Fellow players,

Our Dear Englishman wants 3 builds - and whom am I to deny him this? Good spotting, though the other players might think otherwise Smile

(England picked up Por, Tun and Den - I only gave him builds for Por and Den)

DC 212 Temp Change of GM - Verticallychallangedcutie   (Feb 04, 2009, 11:35 am)
Folks,
As some of you know things have been pretty hectic in my house lately. The kids and I came down with a horrible stomach virus that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The kids and I are finally better but we just received word that my husband is being sent back to his home base a few days earlier. That leaves me little less then a week to get packed, find us a truck and an apartment in San Antonio. During this time Stephen Lytton will be taking over GMing for you go so all orders from now on are to be sent to stevelytton(at)hotmail.com.
As soon as we get into San Antonio and we get settled I will take back over. Stephen will be setting a new deadline I believe. Have fun guys and take care. I'll be back in about 2 -3 weeks.. ( hopefully 2! )

DC224 Slaughter At StoryTime - Fall 03 - Adrift In... - former.trout   (Feb 04, 2009, 9:58 am)
Continuing the travels
Of the Wanderer named Groo
As he journeyed round the world
His dog, Rufferto, too.

Far south in Devils Canyon
He gave his legs a stretch
Ate a mulchy sandwhich
While Rufferto played some fetch

As he gobbled down the crumbs
The ground began to quake
Canyon walls shook mightily
While Groo's senses snapped awake

A distant figure loomed quite large
So Groo, to swords, reached for
The wind was kicking up a storm
The message: Roar, Roar, Roar!

Then Ogre stood in front of him
"Devil's Canyon now is mine!
Begone now warrior of little brain
Else these fists will crush your spine!"

"I have big brain!" was Groo's reply
"I think one thought a day.
And now I'm thinking that that thought
Is that I've found a fray!"

To battle charged the warrior poet
Known to most as Groo
And so Ogre found an axiom
Groos thoughts are ones to rue...

------------------------------------

The Ogres do finally find their way into Devil's Canyon, though not without facing opposition first. Meanwhile a little friction forms in the central waters and in the north, the Centaurs keep on feeling the heat from all quarters.

Five retreats are needed before we head on into the Winter adjustments. One each from the Centaurs, Samurai, Knights, Gnomes and Fairies. Deadline for Early Winter 03 retreats will be set for Thursday, February 5th (11:59 PM GMT).

Also of note is that we suffer our second casualty of the game. My thanks to Matt Kelly for making a valiant and memorable stand in this one. The Great Ju-Ju failed you in this one, Matt... But maybe in the next one. =)

As always, let me know if you spot any errors and I'll attempt to muddle through a correction. Cheers for now!

Hi Guys,

Been really kind to one player and have waited for his orders to come in. As they have yet to, I am chatting to another person to see if we think I should find a replacement or have his units go into civil disorder.

We will decide in the next 12 hours. Lets hope I get his orders in that time, otherwise I will let you know.

Cheers

DC236 Spring 04 - The Final Adjudication =) - former.trout   (Feb 04, 2009, 2:31 am)
Gentlefolk of DC-236.

After having said that the most important thing a player can do to ensure that their appropriate orders are received is to CC the orders inbox, and having had Nathan do EXACTLY that, the Spring 1904 turn must be redone with the inclusion of the English orders.

The tricky part about all of this has been that Nathan mis-spelled Rachaels email address. Please note that the correct address for Rachael is verticallychallangedcutie(at)yahoo.com (verticallychallangedcutie(at)yahoo.com) (Spelt with an 'a' in challanaged - NOT an 'e'.)

All future orders must be sent to both the GM (Rachael) AND the orders inbox to ensure that they are correctly received.

In essence, not much changes about the Summer turn other than the fact that England no longer has two retreats. I have gone ahead with Turkey's retreat to Constantinople. (Michael, if you wish to change that based on this re-adjudication then please let Rachael know within the next 24 hours.)

Fall 1904 deadline will remain Thursday, February 5th (11:59 PM GMT).

Please just let either me, Mike or Rachael know if you have any questions. Thanks for bearing with us for all this fuzziness.

Cheers,

Trout
Winter Blitz 09 co-Tourney Director

DC 236 Spring 1904 Results Revised - Verticallychallangedcutie   (Feb 04, 2009, 1:22 am)
Folks,
Okay so after some discussions with the mods I am reissuing the retreat sections of the adjudication. None of the Spring orders change at the moment. England has challenged his NMR and that is being discussied at the moment between the mods. BUT his two disbanded units are not actually disbanded. It appears real politik has a glitch and he actually gets to retreat his orders. SOOO with that being said, Turkey's retreat order still stands and below I have put where England's units can retreat too. Nathan try to get these to me ASAP as the fall deadline is approaching on Thursday and it is now Wed.

Players:
Austria: Ross Jefferson <Ross92021(at)yahoo.com> ELIMINATED

Deadline:
Nathan the offical deadline for these is tonight Feb 4th 7pm EST ( 11:59 GMT ). But please try to get these into me asap.

Experience the Fall of 1901 - coebq   (Feb 03, 2009, 8:53 pm)
According to an old US army manual on leadership I have lying about the house here, along with courage, determination, poise, and loyalty, audacity provides us the basic DNA of the warrior-leader. But audacity can be a double-edged sword for some. Particularly if a leader makes an audacious move, but at the wrong time...So somewhere along the line, you'd like to see a bit of wisdom (and frankly a little luck) thrown into the above mix.

After playing nicey-nice through the Spring our own brazenly audacious leaders made some more determined moves this season:

In the West, France and England occupied their "traditional" centers, while a justifiable fear of multi-national aggression forced Germany to protect the Motherland rather than seek greater expansion. Perhaps most surprising is the number of unoccupied neutrals still to be found in Western Europe today which certainly doesn't bode well for the coming year, does it?

In the East, The Sultan of Turkey not only crushes the last remaining dissension in Bulgaria, but makes the most well timed of audacious moves--walking into Greece uncontested! Leaders will look back on this one and wonder how it ever could have happened so easily...Meanwhile the Austrians appear uncertain, but the Italians do not: marching the Alpini up through Tyrolia and then beyond. Finally, while the Russian's settle for the occupation of Rumania in the South, their invasion of Sweden fails, running into unexpected (?) opposition on the shores.

All in all, a very good turn folks!

Thanks for getting your orders all in on-time and in excellent format. No retreats are due, so let's move directly to the Winter Adjudication phase and the builds which you all have coming to you. Please have those to me by Thursday, Feb 5. If you all can get them in 24 hours, I'll publish them and get the Spring started earlier!

Here are the details. Let me know if you spot an error:
