DC267 Winter 2013 Adjustments - MattTheLesser   (Oct 25, 2009, 6:31 pm)
So, after a bit of a delay, we're back on track. Our new czar begins
his reign by scaling down, removing F Ural Mountains and A Severnaya
Zemlya. Meanwhile, Denmark and Canada each build a pair of armies, in
Nuuk and Station Nord and Churchill and Yellowknife, respectively.

The next deadline will be for Spring 2014 moves and that will come our
way this Thursday, October 29, at 9 pm eastern.

Folks,
I've yet to receive the retreat I was waiting on. I've given the player until mid-afternoon tomorrow (Sunday) to get it to me. I will adjudicate then, whether I have a retreat or not.

DC 260 (Asian): Persia Abandoned - AceRimmer   (Oct 25, 2009, 10:34 am)
The subject line says it all. I've already opened up the position on the DC website for a replacement. Depending upon how soon we get a replacement, the new Persia will be given until the end of the week to make acquaintances and submit misorders.

DC226 Before Fall Press! - hapolley   (Oct 24, 2009, 2:07 pm)
Dearest Bertie,

Having come, yet failed, within a couple of SC's of achieving critical mass, I note the Sultan has woken from his slumbers and spoken for the first time...
Let not his silver tongued words sway you from our common course!
This very season let your weary sailors experience the fleshpots of NAP, they deserve time ashore after so many long months of service!
The Turk must be forced out, and the the prize of the Ionian will then lie open!
I will do my utmost to help you retrieve MOS.
In return all I would ask is that you consider the plea of my last missive for some peaceful sleep, and withdraw DEN and MAO to more quiet seas.

Keep the faith!

Yours affectionately,

Willie

DC-224 Slaughter of Pastry-Time - Summer 12 - Coll... - former.trout   (Oct 24, 2009, 11:02 am)
Heya folks,

All retreats found their way in - although one power needed a little extra time to organize themselves.  The Rogues fall back to Kender and Orboros while the Fairies find their way to Fionavar.

Thats the grim tidings for the Summer - deadline for Fall 12 orders will be set for Wednesday, October 27th (11:59 PM GMT).  As always, please let me know if you spot any errors.

(The map will be out shortly - just need to drive home, boot the old clunkster up, and send it out.  ETA 1 - 2 hours.)

Cheers!

DCI f03 results! (correction) - FuzzyLogic   (Oct 22, 2009, 10:22 pm)
English A London did not Hold. Rather, A Lon "sits in schoolhouses and practices rudimentary Norwegian on the hopes that the Norwegian settlers bring with them hot Norwegian ladies looking for a downtrodden English gentleman". My bad...

In light of the order, if the Norwegians wish to build a "Norwegian lady looking for downtrodden English gentlemen" with their build, I'll allow it.

Gentlemen,

Well - we're off to a rough start here. Despite an extra week and a reminder a few days ago we've got an NMR from Turkey, which means that all his units stay where they are. Another NMR this season will see a replacement player brought in. The house rules state allow for the replacement to have a small time for negotiations in that case which I will allow.

Other than that all the orders were able to be carried out except for a slight disagreement (?) over who should occupy the English Channel.

No adjustments are called for, so we just move on to the next major season - Fall 1901. Deadline will be a week from now, Wednesday, 28th of October, 7 PM GMT, as usual. Again, I strongly urge you to submit preliminaries as soon as possible, since I will be out of town from Sunday to Wednesday, and will be unable to confirm moves at that point in time. You can keep on sending me ordersets until the start of the adjudication though - just make sure you label them with a number or something so that I'll know which one is the latest.

Any mistakes that I've made should be brought to my attention as soon as possible.

Dan, quoting Fredrik’s deadline:

I'll see if we can keep a weekly schedule, and make the adjudications be due on Wednesday evenings at 8:00pm ( Sweden , GMT + 1). The first turn will now be due the 21th of October, which should leave Tony plenty of time to talk to you all.

He said this twice. Once in the game-start mail, and then again in the mail introducing our new Italian -- there was no ambiguity.

If you were a newbie I’d grant you the “didn’t know it was a time and not a day” but you’ve been around the block this is your 6th game. Why no prelims?

All said, Turkey is the least awful country to NMR with in the first year due to your corner position. Now -- what shall we do about these Bulgarians that were fully expecting to be ransacked by the Turks in every single Diplomacy game ever played. It’s like groundhog day for Bulgaria -- only instead it’s Spring 1901, Turks invade. And this was the one game they woke up and found no rule-imposing Sultan there. Whatever will they do??? Smile

DC224- Spring 12 Fairy Correction - former.trout   (Oct 21, 2009, 10:05 pm)
Heya folks,

Thanks to the player who caught this one.  For some reason, the Realworld adjudication shows the Fairy army in Port Ghaast as failing in its move to Cliffs Of Insanity.  This is rubbish, as there is no reason why that move should have failed.

Please consider that army to be located in the Cliffs.  I will send out an updated map, and maybe an updated file for Realworld, as soon as I get back to my computer at home.

Cheers,

Trout

DC-224 Spring 12 - There's A Hole In The Bucket - former.trout   (Oct 21, 2009, 6:47 pm)
Dear Liza, a hole! ...

Both missing sets of orders came flying in while I was at work.  I pine for the days when my gmail account wasn't restricted while on the clock...  Lemme tell you.   =P

In any event, the Spring turn brings even more to and fro between the powers - and long closed and dusty battle fronts all of a sudden seem to see action once more!

Three retreats are needed - two from the Rogues and one from the Faeries.  Deadline will be set for Friday, November 23rd (11:59 PM GMT).  (Sorry guys, I'd set them for tomorrow night, but with my evening plans already set there's no WAY I'd be able to adjudicate...)

Please let me know if you spot any errors.  I hate to admit it, but they do sometimes happen...

Cheers!

Campfire Song Trout
