I was just afraid that Steve might fire off a quick set of orders reflecting the 'disband 3' guide, afterall I'm sure it would come as a deep shock to him to see the Germans turn up on the beaches of southern France with sudden holiday plans!

Best,

Paul.

I believe the rules of the tournament include for conditional builds/disbands due to the quick nature of the tournament. So, if Steve only submits three disbands on the thought that I'll be nice and not retreat to MAR... well then, he should pay for being so naive. Smile

Heya folks,

Results come out a little later in the day than you're used to. Apologies for that - hope it doesn't throw any of you off. But while Adam is away, the TDs will play - or so they say. =)

The Fall 08 turn doesn't bring any relief to Italy or Germany, although the Kaiser does manage to find a home away from home in Edinburgh. There was one retreat owed from the Germans in Burgundy. That retreat, plus the Winter 08 adjustments, will be set due for Friday, Mar 6th (11:59 PM GMT). Please note the evening deadline to compensate for the later adjudication tonight..

Thanks to everyone for CCing the orders inbox.. Please continue to do so for the Winter turn, as Adam will not be back until next week. Just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers!

DC235 Dirkfell Another Bit of Business - A DIAS Ha... - garry.bledsoe   (Mar 06, 2009, 8:23 am)
Laurence,
A DIAS would give a draw to France, England, Germany, Austria, Italy and Turkey. Points for tournament would fall under 6-way draw [like next to nothing].

Fellow players,

It appears our England (Tim) has some e-mail problems. He's switched over to this adress:

To give Tim a fair chance, I'm extending the deadline by 24 hours.

DC 233 WInter Blitz Board 3 - Fall 1908 - Bridgejunky   (Mar 06, 2009, 5:56 am)
Trout,

Thanks for stepping in again.

Might it be an idea either to ask Kevin to broadcast his retreat ahead of the winter deadline or else to ask Steve (Italy) for conditional disbands. I'm sure we'd all agree it would only be fair that Steve should have tthe opportunity to nominate an additional disband rather than to have to take one 'by rule' if Kevin drops BUR into MAR.

Best,

Paul.

Cheers!

Dc220 Missing Moves Austria- Italy - deathblade_penguin   (Mar 06, 2009, 5:27 am)
Dc220

I cannot find moves from Austria or Italy. I am also unsure if I Copied Mark on the last reminder I sent out.

Given that I am giving Austria and Italy 48 hours to get their moves in (I plan to be very drunk tomorrow).

This will count as a grace period for both Austria and Italy.

Please remember deadlines SHOULD NOT BE considered anything more than deadlines.

Any other play is welcome to change their moves in this time.

Now we have a few things before Fall 1904.

1) i require every active player to reply to this email in the next 72 hours so I know you are receiving my emails.

2) Every active player needs to go the Dc228 game page at www.diplomaticcorp.com and familiarize yourself with my house rules. They will TAKE effect from the next deadline, so if there is someone you dont like email me NOW about it because when i adjudicate you will be done Smile

That said Fall 1904 will be due NEXT Thursday 12th March at 7pm, Australian EST. (note the change of time zone)

A&E 090205 / DC240: no adjudication (missing o... - NickHiggins   (Mar 05, 2009, 11:32 pm)
A&E 090205 / DC240: Unfortunately, I have not received an order set from one player. Sad This is why we send in prelims! Now is a good time to review my procedure for this situation.

1st offense - 24 hour grace period; 48 hours after that to reestablish contact; after 72 hours, expulsion
2nd offense - automatic NMR, 24 hours to reestablish contact, then expulsion
3rd offense - automatic expulsion

Typically when the situation results in a player expulsion, I will extend the same deadline rather than have the new player take over after an NMR.

Since this is a PBEM game, it is impossible to enforce any rules on diplomatic contact, and so diplomacy can continue like normal during the next 24 hours. You can treat it like a deadline extension, with more time to negotiate and send in new orders if desired.

Also, I do not reveal the name of the player until the adjudication. This (mostly) prevents any players from taking advantage of a potential NMR.

Sorry to those of you eagerly awaiting the adjudication... Nick

DC224 - 24 Hour Extension for Fall 04 - former.trout   (Mar 05, 2009, 10:16 pm)
Heya gang,

I was kindof hoping that the player in question might be able to still get orders in tonight for Fall 04, but in the absence of those orders we'll extend the deadline for 24 hours.  The extension WAS requested prior to the deadline - I was just trying to squeeze the turn out without it.

But a Slaughter post-poned is no less gruesome.  We'll adjourn for tonight and revisit the turn tomorrow - Friday Mar 6th (11:59 PM GMT).  Any changes to orders can be made over the next 18 hours if you feel so inclined.

Cheers folks!

DC205 The Pleiades - Spring 1911 - Progression, Re... - former.trout   (Mar 05, 2009, 10:07 pm)
Heya folks,

Italy makes an important gain against France in the Spring - jamming a toehold into Munich.  However, France offsets the loss by seizing Denmark - and possibly Berlin depending on the Munich retreat...

Those two retreats are due for Summer 1911 - Russia from Denmark and France from Munich.  Deadline will be set for Saturday, March 7th (11:59 PM GMT).

Let me know if you spot any errors in the adjudication.  Cheers!
