DC161 Knights Who Say Ni! - Fall 825 - Whizzo Butt... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Yes, mothers, new improved Whizzo butter containing 10% more or less is absolutely indistinguishable from a dead crab.

---------------------------------------------------

Some interesting occurrences in Fall 825 as the Swedes lend a hand to the Norse and the Bretons to the Scots. Meanwhile the Anglo Saxons look to the south and the Gaels take Cornwall.

No retreats required - we move right along into Winter 825.. Deadline for Winter adjustments will be set for Sunday, March 9th (11:59 PM GMT).

Just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers gang!

RE : dc148 Fall '09 results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
End of game guys.
France will do a solo in 1910.
We may vote for that and gain 1 year of move that have
no utility.

I would say well played to france, but i can't.
With England NMR with 4 center since 1902, and Germany
NMR when he's all his army to block myself and
centers opening for the french solo, this game will
let me a bad taste.

Good continuation to France, Italy and Turkey who
played seriously.

Sorry for the Stab, Turkey, but i thinked that was the
best way to go to the solo.
My big error in this game.

Bonaccorso.

DC129 - Official Turkish Grace Period - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I truly apologize, for the lateness of my orders. I have been working
an average of 14 hours a day all week & I just got word that my
youngest has been diagnosed with MRSA, my daughter had surgery, and my
students seem to want me reign holy terror down upon them. Following
this email will be my orders if I'm not already replaced.

Again I apologize,

Tory

a replacement.

Stormtrooper: "These arent the droids we're looking for"
Obi-Wan: "He can go about his business"
Stormtrooper: "You can go about your business"
Obi-Wan: "Move along"
Stormtrooper: "Move along, move along"

And so we have it folks, David pulls out the Jedi mind control, and France and Italy wave him on thru to a massive 20-sc solo victory, gaining 6 sc in one turn!

Quite possibly one of the fastest wins of all time, this game ends in a solo in only 5 years!

Congratulations to David, for his first win in his first game in dc. I hope to see you all in another soon! If any of you are interested in GM'ing, be sure to inquire... it's a lot of fun, especially when you get down to a committed group.

EGS (End-Game-Statements) are encouraged from all, especially given the odd turn of events in this final year... looking at it from a birds-eye-view, it seems as tho France and Italy could have stopped Russia here... Italy could have bounced 3 of the gains, and France could have supported Mun and taken Kiel for another 2, keeping Russia to only 15. Wouldn't that lead to a 3-way draw? No telling... but those last couple centers are always the hardest to get!

So do share your thoughts... and see you all next time!
Enjoy,
-mike

DC152 (wb0817) - Winter 1909 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hey folks,

I unfortunately couldn't find any orders from Turkey. Spencer, if you have a confirmation from me then please forward it my way and I'll correct the Winter turn.

We move on into the Spring of 1910. Just like to remind everyone that unless this game draws to a close this game-year, the standings from Winter 1910 will be utilized to determine your board placement in the second round. However, your final score for the first round will not be finalized until this game is complete.

Cheers all. Please just give me a shout if you spot an error.

Please let me know if you spot any errors. Deadline for Spring 1870 orders will be set for Wednesday, March 12th (11:59 PM GMT). Which, of course, means that one or more 'NO' votes for the proposed DIAS were received - we play on!

DC129 In Rainbows - Fall 1907 - Scatterbrain - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I'm walking out in a force ten gale
Birds thrown around, bullets for hail
The roof is pulling off by its fingernails
Your voice is rattlin' on my window sill
Yesterday's headlines blown by the wind
Yesterday's people end up scatterbrain

-------------------------------------

Hey all,

At last, all orders are in and Fall 1907 swings into action. The lyrics must describe how Germany feels as England shows up for dinner. Meanwhile, France bars the door to Turkey in Venice even as Turkey bars the door for France in Naples. The friction down south lights up the night.

The proposed DIAS fails. Onwards we travel. =)

No retreats after the Fall moves, although the German army in Kiel and the Russian in Finland implode off the board. Deadline for Winter 1907 adjustments is set for Monday, March 10th (11:59 PM GMT). I will, however, adjudicate early if I receive both sets in and marked FINAL.

Just let me know if you spot any mistakes - like the map I sent out in Spring that showed the Russian army in Prussia rather than Livonia.. (Sorry guys...) Cheers!

Dc142 - Grace period started Italy / France - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dc142

I have No disbands for France and no build for Italy. However this is Italy's first missed deadline so he has a grace period to use up. France on the otherhand, is riding Italy's coat tails Smile

I am waiting for France's 3 disbands and Italy's one build

I will adjudicate as soon as i have Italy's build OR 24 hours have passed whichever comes sooner.

Any player, including France, can submit changes during this time.

dc144 End Game. - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Greetings to All,

Let me start by saying something I am sure we all feel and that is: THANK YOU MIKE! Thank you not only for your work as our gamemaster, but for your dedication to Diplomacticcorp.

Next, Thank you to all of us who played. I enjoyed talking with you, trying to think like you, and generally getting to know a small side of you.

I have to say that with out Italy's Greg, I would not have done nearly as well as I did. I learned a lot from him and we developed an amazing relationship, nothing like I have ever seen in Diplomacy. Unfortunately for Greg, his trust and commitment to our cause was just a bit stronger than mine. I found myself in a position to win a solo and I took it, despite the loss to my friend. Greg I am sorry.

I look forward to seeing any or all of you again in the future!

Sincerely,

David Ellsworth

DC153 Winter 1904 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Finally the fleet madness stops, with armies raised and fleets disbanded
by almost all parties. The lone exception is Turkey, who NBR's and thus
will have to survive 1905 on his current 4 units.

As previously mentioned I am leaving town tomorrow and will not return
for a week, so the deadline for Spring 1905 is Monday, March 17, at 9 pm
eastern. Also note that this means that there will be no reminder
email, so don't be counting on it - send prelims in ASAP.

Matt

Adjustments:

Austria: Build A Vie

England: Build A Lon

France: Disband F Gas

Germany: Build A Ber

Italy: Build A Ven

Turkey: NBR
