I have received new build orders from Austria; seems Dan isn't as isolated as he assumed he would be.
I do not want to assume everyone is getting these messages over the weekend. Still, I already have the majority of your Build orders. Therefore, I would like to change the Deadline for the Winter Builds to Tuesday (8/1 by 24:00 pm GMT. If anyone has a problem with this please let me know.

My apologies, but occasionally, when you try to "shorten" a deadline, there are those that went away with the original deadline in mind and do not come back until that deadline is due.
There are two outstanding sets of orders and I have sent the countries that I am missing orders from personal requests for orders. So, I will post the Build/Disband Orders as soon as I receive builds those builds. Or . . . I will begin looking for replacements shortly after the original deadline of Monday, August 24, 2009, 24:00 hrs GMT.

*sigh* It seems that we have lost Josh (Turkey). His orders are the outstanding set of orders that we have all been waiting on. Has anyone heard from Josh?
Josh, if you are still out there, this is your one and only warning. If I do not hear from you in the next 24 hours, I will assume you have abandoned the position and immediately begin seeking a replacement. Also, you may want to consider posting Preliminary Orders. According to the house rules, should you be late again, you will be removed without any further warnings.
Preliminary or Provisional Orders (whatever you are use to calling them) is a good idea for everyone. I personally always post a preliminary set of orders with my GM in the games I play. However, I may later change them if the negotiations go a different direction that I expected. So, I not only advocate of their use, but use them myself as well.
Anyway, my apologies to all for the long delay in this Winter Build/Disband season (I hope you all have put it to good use). But, it seems we are going to be delayed for a little while longer.

I have two issues of concern; one minor, one major. First, of minor concern, some of you are simply hitting reply to my last message to you in order to send me your orders. This is, strictly, not by the House Rules. I have not penalized any one for this. However, if I can’t find your orders, I will NMR you. Is it really that hard to change the subject of the email, after you have hit reply, to include the Game Number, your Country, and the Game year per the House Rules?
Second, of major concern, all orders shall be a complete set of orders. I will not chase piece-meal orders through several emails later in the game when some of you will have 8, 10, 12, or more units. Therefore, at least one of you will find that your partial set of orders changing the orders for one or more units was not accepted. Whether this turned out to be a boon or a detriment, only time will tell; however, no partial set of orders will be accepted, per the House Rules.
If you have not already taken a moment to read the House Rules, please do so. If you no longer have a copy of them, I will be only too happy to send you another copy. Thanks.

I must agree completely with Joe in this case. The player in question had far reaching effects on this game and the 'still to be determined' outcome. It shows a complete lack of respect for the players that are being affected, and personally I think there should be SOME sort of repercussions for this type of poor play. I know we all have times in our lives where nmrs happen, but starting a new game while continually nmring in another is inexcusable.

The long wait is over! We have all the builds in and ready to go. Some interesting developments I think I see going on, but then again, I'm not privy to all your conversations. As far as I know, we're free of delays now for quite a while, so we'll be able to get the game going at a fairly good clip.
Just a little note about builds... I'm not a very picky GM, but some are. Your builds should be written in the form you see below. I got some orders that just said "F location" and while I know exactly what you mean, some people will actually want "Build F location." Just a little heads up for some of your future games.

The solo proposal is voted down, so we will progress to 1909! And 1909
will begin with Dark just two centers away from a solo as he assimilates
Garnet this winter and brings his total up to 9. Further, Dark pulls a
nice bit of positioning this fall with a convoy to Fire; can he be
stopped? Only time will tell.
There was only one retreat and it only had one option, so I have
retreated Blue A Cerulean - Royal. Hugh, just let me know if you want
it OTB by sending me a build that you would gain by doing so. Winter
1908 requires a Dark build and a Yellow disband; please have those to me
by tomorrow at 9 eastern.

Fall 2011 is all about Russia, as the Gray units find themselves in
three new supply centers after the spring, although one he cannot
assimilate in the winter because his ship will be destroyed by ice
should it stay where it is. Elsewhere the Canadians pull back a bit in
the Atlantic and the Danes and Norwegians continue to fight; this season
the Norwegians manage to take back their home center Longyearbyen, but
lose control of the vital Norwegian Sea in the process.
We have two retreats, and they both have a number of options: Norwegian
F Norwegian Sea may retreat to Greenland Sea, North Atlantic Ocean,
Oslo, Tromso, or OTB, and Russian F Kamchatka may retreat to East Bering
Sea, East Siberian Sea, Magadan, Pevek, Sea of Okhotsk, West Bering Sea,
or OTB. Those retreats will be due tomorrow, Friday August 14, at 9 pm
eastern. Please note that I am traveling tomorrow and thus may not be
able to get the adjudication out immediately, but I will try.
The following deadline, for Winter 2011, will be this coming Wednesday,
August 19, at 9 pm eastern.

The new alliance of Norse and Danes push deep within Swedish territory, and already are repositioning their forces west to begin their next invasions. The Gaels are outguessed in Munster and Leinster unfortunately, though all hope is not lost to stay even.
I am having a problem with RP. I encountered a bug in my Dark Ages coding for V3 where ECH and COR were not adjacent. Even after correcting this however, I cannot get RP to adjudicate F AtO S F ECh - Cor, F ECh - Cor as a valid move. Working through this. I have had to manually force the adjudication with Edit Map until this can be resolved. Be advised of this bug.
The Swedes have one retreat - A Gotar can retreat to Svear or OTB.
Mark - please broadcast that move to the list as soon as possible so we can proceed please.
The next deadline will be Fall 827, due Thursday 20 AUG 09, at 1700 EST.
