Heya folks,

Well, I sincerely apologize for the long delay during the latest
stretch. As Mike sent out last week, the phone lines in the region
here in central Ontario were slightly devastated by falling trees
during some crazy storms. Just another case of Mother Nature flexing
her muscle and wrecking havoc to diplomacy games everywhere.

In any event, I am in the situation where I have to seek out a
replacement Archers player. I've begun the process already, and
hopefully this will not be too long of a search. However, I will be
out of touch and out of contact while I travel to the Stratford
Festival over the next 3 days...

Thanks for the patience everyone, and I will be sending out word once
again on Friday August 14th - just to let you all know what the latest
and greatest news is.

Cheers!

[quote:32af2bdd09]Heya folks,

My thanks to all of you for putting up so decently with my horrible
connection issues last week.  I love being out here in central
Ontario, but man, do they ever have to work on their internet
connectivity.  And don't get me started about trees blowing over and
falling on utility lines.  =)

In any event, your Troutish servant is back online this morning and
ready to churn out the latest in DC-230.  The turn is a tale of France
gaining a little in both the East and the West, as the revolutionary
forces take Belgium and sail without a shot into Constantinople.

As for the 3-way proposal, it is downed and outed.  What can you do
except bring out the wine and the smelly cheese?

Winter 1909 consists of an Austrian removal and builds for both
Germany and France.  As I'll be travelling to the Stratford festival,
without access, for the rest of the week I suppose the Winter 09
deadline will be set for Friday, August 14th (11:59 PM GMT).

Once again, apologies about last week everyone.  Mother Nature decided
to flex a little muscle, I guess...

I think that the Archer units should be ceded to the Elves. After all, we ARE both good with bows. Besides, then you wouldn't have to wait. And I am sure that we would deal fairly with all races, after a fashion.

Cheers!

DC250 My Army Is Bigger - Winter 1906 - Lumbrous I... - former.trout   (Aug 11, 2009, 8:16 am)
Heya folks,

Thanks to all of you for putting up with my fishing shack issues last
week. Its amazing how travelling deep into the woods of central
Ontario in order to get out of touch means that you actually get out
of touch... =)

We'll move the game along, with my most sincere apologies for the
delay. Austria builds an army in Vienna, Germany builds two more
armies for their legions and Turkey disbands in Armenia.

That settles 1906... Deadline for Spring 1907 orders will be set for
Saturday, August 15th (11:59 PM GMT). I'll do my best to get a
deadline reminder out on Friday.

Cheers!

DC-212 Spring 1915 Update And Revised Deadline - former.trout   (Aug 11, 2009, 8:01 am)
Heya folks,

Apologies about the delay from last week. The problem with travelling
to the back woods in order to spend a few weeks out of touch with
everyone is that you can often end up out of touch with everyone. =)
Thanks for bearing with me during the weekend pause.

As events have rolled around, I have two sets of orders in hand for
the Spring turn and am missing the other two. Obviously I cannot
fault you players though, on this turn. So we'll revise the turn
deadline. As I'll be on the road without net access at the Stratford
Festival for the rest of the week, Spring 1915 orders will be set due
for Friday, August 14th (11:59 PM GMT).

Sorry for the summer chaos everyone. Don't forget to vote for the
various end-game proposals.

Cheers!

No commentary today since it's pretty late, but you can imagine it for
yourselves I'm sure.

We have a proposal for a Dark solo. Please vote on this with your next
set of orders for Fall 1908. We have no retreats from the spring, so
the deadline for both votes and moves will be this coming Thursday,
August 13, at 9 pm eastern. The deadline is a bit short because I am
leaving for vacation for a week on Friday; I will probably have internet
access, but in the case I don't I would prefer to set a deadline for
just after I return.

I need retreats and adjustments, BOTH, by Wednesday at 2100. If you need to see the

DC226 Before Fall 1910 Press! - hapolley   (Aug 10, 2009, 4:26 pm)
Dearest Bertie,

You can see I am moving with all haste to dislodge the Turk.

Here are some of my thoughts at this stage:

1)Please allow me to retain SPA for a build.

2) Also, please attack my F NTH so I can disband and build another A. This disbandment is dear to your heart I believe.

3.) My F in PIC can stay there until we both decide if I need another A or not. It will NOT move to BRE this season.

4.) I believe it necesaary for austria to hold on to Naples, perhaps you can support him in this endeavour?

5) We need more Fleets in the MED to force the IONIAN. Can you send more resources this way?

I look forward to hearing from you and the Archduke as to how we might dislodge Turkey from his ill gotten but well fortified gains.

Fondly yours,

Willie

PS. Archduke, have no fears, I will support you strongly in VEN.

Willehem.

DC 247: S1920 - AceRimmer   (Aug 10, 2009, 3:59 pm)
No draw. Go figure. (But, then again, Benjy didn't vote, so it couldn't have succeeded).

I don't know if it was by design or by oversight, but England submits no orders for A Munich. Consequently it holds. *Consequently*, Silesia -- which could easily have been supported -- is dislodged. _*Consequently*_, the retreating Warsawians have somewhere to go.

With only one retreat option each,

English A Silesia retreats to Berlin
Russian A Warsaw retreats to Galicia

See you on Thursday.

England:
F Baltic Sea Hold
A Edinburgh Hold
F Helgoland Bight - Holland
F Kiel Hold
A Livonia Supports A Moscow - Warsaw
A London - Norway
F Mid-Atlantic Ocean - North Africa
A Moscow - Warsaw
A Munich Hold
F North Sea Convoys A London - Norway
A Prussia Supports A Moscow - Warsaw
A Ruhr Supports A Munich
A Silesia Supports A Moscow - Warsaw (*Dislodged*)

France:
A Burgundy Supports A Munich
F Gulf of Lyon Supports F Western Mediterranean
A Piedmont - Tuscany (*Fails*)
F Tunis Hold
F Western Mediterranean Supports F Tunis

Russia:
A Bohemia Supports A Galicia - Silesia
A Galicia - Silesia
A Rumania - Sevastopol
A Ukraine Supports A Warsaw - Moscow
A Warsaw - Moscow (*Dislodged*)

Turkey:
A Bulgaria - Serbia
F Constantinople - Black Sea

F Naples Supports F Tyrrhenian Sea
F Rome Supports F Tuscany
