DC-239 Fall 1904 Adjudication - TheWhiteWolf   (May 04, 2009, 9:06 pm)
All,
I'm sad to say that Lance has NMRed. Lance, you've got 24 hours to let me know you're still with us, or I'll replace you. Also, if you NMR again, I'll replace you immediately.
Amazingly, Russia's position is not affected at all by the NMR, other than the obvious lack of forward motion. In other news around the map, we see England reduced to continental holdings, Italian expansion into southern France, and a widened front line for Austria.

Russia's NMR didn't matter cuz the guy isn't playing the damn game.

Another colossal waste of my time. Let someone play Russia who
actually WANTS to play the game. Even if s/he takes me out, just
play the game.

DC190 - Spring 2013 - mike at southwall.com   (May 04, 2009, 8:30 pm)
I believe Persia is the only one we've not heard a public Yes vote from.
This does not bode well for the future of Ethiopia as an independent peaceful nation. Smile

Well... it's become abundantly clear that the four-way draw is back on the table for the Fall turn. As per the house rules of DipCorps, a public proposal of a draw is fine, and we have received that from, it would seem, both South America and China (Ethiopia). However, I cannot force anyone to vote publicly. Any player may reserve the right to vote in private, whatever anyone may think about it. Also, a public vote is not binding, as the last vote before the deadline is the one that counts. So, when I get back to my computer on May 9, we will be able to resolve this proposal.

One other thing: I missed one more move with the map: the Persian fleet in Zagreb should be in the Tyrrhenian. I'll send that map out tomorrow (along with Scott's retreat).

DIPYCORP PRESS RELEASES
Dear Bertie,
Please calm your fears.

It is important we continue to work together through these
difficult times otherwise the Turk will overwhelm us all as we
bicker..

As you can see I supported you into POR this Spring, even
without the encouragement of your Press which was only
published with the moves.  SO I acted in good faith here.

Also in the matter of Denmark. I ordered my A in KIE to MUN,
but this was blocked by the wily Turk and I bouncing in SIL.

So from these two cases you can see I am fully on board with
our Alliance and wish you no harm whatsoever.

In the short run I am very concerned about HOL and BEL should
you decide to attack.

Please advise me that our alliance is sound and that no attacks
on Bel or Holl will take place.

To the present.
My F in BER is blocking the eastward advance of my A KIE.

Might I respectfully suggest you allow my F BER into BAL and
then I can order A KIE ~ BER without any hindrance from the Turk.

We can then get into position alonfg the PRU/SIL/LVN axis to
reclaim WAR from the Turk, with MOS to be your prize...

Please let me have your thoughts soonest.
Your ever faithful Willie

Bulgarian Defense CrumblesE/G Force Turkey Closer to Elimination.

All,
There was only one retreat possible for the Bulgarian army so it was taken. Thus we move on to Thursday at 5pm CST for the Fall deadline. I have finally joined this century with technology so I can do adjudications while away from home so you are stuck with me until I go on holidays out of the US. So send orders to me. Oh, and speaking of hols out of the US, where in France do you live Laurence? I am coming there in a few weeks and need some local info!

Can't wait until Thursday. We are all waiting to see if E/G can hold together for a 17/17 finish or if temptation is too much!

Hey, Folks! Spring 1906 is upon us, and it holds plenty of surprises.
Turkey rebuffs a giant attack on Rumania, and France takes the
Tyrrhenian Sea from Italy, who NMRd. We also see England convoying an
army across the entire top of the map and seizing holland and Berlin
at the same time. Since we don't have any retreats, we'll move right
into fall, 06, which I'm setting for Thursday the 7th at 5:00 PM,
American ET. By the way, Remember about the Best Press and Best Stab

dc246 spring 1906 - coryfucius   (May 04, 2009, 3:47 pm)
Now that we are down to 5 powers, the action heats up, particularly around the Mediterranean. France knocks Turkey out of Tunis, and England continues pushing units toward the former Russian home centers. Turkey's attempt to gain the Ionian Sea from Italy fails. England and France appear to suffer a bit of miscommunication about the intended destination of the English army departing Berlin, the move to Prussia succeeding but also allowing Austria to move to Silesia. Turkey convoys to Sevastopol, seemingly just in time to defend Moscow from a cascade of blue.

The only dislodged unit is the Turkish fleet in Tunis, which has no valid retreats and is scuttled. Therefore, we move directly to fall 1906, for which orders will be due Thursday 5/7 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT.

DC251 Shadowplay Autumn 1902 adjudication - Slangers   (May 04, 2009, 3:09 pm)
I am having some problems with email at the moment. Well not me specifically, my university periodically gets blocked by hotmail and some other organisations. This is because some idiots within my organisation give out their username and passwords to phishers and spammers, resulting in the university getting labelled as a bad domain. I hope this gets through, if not then I will attempt to send from an alternative account (possibly my wife's).

Anyway, here is the adjudication:

Autumn 1902. In anticipation of the possibility that Austria may be descending into anarchy, Russian and German “peacekeepers” rush across the border to, ”lend assistance”. Fresh from a season of rest, Austrian forces give the Bulgarian outpost of the Turkish empire a good kicking. Left without orders, the Italian units look on whilst the French fleets “bring peace” to the Mediterranean region. Meanwhile, to the north, the English tourists consolidate their foothold in the Scandinavian resorts.

Well, for all the missed supports and unsupported moves, one could easily believe that this game has switched to a no-press format. You know, as GM, I hate it when my players go and change the game without letting me know. This is mutiny, Mr. Christian. I won't stand for it. If you guys don't start communicating and coordinating, I'm going to force each and every one of you to play Bavaria in the 1847 variant... or Heartland in the Empire variant... Well, whatever it is, it will be unpleasant and hopeless.

There are no retreats, so I'll expect to hear from all of you by Thursday.

Well, only four units moved, but if you've watched 'Shawshank Redemption' lately, you know that nothing more is needed... over time. Four units move -- none retreat. We're all set for the F1911 seismics. Consider those orders due on Wednesday at the usual time (10:00 CST). Meanwhile, I've taken the liberty of raising the British flag over Sevastopol, where in their heavily Russian accent, the natives are singing, "God save our gracious Trout, long live our noble Trout, God save the Trout...". By Thursday, we'll need an English build order and a Russian disband.

Hi all,

We have another End Game Proposal to vote : It’s the Concession of a Russian solo (although not having 18 sc)

So you have 2 separate votes to submit to me with your next season orders :
<![if !supportLists]>1) <![endif]>3-way draw R/A/F
<![if !supportLists]>2) <![endif]>Concession of the Russian solo

Thanks and don’t forget that a non vote is considered as a NO.

So we'll revise the deadline and reset it to Monday, May 4th (11:59 PM GMT).  Yup - roughly 16 hours from now.  (Hey - you've already had more than a day, eh..)

Cheers everyone.  Let me hear ya holler!

ENGINEERED PRESS RELEASES
-------------------------
Willie,
There is no reason to delay to culmination of our Iberian
campaign. Please advise your army to support our Mid Atlantic
fleet into Portugal this Spring. That should free your forces
to move East sooner. We have acquiesced to nearly all your
requests up to the present. However, on the subject of the navy
in Berlin we cannot accept your designation of it as a
defensive measure. We have in recent months further proved the
sincerity of our partnership by removing the last our forces
from a territory adjacent to your borders. We had further begun
the removal of the third fleet from the Scandinavian area.
We take very serious our promise to our brother Frederick. Just as we take very serious our partnership to secure Europe for the progress of prosperity and liberty.

Earnestly,
Bertie

To Franz Josef.
Thank you for your kind offer of an Italian seaside resort in
return for the German people's support of your munificent regime.

We will in due course be glad to take you up on this offer,
though Venice would be more to our liking not having fleets to
defend the overrated retirement resorts of NAP and ROM.

In the meantime we shall support you to the hilt in your
efforts to stop the Turk who will continue to try and expand at
your expense.

Have no fear in deploying your forces fully against the Sultan. We stand behind you every inch of the way!
Wilhelm

The next great thing? - FuzzyLogic   (May 02, 2009, 9:53 pm)
We've had the same old Winter Blitz banner at the top of our main page for a long time... and it's great in the runup to the WB, but now it's outdated. What kinds of stuff do you want to see in our Dip site? What could we do that's new and interesting? Dont know where this is going but the little tank driving across the home page is getting a bit boring.
