WB - Russian Winter Blitz - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
…is perhaps a better name for this tournament, as the Russians continue to dominate the standings!
Out of 7 games, 4 players of Russia hold the top 4 spots uncontested going into this Thursday’s fall ’07 round!
Full standings: http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/tournament.php?display=standings
Behind the Russians are still Italy, mainly because the Italians are the powers least having their scores brought down by eliminations – for the other 5 countries have all been eliminated in about 2 games each, Italy and Russia none yet. Standings by country
Country
Average Score
Russia
4.99
Italy
4.51
Germany
3.93
France
3.87
England
3.84
Turkey
3.67
Austria
3.44
A matter of formality, please take a moment to visit the website, and confirm your entry into round 2! We’re hoping for a full slate of 49 returning for the 2nd round, despite some players getting hammered pretty bad by the fast pace…
If you are planning to play, please visit: http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/winterblitz. Log in, then go into Roster, and confirm your status for round 2.
If you have any trouble confirming, you can reply to me and I can confirm your entry for you.
Remember the tournament is a Swiss System – that means if you were eliminated or got a survival in round 1, you will be paired up only against other players that likewise got an elimination or survival in their game – making for a round where the winners play the winners in round 2, and those who didn’t do as well get paired up against others like them – making for a good chance to win the best round 2 score!
Enjoy, and good luck this fall (tomorrow!)

Hey gang, thanks for the patience during that minor delay. Onwards we move into the Spring turns, where Turkey and Italy indeed team up to overpower the Tsar in Tyrolia. However, the tag team duo gets out-muscled in turn as England bulldogs their way into Marseilles.
Only one retreat from the Spring moves, but it was an automatic disband with no valid retreat. In Marseilles, of course, the Italian met a bitter end. With that, Fall 1913 approaches - we'll set the deadline for Tuesday, February 26th (11:59 PM GMT).

dc116 draw prop - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hey guys I’ll suggest a concession to E/R here. Their progress is eventual and unavoidable in time, but it’ll take another 20 turns to play out naturally. A 2-way draw cant be improved on by getting more centers… only by getting a solo, so it’s the 2nd best result possible. There is no point to the game, as it’s just a controlled fallback over the next 20 or so turns. So what do you all want?
I’ll vote yes.

Subject: dc133 (Heir) f07 results!
Between two NMR's and 11 Hold orders, over half the units on the board dig in for attacks that never materialize! Russia not so lucky tho, is eliminated with the loss of Sev.
What is next - will things draw here or will someone make a move? Find out in the Spring of 08, due Monday Feb 25, 2pm Pacific!

DC140 "Never Ending Story" 6-hour warnin... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hello, everyone! As I suspected, I did not have time to send my customary 24-hour reminder yesterday. Now that I have time to catch up, I can at least send out a 6-hour reminder. Although I have received orders from most players, I am missing at least one set of orders. Thanks!

DC116 Vogon's - English / Russia Draw Proposal - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Heya gang,
Appears that we have an English / Russian draw proposal at the table. Lets have a vote on it and say, have your yay and nay responses in with the Fall 1913 deadline. (Tuesday, Feb 26th). Lack of a vote will count as a no.
Cheers,

Hey guys I’ll suggest a concession to E/R here. Their progress is eventual and unavoidable in time, but it’ll take another 20 turns to play out naturally. A 2-way draw cant be improved on by getting more centers… only by getting a solo, so it’s the 2nd best result possible. There is no point to the game, as it’s just a controlled fallback over the next 20 or so turns. So what do you all want?
I’ll vote yes.

In Tyrolia we'll beat you
Said Green, and Yellow too
But the White
Kept smiling bright
Knowing Marseilles would turn bright blue
------------------------------------------------------------
Hey gang, thanks for the patience during that minor delay. Onwards we move into the Spring turns, where Turkey and Italy indeed team up to overpower the Tsar in Tyrolia. However, the tag team duo gets out-muscled in turn as England bulldogs their way into Marseilles .
Only one retreat from the Spring moves, but it was an automatic disband with no valid retreat. In Marseilles , of course, the Italian met a bitter end. With that, Fall 1913 approaches - we'll set the deadline for Tuesday, February 26th (11:59 PM GMT).
As always, please let me know if you spot any mistakes. Cheers!
