So this is probably a stupid question, but this is my first game on this site. Are you going to hand out everyone's email addresses, or do we use the PM function of the forums?

Once we have all players confirmed I will post the player list here, and email it to everyone, it will include everyone's email address. However don't think that you are limited to just email to communicate with the players in this game. If you want to arrange other means to talk to people that is totally up to you.
If you are so inclined there are a number of ways you can contact me as well.
Email.
Aramis604(at)yahoo.com - this is my primary email
Aramis064(at)gmail.com - this is an alternate, only use if you can't reach me at my yahoo address.
Instant Message
I use Aramis604 with AOL and Yahoo messengers.
You can post a message to this board, or send me a private message.
If you really think you'll need it at some point I can even give you my phone number... privately.

DC106 Press - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
PRESS:
Israeli Notices
To Spain:
Gas is fine if you want; we could also look at Sch. Sch would be a better position in the long run seeing as from my perspective Poland is the long term enemy since he for no apparent reason declared war on me last season. That said, it's more important for your move to succeed so that my follow up into Lan succeeds as well so that my fleet can transform during the season it has to sit there anyways. What can you see and what do you think? Also what were you thinking otherwise as to you direction?
To Ukraine:
You say you are not threatening me, but you then order Ana - Cil? There is no way you can make an excuse that that is not an attack. Please explain yourself.
To Eire and/or Burgundy:
Are you guys still alive? If so, what is the situation up there? I presume that if you're not already dead Poland is pressing on you; join Spain and I against him! We can work together to defeat the red mass!

Offical start!!! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
We have 7 scheming, and ruthless diplomats who are anxious to get their hands bloody in DC124! Welcome each of you. I don't believe that any of you have been in one of my games before, so I encourage you review my house rules at least one time as we get under way here.
I know the last thing any of you really wants is to read some long email from me so let me just cut right to the chase with the player list and assignments.
These were chosen randomly and I am typically not inclined to change them. However if there is some major problem please let me know and we'll see what we can do.

Important game information - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The turn order for each year in this game will be as follows
Spring
Summer (if necessary)
Fall
Autumn (if necessary)
Winter
Autumn & summer are the retreat phases and winter is the adjustments (build/disband) phase. You will need to submit an order to me for each turn, as I will not be accepting combined orders; i.e., do not submit your spring & summer orders in the same email, this gets too confusing for me to keep track of.
Each turn you will email your orders to me at Aramis604(at)yahoo.com (Aramis604(at)yahoo.com) on or before the deadline. Prelims are recommended, and if everyone is ready to proceed prior to the deadline I will adjucate early. The most simple way for you to indicate that you're ready to proceed early is to mark your orders as "final" when you send them to me. Even if you have marked your orders as final you may still change them up until the point that I adjucate and send out results.
At the very minimum the subject line in any email sent to me regarding DC124 MUST HAVE DC124 in it. My email is configured to allow all emails with DC124 in the subject line to be delivered to me. If an email gets lost in my spam folder because it did not have DC124 in the subject line, that¢s too bad. I will send confirmation that I have received your orders within 24 hours in most cases. If you send me an email and I do not reply within 24 hours it¢s probably best to send it again.

Short answer... yes... we can do that in about a 5-second tweak.
However the goal is to not have a website and a forum and flip between them, but rather to have it all be one place. So we should figure what it is about the Mac's browser that is wierd rather than having everyone open two windows.
In that regard, a Mac thread in this forum would be good, since I dont have a Mac at my disposal to test stuff when updating the site.

PS... for those of you who do want to reach only the forum, outside of the website, you can visit http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/phpbb2 directly. Felix this should solve your problem.[Reply] |
