DC123 - Shade Of The Bonsai Winter 1570 - Taken - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The Iwamizudera Monogatari:
Learning is to a man as the leaves and branches are to a tree, and it can be said that he should simply not be without it
The Asakura and Takeda clans both recruit a couple new armies and the Mori and the Oda factions raise both an army and a fleet. Meanwhile the three other clans with builds, the Chosokabe, Hojo and Shimazu, all celebrate the launch of a new navy.
Maps and adjudications as attached. Please let me know if you spot any errors. The Spring 1571 deadline will be set for Thursday, September 20th (11:59 PM GMT).

That's easy enough... Do you want more functionality on the site for running games, or prefer to rely on email more?
We could go so far as to let GM's upload each turn's results, and save an image, then allow a player to scroll thru the turns with < and > buttons. It would require more work by the GM's tho cuz then they have to come to the site to finalize their turns.
-mike[Reply] |
More functionality might be nice... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Wouldn't disagree with more functionality. Having a game history on the site that could be scrolled through would be decent enough. Although maybe we should get all the GM's uploading their current game maps first before we take that next step.
Wouldn't make the game history functionality a hot-button issue though. Maybe a long-term goal?[Reply] |

File space - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Will there be a place to upload house rules, variant rules and the like?
How about a General Info section?[Reply] |
Unknown - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Having a place we could all upload our game files would be nice. I can forsee issues with that down the road though depending upon how much storage space we use with these files. I know that most of our game files are pretty small, but I have almost 8mb worth of .dpy & .jpg files in my diplomacy folder alone for the games I've been running.... small files add up.
Mike,
How is the diplomaticcorp site being hosted? Is there a hosting service or do you have a server that it's running off of? If it's a hosting service how much space do we have?[Reply] |

Re: File space - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Good idea, this one's done. (at least the house rules portion) Any GM can now send me their house rules link, maintain their own house rules page themselves, but it will automatically show on any games they're the GM of.
See for example: www.diplomaticcorp.com?game_id=dc099

We would need someone who can manage the content. It's a lot of work to keep a variant bank, as all the pages have to be written up.[Reply] |

DC105 - Tears Of Cassandra Spring 08 - Progeny - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hail Ancient Mediterranean Warriors,
Blood continues to flow into the waters of the Med as the Romans smash through Grecian defences in Ravenna, the Egyptians continue to stand their ground in Leptis and Persia absolutely annhilates the Carthaginians in an epic naval battle in the Libyan Sea.
Two retreats occurred after the Spring moves, but the Persian fleet in the Libyan was automatically disbanded while the Grecian fleet in Ravenna only had one place to go. (Although Caleb has submitted a prelim retreat to Venetia as well.) So with that, we move on into the Fall slaughter.. uhm. I mean the Fall moves. =)
Deadline for Fall 08 will be set for Wednesday, September 26th (11:59 PM GMT.) Please let me know if anyone spots an error with the adjudication. As well as the attached map, you can find the current turn at: http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/hgames/dc105.gif
Cheers folks!
