Yeah I think the only way this will end is with a EGI draw and a Turkey survival...I've proposed and voted for that draw a couple times, and I do so again. Everyone? Shall we call this? Turkey has played an admirable game, I don't see a reason to play it till the death.

DC129 - Fall 07 Missing Orders - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Heya folks,
Well. Since I haven't gotten the Fall 1907 adjudication out yet, I think you all might have already guessed that we have missing orders. Unfortunately, last night, I was short three whole sets. I have since received two of the strays and am hoping to gather the third shortly. If necessary, we will move to a grace period.
Since something similar happened in the Spring turn as well, I can only guess that because the draw proposal was out there that players assumed they did not have to get orders in. This is an incorrect assumption. Orders always need to be submitted in the event that a draw proposal fails.
As this one did. The E/F/R/T draw proposal was shot down and as soon as our final set of orders comes in, the carnage will continue. =P
Cheers everyone!

DC140 "Never Ending Story" winter 1904 r... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
A mix of armies and fleets joins the fray, with Russia's timely build in Moscow potentially saving Sevastopol from a Turkish invasion. Meanwhile, Germany vacates the recently captured Vienna.
Spring 1905 orders will be due next Tuesday 3/11 at 3pm Central Daylight Time (US). The US and Canada switch to daylight time this weekend, so for those of you located elsewhere, that may change the deadline by an hour in your local time.

DC143 winter 1901 results - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Winter 1901 arrives, and plenty of new units join the fray. France adds two fleets, while England builds one fleet. All other builds are fresh armies. Turkey fails to submit orders, and as a result of his NBR, his build is waived.
In accordance with Andy's house rules on NMRs and Civil Disorder, both Italy and Turkey are at risk of slipping into CD this season. Following their fall 1901 NMRs, each of them must submit spring 1902 orders to stay in the game.
The spring 1902 deadline will be next Tuesday 3/11. I'll stick with Andy's "end of the day GMT" deadline, which for me is after I leave work for the day, so you actually have a bit of a grace period. I'll adjudicate the turn on Wednesday around 9:00 AM Central Daylight Time (the US and Canada switch to Daylight Saving Time this weekend), which I believe translates into 15:00 GMT. If you send orders before then, I'll still accept them. I strongly encourage players to send preliminary orders, and to indicate a version number along with the game number, country, and season in the e-mail header. Thanks, everyone!

dc133 To Heir is Over! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Dc133 (To Heir Is Human) officially ends in the Winter of 08, with a 3-Way-Draw between England, Germany, and Italy!
Standings:
Tied 1st: England (Andrew)
Tied 1st: Germany (Laurens)
Tied 1st: Italy (Dom)
4th: Turkey (Dan), 4-SC Survival
5th: Russia (Will), Eliminated 07
6th: France (Alex): Eliminated 06
7th: Austria (Gaius): Civil Disorder 05
Congrats to all - especially the final trio! Hope to see you in another game soon, and if any of you are interested in trying on the GM hat let me know... we always need willing souls to run games -- it's probly a lot less effort than you think. Hopefully everyone will have some thoughts to put into an EGS (end-game statement) and send to the group. Just to share all the dirt that's transpired throughout.
A fast game, only 120 days, a bit under 4 months... Keeping to our quick pace that we set early on, it was only 15 days per year... whereas most games tend to run about 20+ days per year. What's your take on the quicker pace?
Enjoy!

Dear players of dc157
Travis McCrea is out as Turkey. My apologies to him and to those who may have been finding an ally in him. My reasons are many but mainly have to due with unreliability and unfamiliarity with the game of Diplomacy. I have encouraged him to study the rules and then some time in the future maybe try this again.
Now let us welcome Jerron Osmar. (aka Viceroyd(at)hotmail.com (Viceroyd(at)hotmail.com)). Jerren has agreed to step in to the leadership of Turkey. He will be sending me his build for the winter of 1901 and at that point I will set the date for Spring 1902 moves to be due. (about 1 week as usual).

a well played game; an early assaulted Russia is a tough boat to stop
from sinking. Elsewhere, the final neutral is finally claimed as the
Germans cement their rule in Holland, the Italians assimilate Spain yet
leave Portugal under French rule, and a large battle for the
Mid-Atlantic is won by the Italians thanks to support from the French.
Shawn, I normally remove eliminated players from the email list for a
given game; let me know if you want to be kept on. Note that either way
you will receive the final end of game adjudication when the game ends.
The only retreat is the French army from Ruh, and it's only available to
retreat is Bur, so I have auto-retreated it. Paul, if you wish to
disband it instead you can do so in the winter since you are due a
disband anyways.
Winter 1904 is due on Friday at 9 pm eastern. Adjustments due are
listed at the bottom of the adjudication. Remember no grace periods on
adjustments!
Lastly, I will be out of town next week and it is very unlikely I will
have any internet access at all. So just as a heads up, I will send out
the Winter results on Friday night or Saturday morning, and the next
deadline will not be until Monday the 17th.

Dc132 - French Grace period - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
I cannot locate France's moves.
Therefore we are starting France's grace period (leaving England and Turkey as the only countries with remaining grace periods).
I will adjudicate as soon as I have France's moves or 23 hours have passed (Friday March 7th)

dc133 To Heir is Over! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Heh, nice job Andrew and Dom. It was fun playing with you guys, and with the others too. Mike, thanks for GMing.
I think Germany and England built up a nice relation based on trust. I don't know if it had anything to do with me playing for the first time, but it worked out very well. France kept fighting till the end, and so did Russia. I liked the fast pace, but when I joined another diplomacy game in the meantime (where I'm now dead) it was becoming a bit too much for me, though I gave priority to this game.
Although I liked this game, I'm not sure if I'm going to play more diplomacy games. As you might know, I played a lot of mafia games, which are comparable with diplomacy because it's based on discussion too, and it takes almost as long as these games (the larger ones, that is). And I like playing mafia more, also because I find it easier to discuss things on a forum and not via email. If I'm going to play diplomacy again: see you next time. Else: it was nice playing with you.

Enjoy!
