw between Russia, Austria and France with survival for everyone else - FAILS

I got a few e-mails regarding how the voting works. Again, I apologize for not clearing this up beforehand, I will take note in the future, this is still my first go at GMing, so bear with me. The vote passes if all remaining players vote "yes". A vote fails if at least one player doesn't vote or votes "no". Also, if multiple votes pass, the vote that includes the most survivors will be used. Hopefully that answers your questions.

ORDERS:
Russia:
Build F St Petersburg(nc)
Build A Warsaw

DEADLINE:
The deadline(that I will remember this time) for spring 1909 will be ***Friday, March 26th, 9:00pm EST*** This is so that I remember what day it is, and I have more time on the weekends. If I get orders from everyone marked "final" then I will adjudicate early.

PLAYERS:
Ctry : Russia
Name : Tim Fuhrmeister
Email : timfuhrmeister(at)hotmail.com (timfuhrmeister(at)hotmail.com)
Ctry : Italy
Name : Fredrik Blom

Sorry again! Get those orders in! and I'll get the adjudication out!

Quite irritating though. I did send moves, but they never seemed to leave the computer, which is rather embarrassing for a person doing what I do for a living. Rubbish.

DC 293: Illini d. Badgers - phantomas   (Mar 13, 2010, 3:18 am)
Thanks Adam to have GMed our game with such punctuality and rigour.

Thanks to other players too despite the fact I regret that the main western
countries never found an agreement (or did it too late) to stop the R/T
alliance. Despite his efforts, Italy can't stop a juggernaut alone Smile

And once again this demonstrate that a good juggernaut is always deadly if
it's not halted very soon.

Thanks to all

Regards,

Jluc.

By consensus final vote, Russia and Turkey win DC293 in a 2-way draw. I'll
update the club stats over the weekend.

Congratulations to Chris and Jeff on a Juggernaut that juggered at naught to
jigger the sought-for victory.

Many thanks to our fallen comrades, from a brutal 3-year Austria (David) to
a vivisected Germany (Jeremiah) to a punctually reliable Italy (Jean-Luc) to
an English stiff upper lip with one more trick up his sleeve survivor (Eric)
to a 3-NMR France who heroically returned to the fray survivor (Joe).

I would like to give a special thanks to Chris who early in the game started
routinely narrating his orders and thus presented a window into his
machinations. I really enjoyed them, even if all I was allowed to write
back, "Yup. That's an interpretation, alright" or "Well, I hope that works
out for you." Other players gave me peeks into their thoughts (and I was
grateful for those, too).

As you know, Round 2 starts soon. I hope all of you sign up for another go.
I'm pretty sure none of you will face each another in the second round. But
you might get me as your GM again if fate (and the Mods) so declare.

Please DO submit EOGs.

Again, congratulations to the Tsar and the Sultan.

Adam

DC 293: Illini d. Badgers - AceRimmer   (Mar 12, 2010, 8:34 pm)
By consensus final vote, Russia and Turkey win DC293 in a 2-way draw. I'll update the club stats over the weekend.

Congratulations to Chris and Jeff on a Juggernaut that juggered at naught to jigger the sought-for victory.

Many thanks to our fallen comrades, from a brutal 3-year Austria (David) to a vivisected Germany (Jeremiah) to a punctually reliable Italy (Jean-Luc) to an English stiff upper lip with one more trick up his sleeve survivor (Eric) to a 3-NMR France who heroically returned to the fray survivor (Joe).

I would like to give a special thanks to Chris who early in the game started routinely narrating his orders and thus presented a window into his machinations. I really enjoyed them, even if all I was allowed to write back, "Yup. That's an interpretation, alright" or "Well, I hope that works out for you." Other players gave me peeks into their thoughts (and I was grateful for those, too).

As you know, Round 2 starts soon. I hope all of you sign up for another go. I'm pretty sure none of you will face each another in the second round. But you might get me as your GM again if fate (and the Mods) so declare.

Please DO submit EOGs.

Again, congratulations to the Tsar and the Sultan.

Adam

Thanks Adam to have GMed our game with such punctuality and rigour.

Thanks to other players too despite the fact I regret that the main western
countries never found an agreement (or did it too late) to stop the R/T
alliance. Despite his efforts, Italy can't stop a juggernaut alone Smile

And once again this demonstrate that a good juggernaut is always deadly if
it's not halted very soon.

Thanks to all

Regards,

Jluc.
