Damned, I've messed the builds up. Italy has a retreat (or an OTB). Then... England has a build.Germany removes one.
Turkey has three builds.(Italy has a build if they OTB). Desperately sorry for that mistake. Let's put the deadling back to 8:00am GMT on Saturday.

The game is off to a good start, with no NMRs, no misorders and plenty to negotiate about before the Fall.

*** Deadline for Fall 1901: Friday 21st March at 1600 GMT sharp *** - why not send those preliminary orders now, while you remember?

I am repeating the ‘Small Print’ again - please note the stuff about sending numbered orders in a separate email. I had to search for some of them this time… Also, although DC uses numbers, I find the names easier to spot in a list, so please include DC489 Camus in your Subject.

Note that for technical reasons, this adjudication often fails to upload to the DC website, so you should keep these emails for reference. The maps etc on the website will be kept up-to-date. I also send you the .jdip game file each time. On the website, I upload it, but change the name to .dpy - if you download it from there, rename it to .jdip
The Game Forum email address should now be working OK: dc489(at)diplomaticcorp.com

Daily Emperor Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!

Geneva, May 26 1901 Switzerland would like to make it known that by no means should any major power enter.  We have heard rumours about Bulgaria, Serbia and Holland being invaded but we will tolerate no such inconveniences.  The German, French, and Austrian expeditions have been summarily executed by being boiled in cheese, while the Italians were sent home naked after being hosed down to dampen the awful stench.  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Small Print

I am very much of the persuasion that deadlines are deadlines. Don't be late!

I may (but will not necessarily) remind you of the deadline. I will acknowledge orders received. Latecomers stand a big risk of NMRing! Please put the Game Number, Game Name, Power, Season and order version in the Subject of a new email - don’t  just reply to mine, or your orders may be missed. If you send preliminary orders (and you should) I will use them if you send no others (I will always use the last orders you send), so no need to reconfirm if you don’t change them.

Like this:  DC489 Camus / Spring 1901 / England v1

The deadlines are set so that I have a good chance to adjudicate without delay. If there is to be a delay I will let you know.

The deadlines will be a bit longer for a while, as I am travelling around. Please note, in answer to a couple of you who have enquired recently: in general, except for some emergency. I will not usually hold over a game once the deadline has been set (I don't think it fair on the players or on the GM), but I am always very pleased to help if you let me know beforehand that you would like longer deadlines. I am working to the pattern of about 1 week per major season, very short (24 hours) deadlines for retreats, but 48 hours if I think the position needs it, and 24 hours for Winter adjustments.

As always: send me some preliminary orders now! If you get problems at work or the internet breaks down, or you temporarily lose track of time, or you get ill, or perhaps you have a hot date on the day of the deadline and forget to write orders, then your prelims will save you from NMR and potential anarchy!

Thanks to those who are giving me the occasional summary of how you see the game going - much appreciated!

You don't get maps this turn, and I'm giving you a build/disband list that I'm editing manually.  It's a bit of a story, but the "edit map" function in Realpolitik is limited.  I will, hopefully, have a fully restored RP file for the spring turn. I still don't know what happened to the original file, but I can't open either the spring or fall turns since I closed them. Fortunately for me I created bitmap images of them before I closed them.

So, the .gif I sent last is the current map, with the exception that the Russian fleet in Baltic is now gone. I've attached it again.

DC464 - Spring 1911 - Zoterik   (Mar 18, 2014, 6:30 pm)
The battle rages on, but another draw proposal has been set forth.  1911 is marked by the apparently collapse of friendly relations between France and Austria, as French troops mysteriously withdraw from the German border, but rightfully so, as Austria sets forth its claim to Tunis.  Germany does not advance into France, but the battle rages on for the spoils of Britain.  On Germany's other front, Tyrolia falls but in such a way that Austria appears to have suffered but a flesh wound.  I presume that you guys know better than I what is going on, because I can't unravel this mystery.

Retreats:

Austrian A Tyrolia can retreat to Piedmont, Trieste, or Venice.
German F North Sea can retreat to Denmark, Edinburgh, Heligoland Bight, or Norwegian Sea.

Draw Proposal:
A/F/G/T (4-way DIAS), to expire at Fall 1911 adjudication.
