DC127 - Winter 08 adjudicated - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Dear Players,
Hmmm. A Bleak Winter for some. Elimination for the once great German nation and the survival of Imperial Russia and the French Republic and the ragged legacy of the Ottomans hang in the balance. While both mighty Austria-Hungary and Italy managed to raise new armies, good old Britannia has spurned the chance to add to its already substantial fleet with an NBR. Builds are waived til a more convenient time. Seriously tho - hope all is okay Alf; if you could get in touch just to let me know you're still playing, I'd be grateful.
WINTER 08
AUSTRIA Supp 11 Unit 10 Build 1 = Build A Vie
ENGLAND Supp 10 Unit 8 Build 2 = NBR
FRANCE Supp 1 Unit 3 Remove 2 Civil Disorder - default disbands are F Lyo & A Bur
GERMANY Supp 0 Unit 1 Remove 1 A Rhu = Eliminated
ITALY Supp 10 Unit 9 Build 1 - PRELIM = Army in ROM
RUSSIA Supp 1 Unit 2 Remove 1
TURKEY Supp 1 Unit 1 / Civil Disorder
Spring 1909 is due to me no later than 3pm GMT next Tuesday.
Kind regards

dc130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ .Map file correction - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
I thought we found all these things already? Now two pop up.
The connection between Kiel and Bavaria wasn't in place. That has been
fixed, so the .map file is changed again. It's dated February 29, 2008
- anything else is the wrong file.
That means Austria's move A Kie-Bav was valid, so Austria has A Bavaria
and Kiel is vacant. The Summer 1845 map will show that correction with
the retreats.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
All open emails regarding this game are also copied to the Diplomatic
Corps into the games section of the forum AND the games page among the

dc151 w08 builds! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Easy turn, only 1 order to process! Germany recruits a new army in Kiel.
Now the vote is officially proposed, for the GR win. I have orders and votes from some already, if at any time I have 4 yes votes, I’ll call the game a draw!
Otherwise I would suggest you turn in a spring set for Monday, just in case it doesn’t pass.
Enjoy,

dc151 s09 Game End! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
DC151 GAME END: 2-WAY DRAW, GERMANY-RUSSIA!
I already have a firm yes vote from the remaining 4, and so this game is called a 2-way draw. Because the build happens first, the centers do change hands and France is eliminated… Then the Spring 09 turn the draw becomes official.
Congrats to Paul & Will for the draw, to Italy for managing the 3 sc despite some rough times, and most of all to England who was able to eek out a survival after being reduced to 1 center way back in 03 – then hang in there 5 more years.
EGS (End-Game-Statements) are welcome, and encouraged from all players! Copy the group, and the blitz address.
Final standings and round 1 scores:
Russia: Draw – 16.7 points
Germany: Draw – 16.3 points
Italy: Survival – 4.3 points
England – Survival – 4.1 points
France – Eliminated – 2 points
Turkey – Eliminated – 2 points
Austria – Eliminated – 2 points
Hope it was fun! If you have not already, CONFIRM TO ME either on the website, or via email, that you are in for round 2 – we need an accurate player count to prep the pairings.
Enjoy,

DC161 Knights Who Say Ni! - Spring 825 - Whither C... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
"Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?"
Yup! Knight Who Say Ni blasts off to a Spring 825 start, coconuts a-blazing. Skaggarak witnesses a clash as both the Danes and the Norse make for its strategic waters. The Swedes move south, the Bretons move to the middle and the Gaels just pinwheel in either direction. Definitely an interesting beginning.
No retreats are required which means we'll move into the Fall of 825. Orders will be due in about a weeks time, on Thursday, March 6th (11:59 PM GMT).
Please just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers gang,

Greetings to all, yet again....
Mike just pointed out to me that I must have had my head on backwards....or something like that!
I made a mistake on the due date for the Spring 1901 moves. I did not intend them to be due in three days! I meant to give you 10 days for this first round.
So the correct and now corrected due date for Spring 1901 moves for dc163 is.....
Monday 10 MARCH 2008 at 6pm EST.
Of course moves will be accepted before that time...lol.

Well this was an odd one for me.
From the start it looked like I had a strong coalition to take a very rude and arrogant France out of the game very quickly.
But Germany decided to go his own way and stabbed me very early.
I can only think his guilt and my offer of my strategic advice (and Russia 's support) convinced him to leave me in the game.
Thanks to all but one for a good game, and Thak you Mike for another smoothly run game.
See y'all next round....

DC161 Knights Who Say Ni! - Spring 825 Map Error - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hi folks,
Slight map error from the Spring 825 turn. Anglo-Saxons ordered their army to Surry (Sur) but your boggle-minded GM sent the army to Sussex (Sus) on the RP file. The corrected map and .dpy file are attached. My apologies for any confusion, and thanks to the players who caught the error.
Cheers,

If I was that veteran GM Micheal Boutot (correct spelling please), I'd think of a clever song to describe this turn..maybe "Staying Alive" or better "I used to lover, had to kill her" from GnR if Austria is indeed stabbing out of school...but I'm not Micheal so I'll keep it simple:
Get me you retreats and Builds ASAP...I know I know, we're a day late but winding down {mostly} on schedule.

Not much movement on the map with the Spring 07 moves. Turkey takes Tyrolia and England moves back into Holland - other than that things remain pretty steady. We have a four-way draw proposal on the board - between England, France, Russia and Turkey.
Deadline for the Fall 1907 moves, as well as your yay or nay vote for the EFRT draw, will be set for Tuesday, March 4th (11:59 PM GMT). Please note that Fall moves ARE required - but if all surviving powers agree to the draw then the game will end before the turn is adjudicated. ALL powers must vote yes for the draw to suceed - including Italy and Austria. Failure to vote will count as a nay.
Thanks for the patience everyone while we gathered the Spring moves. Cheers!

Hey guys, apologies for the couple of days delay with the Winter results. As it is, we find ourselves still short one set of orders and thus, Turkey waives their build. The other adjustments see England disband in Yorkshire and Russia build in St. Petes north.
Deadline for Spring 1907 orders will be set for Wednesday, March 5th (11:59 PM GMT.) Cheers!

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Spring 2005 - A L... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The eternal sage, master of fortune cookies, tells us: Do not follow the instructions of this fortune
Huh?
In any case, few instructions appear to be followed in the Spring, as a clinical turn results from all of your orders. Cuba and Mexico combine to destroy the sole remaining Peruvian army, Quebec gets some back in Nova Scotia and for once, little happens in the middle of the map. Sole retreat was the automatic disband from Peru in Cali, with nowhere to fall back to it was erased from the map.
Deadline for Fall 2005 orders will be set for just under a weeks time - for Thursday, March 6th (11:59 PM GMT). Let me know if you spot any errors or have any questions.
Cheers!
