DC 260: NMR - AceRimmer (Aug 18, 2009, 2:00 pm) |
So, here's the thing. There's nobody absolutely abusing the system. But it feels like we never quite get a movement adjudication out on time. This time, it's Persia with his first NMR.
The NMR race, if you're curious, goes:
Siberia 0
Japan 1
Persia 1
India 2
Indonesia 2
So, I'll adjudicate when I hear from Persia. Timely orders tend to make for more entertaining games!

DC266 Deadline Extension - A Second Grace Used - MattTheLesser (Aug 18, 2009, 11:03 am) |
I am missing orders from a different player this time, despite the fact
that he had a lot of extra time after the deadline to submit orders
since I am on vacation and have not had internet access for the last
three days. That player has been notified, and the deadline has been
extended 24 hours from right now.
That means the new deadline for all is tomorrow, August 19, at 12 noon
eastern - note the time!

The grind continues!
Nah, just kidding. It's time to lean back, smoke yourselves some kippers -- I'll be back for breakfast.
A four-way draw is declared! Pop the corks! Shower in champagne! Dance with your Aunt Rhonda! (Now, is she the one with the hot rod body? Or the one with the hairy legs?) Pop in the Kool & the Gang and sing an off-key rendition of "Celebration".
And then write your EoG. If you can detach yourselves from the recent game play, I think you'll discover that you actually played a very interesting game. What started with a Western Triple was thwarted by an Eastern Triple, quickly devolved into a massacre of the central powers, and then settled into a long grind to find a stable draw. Many congratulations are, in fact, well deserved all around the board, even amongst those who were eliminated.
Just as an informational note -- lest I forget it later -- we would've had a draw a few game years ago, but Italy's 2nd consecutive NMR squelched it.
Once again, good game all. Enjoy a well-earned rest.

DC212 Spring 1915 - The Sky Has Fallen - former.trout (Aug 16, 2009, 10:27 pm) |
Hi there guys,
I gave some extra time for the order clarification, but in the end
there was no order forthcoming for the English army to convoy across
to Norway. Apologies to Bill, but the adjudication has to be by the
rules and thus the convoy fails to happen. Though the issue might be
a moot point, as Austria - seizing on some opportunistic Russian
movement - marches forcefully into Moscow...
Neither end-game proposal gains enough support...
There was one retreat from the Spring, the aforementioned Russian in
Moscow. With only Livonia to retreat to though, I took the liberty
and moved the army there automatically. (Please just let me know if
OTB is preferred.)
With that, we come to what has a very strong chance of being the last
Fall of the war. Deadline for Fall 1915 orders will be set for
Saturday, August 22nd (11:59 PM GMT). This is a weekend deadline - so
those of you without access on the weekend please ensure that you send
in prelims.
Just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers everyone!

DC-224 Slaughter of Deadline-Time - Fall 09 - Ghas... - former.trout (Aug 16, 2009, 9:59 pm) |
Heya you crazy kids!
Thanks to the quick eyes of Mr. Hoffman, I have a few errata to
announce. When entering the Ogre orders, I was apparently snorting
the crack. Yikes.
Two orders were messed up by yours truly:
F Garthim -> Cormyr
F Twisted Tunnels Support Yggdrasil -> Undermountain.
Net change as a result:
- Dwarves succeed into Undermountain, NOT the Trolls, and thus do not
need to submit a retreat or remove a unit (being at 8 centers).
- Trolls gain one build with 15 centers (NOT two builds as previously
advertised).
- Ogres do NOT take Garthim and remain at 14 centers (voiding the
previously mentioned Ogre build).
- Elves gain a build as they are now at 3 centers.
I will issue a revised map and .dpw file as soon as my dial-up
connection and shared computer time permits. The Faerie and Undead
retreat remain due on Tuesday.
And finally, I'd like to introduce everyone to a very friendly bloke
by the name of Nigel Phillips. He has been nice (and crazy) enough to
offer to take on the Archer position. I will send a revised player
list with the aforementioned .dpw file, but I'd definitely like to
take this chance to welcome Nigel to the slaughter. Thanks for
joining us!
Apologies to all and sundry for the errata - and my thanks to Mike for
the quick catch.
Cheers!

Woo-hoo! My summer nemesis, the Fall 09 turn, is at last adjudicated

The Wizards provide a crucial support cut, allowing Faerie control of
Mt Nimro - but in turn the Wizes are hosed by the sneaky little Elves

The Dwarves put up a good fight, but have to fall back before the
thuggish Trolls chant of "All your Undermountain are belong to Us!"
The Rogues continue to pummel the Knights, but lose a crucial center in Cathal.
While the Ogres loom in the south, waving their pistols in the air and
roaring "Centers?! We won't take your centers. We don't need no
steeenking centers!!" (Must be from that movie sequal - Ogres of the
Sierra Madre)

DC250 MAIB - Spring 1907 Deadline Extension - former.trout (Aug 15, 2009, 11:09 pm) |
Oh.... Crash and burn... Ouch.
We're two wings short of a plane here for the Spring 07 flight. I've
notified the players in question and hopefully they will get back to
me shortly. However, due to the summer weekend net access draught,
we'll provide a little more time for the turn and extend until Monday,
August 17th (11:59 PM GMT).
Sorry about the delay folks. Cheers,
Trout

<psst> This is your Captain speaking. Please be advised that we have
achieved our cruising altitude and that your Spring 1907 orders are
due in approximately just over 20 hours. On behalf of "My Army Is
Bigger Airlines" we'd like to thank you for flying with us.
And remember - if you barf in the bag, you take the bag home.
Cheers!

DC266 German Chancellor on holiday - charlesf (Aug 15, 2009, 10:17 pm) |
Hi guys,
I'm on a cycling holiday from now until 10 September. My internet access
will hence be spotty. Just thought I'd give you a heads-up, so you know that
a German response may take a day or two.
Cheers,
Charles
