Subject: DC 463, Spring 1906

Hi gang,

Well, I gave Alfred a couple of extra hours, but no orders yet from Italy.  I can't wait any longer, so we're moving on without him.  Get back to me Alfred, let me know if all is well with you.

Well first order of business, both draw proposals fail. Of course we had an nmr, which you can usually count on to be a vote of no. Regardless, war continues across Europe.

No less than four dislodged units this spring. RETREATS for all of them are due on Thursday, January 30, 18:00.  Most of them only have one option other than to disband, but I'd still
like to see an order if you don't mind.

Russian F Denmark can retreat to Helgoland Bight or Baltic Sea or OTB.

German A Munich can retreat to Bohemia or OTB.

Russian A Sweden can retreat to Finland or OTB.

Italian A Vienna can retreat to Galicia or OTB.

Maps are attached, turn is below, check the orders.

Warren

DC478 Anselm's Ontology. Winter 1902 Results - Cartesian   (Jan 28, 2014, 10:55 am)
No adjustment received from Austria so I have removed A Tyr as the unit furthest from home.
The game still looks well-balanced with possibilities for all - keep negotiating!

Next is Spring 1903 - Onward!
*** Spring 1903 Tuesday 4th February at 1600 GMT ***
Small print:I may (but will not necessarily) remind you of this deadline. I will acknowledge orders received. Latecomers stand a risk of NMRing, so why not send preliminary (v1) orders now, in case real life intervenes in the meantime? Please put the Game Number, Game Name, Power, Season and order version in the Subject of a new email - don’t  just reply to mine, or your orders may be missed. If you send v1 orders I will use them if you send no others (I will always use the last orders you send), so no need to reconfirm if you don’t change them.

Hey all, Heard back from the tournament director. The orders box doesn't have any moves from Poul for this season either. So the adjudication stands, and we move on to Fall on Thursday at 8:00 PM CST (17:00 GMT?)

*Germans Bounce in Denmark with Hated Rival... um... Germany!*
*Austrians Continue to Protest War, Proclaim Pacifism*
*Six Units Actually Move!*

Hey all,

Well, failed attacks plague the north, and NMRs plague the south. This results in a mere *six* successful moves: Holland, Portugal, Bohemia, Rumania, Constantinople, and Smyrna. Austria and Italy NMR, and England has every move foiled by a bounce in Wales (and Stp).

This brings me to remind you about something our famed Tournament Director once said. If you at least turn in moves, you'll probably do better than some! This game seems to prove that out thus far. Also, it's a good time to remind you (especially our NMR-ers) that you have a mere 24 hours from adjudication to protest if I mis-moved you or missed your orders. After that, the game continues regardless.

There was one dislodgement. Austrian A Vie must retreat. Even though he NMRed I still allow him to retreat. There is only one available option, so I'll auto-adjudicate to Budapest. Rob can change that to OTB, which is due by tomorrow at 8:00 PM CST. Rob, if you want to reply all, that would probably be easiest, even if you are fine with the retreat to Bud.

So apart from Rob's choice, the rest of us move to another bloody Fall. Looks like most or all of the neutrals will fall to you brutal dictators. And maybe an owned center or two might change hands as well?

John

I have an email into the Tournament Director. I've searched my inbox again, and still don't see anything, but sometimes email is quirky. But as a teachable moment for everyone, this is exactly why you cc the orders box when you send in moves. Hopefully it will play out in Poul's favor.

that you have a mere 24 hours from adjudication to protest if I mis-moved you or missed your orders.

Rob, if
you want to reply all, that would probably be easiest, even if you are fine with the retreat to Bud.

So apart from Rob's choice, the rest of us move to another bloody Fall. Looks like most or all of the neutrals will fall to you brutal dictators. And maybe an owned center or two might change hands as well?

I have an email into the Tournament Director. I've searched my inbox again, and still don't see anything, but sometimes email is quirky. But as a teachable moment for everyone, this is exactly why you cc the orders box when you send in moves. Hopefully it will play out in Poul's favor.

DC 483, Spring 1902 - alwayshunted   (Jan 27, 2014, 8:09 pm)
Hi gang,

Okay, this was a really interesting start to 1902.  There are some things clear to me... others not so much.  Like why does the Italian army in Tunis want to go to London so badly?

We have two retreats necessary for summer, due in about 23 hours.

French F Belgium can retreat to English Channel or Picardy or OTB.
Turkish A Bulgaria can retreat to Constantinople or OTB.

Remember to check my work!!  I don't usually make mistakes on adjudications, but we all saw what happened in the first turn.

Cheers,

Warren

Here is the turn.

DC479 Hundred - Spring 1426 - Zoterik   (Jan 26, 2014, 12:37 pm)
"Caution" remains the watchword of the day, even as France attempts a daring assault on Dijon.  England and Burgundy play carefully and defend, so nothing moves in the centre save for an English fleet.  The most notable thing which occurs is the advance of England and France to take Scotland and Castile, respectfully.  Barring an NMR or a surprise move, both those nations will enjoy at least one build at year's end.

Fall 1426 orders due 30 January at 08:00 GMT.

At least the deadline is still working.
