RE005 gunboat game and AUSTRIA - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
In Engineer Diplomacy the Austrian position is precarious with the increased strength of Russia and Italy. If a player would like to take this position he may chose A Tri or (N)avy Tri in Winter 1900.

The game can be run with just six players and a madman Austria.
As we are close to starting, if you want in please go to OPEN GAMES and sign up now.

All,
Updated map after the builds. Orders still due Thursday unless someone has a problem with that. Sorry for the delay...had an issue with some of the builds.

.ExternalClass .EC_hmmessage P{padding:0px;}.ExternalClass EC_body.hmmessage{font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;} So, after deliberation, we will carry on.

A bit of housekeeping: I was incorrect below where I said that Peter could
retreat to NTH. He could not - that was where Bel was attacked from. That said, he has two options still - disband [by saying no retreat ordered] which would allow him to rebuild the unit in a home center or to retreat to Pic. I will take his retreat order first so if it affects your builds then please let me know. The Russian removal will be named when I get build orders but they will have one unit removed [following standard rules for a country in anarchy].

The following are build orders due:

Germany - one or two depending on his choice for retreat [Peter, I will accept a change in your previous submission if you wish given all that has happened]

Turkey - two builds

England - two builds

Let's shoot for this:

Build deadline - Thursday November 29th 5pm CST
Next turn deadline - Thursday December 6th 5pm CST

I will send out results from the retreat/builds either Thursday night [or sooner if I receive FINAL orders for retreat/builds].

Thanks for staying strong to Bob, Eric, Peter and Nick.

Brace yourselves for a fun finale.

No probs Cory,

It's possible I have mentioned 'prelims' before. Preliminary orders can prove invaluable at preventing such mishaps. Sometimes they may involve orders that you might have changed given time - but some orders are better than no orders right?

..well - most of the time Smile and you can always send as many updates as you like. It also means I don't feel the need to send out a million reminders. Curse my nervous hide.

DC132:: DABBLE:: UPDATE!! NEW GERMAN KAISAR - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Greetings!
Given that we have not heard
from the German player and that
a majority of players have not heard from
him in over a week, I am going to replace
him before he NMR's to keep the integrity
and pace of the
game going.

As such, the deadline for Fall 1902 will
be set for this coming Monday
December 10th 23.59 EDT GMT-5

If all players mark FINAL on their orders
I will adjudicate as I have already received
orders from most of you.

I know this game has been delayed and I appreciate
your patience but with the new Kaisar, it will
prove to be most enjoyable for all!!

We welcome the new Kaisar....

DC121 Winter 1907 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Ok guys I know it was a semi-short deadline to Monday, so I waited
almost another full day before publishing results, but now I have to go
despite two NAR's (no adjustments received). Remember by my house rules
there are no granted extensions on adjustments and retreats, only on
spring and fall turns. Thus England forfeits his build (although should
he retain his sc count he will be allowed to build next winter) and
Italy is forced to auto-disband F Ion as it is his only non-sc, non-home
territory unit.

So as promised we move on to Spring 1908! Due this Friday, Dec. 7, at 9
pm eastern. Again it's a bit short but remember I'll always grant
extensions to those who ask just a measly 24 hours in advance!

Matt

Adjustments:

Austria: Build A Bud

England: No Build Received

France: Even

Germany: Disband F Pic

Italy: Auto-Disband F Ion

Dc115 Winter 1906 Information. - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dc115 Current Standings

For a SOLO win, a player must bring both his countries to a combined total of 20 SC.

1st: Mike Hofmann 17 SC
1st: Derek 17 SC
3rd: Felix 13 SC
4th: Daniel 10 SC
5th: Mikael 7 SC
6th: Jason 4 SC.
7th: Josh - Eliminated.
8th: Zach - Abandonment

For a JOINT win, a country must achieve 14 SC.

1st: Italy 11 SC
2nd: France 7 SC
3rd: Germany and Russia 6 SC
5th: Turkey 4 SC.

Just in case anyone is wondering, a SOLO win will out rank a joint win if they are both acheived on the same turn. In that situation, the solo win will be granted and the joint win discounted.

Imperial 1840 needs a player - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Imperial 1840 is a 9 player global dip variant.

Our French player seems to have real-life interfering with his hobby, and since we can't have hobbies without real-life, we'll giving him a leave-of-absence in order to keep things moving.

That means we need a player to take the reins of government for the empire of France.

This is the first test game of a new variant and we have smoothly moved through two full years of play and stand at Winter adjustments for 1841. A new player will take over a France with strong potential in a still developing situation.

The RP files are available at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/rp-imperial1840.zip
DPY file, maps, and the history of this game so far are at:

dc109 f212 - It's about time... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
... those darn Germans invented beer already for a round is surely in order as the Germanic hordes manage a build, supported by Gaul.

Scythians are dislodged from Iaz, retreated to Dac automatically.
Gaul is dislodged from TYS, retreated to Cor automatically.

Rome is officially eliminated after 18 seasons as reincarnation attempts fail. Perhaps a few more offerings may have tipped the scales! 5 players remain.

**************************************

Germania: Build 1
Gaul: Build 2

Scythia may build 1 if disbanding Iaz instead.

Builds due Friday 12/7, 2pm Pacific!

* A 4-way Egypt, Gaul, Persia, Scythia draw is proposed, votes will be taken with Spring orders. 5 yes votes required to pass. (If this is passed, Germania is not part of the draw and gets credited w a Survival)

Enjoy,
-mike
