Okay so here's the scoop. Matt (Germany) apparently sent his orders to me, but they have been lost along the way.
Obviously the game will change significantly as a result of Germany's misfortune, so I have a dilemma. On one hand, rules are rules, and I have not received orders from Germany. On the other hand, assuming that orders were sent, there is a clear injustice being done to Germany and potentially any other players that may have dealings with Germany.
So I'm going to do the obvious thing I think.... and pass this dilemma on to you, the players.
The question is simple. Do we allow Germany to build for 1901?
I need an answer from ALL players (except Matt 'cause I know his vote already). The vote must be unanimous, and abstaining counts as a no vote. If and only if I receive six yes votes will the builds be allowed.
Please get back to me as soon as possible on this issue. There will be a slight delay for spring 1902 as a result, and I would like to keep it as short as I can.

This game will abide by the default DC houserules found here; http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/info.php?type=houserules
Make sure you read and understand them, if anything is unclear ask me and I’ll clarify.
Orders – Make sure to label your orders with the DC number for this game; 219 and also your Power. All orders not labelled final will be considered prelims.
Example; DC219, Prelim orders for England or DC219, Final orders for England
Do note that you can change your final orders as well, just make sure it’s before deadline! Also, if you want to you can specify the season, but that is not required.
I will usually confirm your moves within 24 hours or faster – if you don’t get a message within that timeframe, resend the moves.
And finally, don’t forget to send thoose prelims in!
NMR;
All players have one, 1 that is, 24h grace period prior to suffering their first Nmr of any kind (moves, retreats or builds/removals). After that, Nmr’s will be enforced as defined by the DC houserules.
Extensions etc. Theese will normally be granted if I get them in due time. I do reserve myself the right to decline extensions if the request is sent less than 24 hours before deadline
Schedule;
One major phase per week, the following schedule is my suggestion;
Wednesday – Spring or Fall
Friday – Retreats, if any
Sunday – Builds/Removals, if any
All deadlines are at 21.00, GMT +1 (this can be shuffled a bit if it’s particulary bad for anyone)
Adjucations will usualy be online within 1-2 hours after deadline is passed, this is my first game so be nice to me if I drag it out a bit for the first few moves J

First deadline will be: Thursday 20th November, at 21.00 GMT +1

"Hooray, It's over!"
I elected to play Britain in this game as I wanted a challenge diplomatcially and I did receive that. Being spread all over the globe, Britain is consistently stabbed by everyone at most stage of the game. My biggest problem and
what led to my dismal failure in this game was the constant stream of replacements.
My intiial plan was to ally with Holland, but Rudi made it fairly clear that he had other plans and solidly moved against me - defeating me in the south. My alliance with China fell apart when China was replaced. My alliance with France, fell apart when France was replaced. So I was beaten out of the south east of the map, beaten out of the south atlantic by a greedy brazil, beaten out of the USA by the USA. The Stab by Lee as France was the worst for me though. My solid alliance with the first France was replaced by a tentative alliance with Lee who then stabbed me viciously (although my rumours tell me that Felix only wanted to attack me and was driving that force there).
I ended up crawling back to the USA to get my survivial but Rupert was being his usual pain and was all about beaten France in the SC count than making me into a useful power. Sick of me, thinking for myself - Rupert laid down an ultamatium - he dislodged all my units and made me a strange offer "disband them all and you can survive" - retreat and I will eliminate you.
Then I was just pretty much sitting around, voting down the proposal that excluded me - YES it was I who would not past the 6 way proposed draw.
I didn't play this game well and became too quickly frustrated by all the replacements.

Yes, folks... You can breath that sigh of relief and wonder now. After 522 days - Guns, Germs and Steel wraps in a Dutch solo. My hearty congratulations to Rudi for blazing through this onslaught and bending the board to his will. An Imperial game - even a "short" one - is no easy feat to solo in, and I take my hat off in awe. Very well done!
And huge commendations go out to all our other players as well for playing this meat grinder out to the bitter end. Any game of this variant is, by nature, brutal. My thanks to everyone involved for their efforts. This one deserves a HUGE pat on the back. =)
The business of Fall 1880: All the end-game proposals failed once again. However Holland broke through the stale-mate lines in Russia and took matters into their own hands - with the Tsars assistance. With 70 supply centers reached, we close the book on Guns, Germs and Steel.
I'd love to see end-of-game statements from everyone on this one. There were some results that I still can't quite bring myself to believe...

Hooray it's over indeed...
I replaced the original Russia in a decent spot with a decent alliance with Felix in Austria and working issues out on the east with China and Japan. I quickly noticed the unchecked growth potential of Rudi in the Indian Ocean and tried my darndest to rally the masses. Unsuccessfully.
Felix withdrew for RL issues and the new Austria was more concerned with Dot grabbing than forming or continuing any kind of working agreement. Several attempts to draw a common line failed as Austria always wanted just one more dot...
his stab on me caused me to mess up things in the East with Japan - something i truly regret and that probably later led to China stabbing me, though Dave already cleared the air on this - hindsight.
anyhow... began to really hate Austria and quickly lost interest in anything else but outlasting him... then with him gone, I had built a new hate on for Rupert - as his obliviousness was what allowed Rudi to crack through the black/Cas bottle neck.
Was finally glad to see everyone rally to stop Holland - often question why it took him to get to 60+ before people realized the threat, but we did in fact stop him until Paolo was removed/resigned/replaced or whatever happened there... but in the end RL and an absolute, poke-my-eyes-out boredom drove me to throw it to Rudi.
He says he didn't deserve the solo... that maybe true... but truer is that none of us deserved to be part a draw.
Trout, remind me to review the rosters before jumping into any more favor replacements spots for ya!! BTW - damn fine job as GM.

Wow. I haven't done anything for this game in a while, but I've been following it, and it's hard to believe it's really over.
When this game started, I was involved in a three way discussion with Russia and Japan over our general area. Eric (Japan) wanted me to build no fleets, which would cripple me, and make it impossible for me to attack him, and he would still have the ability to attack me. So, my plan was to work with Russia right off the bat. Unfortunately, Russia stabbed me in Spring 1861. Even though he wanted to men fences, I refused to let go of my lost territories (I guess I just got in the Chinese Mindset) and continued to fight Russia, which was a huge waste of my time and resources. Then Japan Attacked, as I had feared he would. I could do nothing.
My other mistake was placing an army in ANN in Sprng 1862. I was thinking that I could influence the action, but then when it got right down to it, I didn't really want anyone else to get it. Instead of taking it as an auction, getting a SC in exchange, I just ended up making France, England, and Japan mad at me by my indecision.
Then Real Life hit, and that made it even harder to keep up with it.
Overall, I played a horrible game, and I give a lot of Props to whoever took China over and made it a viable country again.

Yes, folks... You can breath that sigh of relief and wonder now. After 522 days - Guns, Germs and Steel wraps in a Dutch solo. My hearty congratulations to Rudi for blazing through this onslaught and bending the board to his will. An Imperial game - even a "short" one - is no easy feat to solo in, and I take my hat off in awe. Very well done!
And huge commendations go out to all our other players as well for playing this meat grinder out to the bitter end. Any game of this variant is, by nature, brutal. My thanks to everyone involved for their efforts. This one deserves a HUGE pat on the back. =)
The business of Fall 1880: All the end-game proposals failed once again. However Holland broke through the stale-mate lines in Russia and took matters into their own hands - with the Tsars assistance. With 70 supply centers reached, we close the book on Guns, Germs and Steel.
I'd love to see end-of-game statements from everyone on this one. There were some results that I still can't quite bring myself to believe...
