DC129 In Rainbows - Winter 1903 - Videotape - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
When Mephistopheles is just beneath
And he's reaching up to grab me
This is one for the good days
And I have it all here
In red blue green
---------------------------------------
Hey DC129'ers.. Apologies for the adjudication coming out a few hours early. With the whole family here for the holidays, I need to grab dip-time when it presents itself.. =)
As it sits, all winter orders are in. The central powers say goodbye to their respective fleets, England sees fit to build on in Edinburgh and Italy in Rome, and Russia drafts a legion of Cossacks in Warsaw.
Hope everyone had a great holiday. We're on a roll again though, and this one is just heating up. =) Deadline for Spring 1904 orders will be set for Thursday, January 3rd (11:59 PM GMT).
And for those who haven't already signed up - don't forget the Winter Blitz.. Beginning on the 3rd, this fast-paced tournament will literally blow you away. Check out the information on the Winter Blitz page on the website < www.diplomaticcorp.com> .
Cheers!

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Winter 2001 - Fri... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The groovy seer of the stars, the Magic 8-Ball, when asked about Winter 2001: "My Sources Say No."
However, my sources say yes. Yes to all the build requests. Armies and fleets spring up around the board, and though the distribution seems oddly tilted to the Atlantic coast, the crowds on the Pacific beaches still seem quite large.
Which brings us to our Cuban problem. As Felix's father has just passed, he has been required to withdraw from the game. I'd like to set a tentative Spring 2002 deadline for Thursday, January 3rd (11:59 PM GMT). We already have a line on a possible replacement, so this might be very doable. However, keep in mind that it may get pushed back if necessary to give any replacement time to meet and greet all of you.. =P
And, of course, please don't forget about the Winter Blitz which is still taking on new players. This fast-paced tournament, DC's very own, should blow your socks off. Do yourself a favour and check out the info on the web-page < www.diplomaticcorp.com>
Cheers folks!

Hey folks. Everyone shows some fleet-lovin in the Winter of 02 with the exception of Russia who builds an army in Moscow. Otherwise we see fleets spring up in Edinburgh, Brest, Marseilles, Rome, Smyrna and Kiel. With the Village People singing In The Navy, we put on our sailor outfits and ship off into the Spring of 1902.
Orders will be due in just under a week, on Wednesday, January 2nd (11:59 PM GMT.) Hopefully we all will have recovered from New Years by then. =)
Also - please don't forget about the Winter Blitz tournament that kicks off at DC next week. This fast-paced speedy tourney will blow your socks off. Be sure to drop by the website < www.diplomaticcorp.com> and check it out if you haven't done so already. =)

A correction!
The Spanish fleet in Montevedeo (MVD) move to Rio de Platt (RDP) should have been successful. This has been corrected. There's a new .map file to update RP available at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/Imperial1840/imperial1840.map

Well
Not a great start to this EXPRESS game, but i am in a busy yet forgiving mood.
I do not have a confirmation or a disband from :-
France
France has 24 hours to submit a disband or suffer a NBR.
This will result in an automatic disband for france, as chosen by the realpolitik programme.

dc133 f03 results! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hello Diplomats --
This broadcast is to clarify Turkey's position with Austria so that no doubts will remain in the public domain. Despite the Archduke's desire to create confusion in the Southeast, Turkey considers herself in a state of war with Austria. Moreover, Turkey supports the efforts of her good ally Russia to hold off the Austrian, and Turkey supports her good friend Italy in that country's efforts to forestall the Austrian's misguided aggression in the Adriatic and southern Mediterranian.
Moves submitted by Austria -- such as the support for Turkey's AEG fleet into Bulgaria last round -- are simply an attempt to create disharmony and suspicion between Russia, Italy, and Turkey. The Sultanate remains committed to friendship and alliance with the Russian and the Italian governments in order to see through to the end the destruction of the Austrian state.
If this broadcast seems in any way ambiguous to any recipient, please contact Turkey and I will be glad to answer by broadcast any remaining issue.
-- Mustard.

DC 135: F&L Fall 03 RESULTS! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
GERMANY FALLS!
With unrelenting assault from all sides Germany was crushed this Fall as the French army rolled into Munich ensuring their defeat. It is hard to say what will happen in that region now that the forces of Russia, France, and England no longer have a combined foe to face. Ultimately it will play out with behind the scenes negotiations as always. Austria, on the other hand, appears to have taken a vacation. Troops were baffled as they waited for marching orders that never came. And in a final note Italy is now facing pressure in the Mediterranean as Turkish and French fleets converge on the peninsula.
ITALY's Fleet in ION can retreat to EAS, ADR, or APU. Please get this result to me by SUNDAY. Germany's Troop in Mun can retreat only to SIL, but really it is a moot point at this juncture.
As soon as I receive retreat orders from Italy I will issue a build deadline and a revised map.

Subject: FW: DC Winter Blitz - last week!
That’s right it’s your last week to join the 1st Annual DC Winter Blitz!
www.diplomaticcorp.com/winterblitz
This will be the first tournament dc has hosted, and so far it’s looking like a doosey… 4 boards full, and entries still accepted thru the end of the year. But if you don’t get in by New Years you’ll miss out!
What is a Winter Blitz?
It’s a BLITZ tournament, 2 rounds of Diplomacy (one after the other), played to the schedule of an entire game year per week.
With deadlines on Monday and Thursday (for every spring and fall) it’s sure to be full of action and never slow.
Round 1 complete in about 3 months, round 2 complete by summer, when the $200 prize fun will be awarded!
How do I join?
Sign in to the www.diplomaticcorp.com site with your regular login and password.
Visit the Winter Blitz page (big white and blue banner).
Follow the “Sign Up” link.
That’s it! -- If you have any trouble joining, let me know.
Once you’re signed up, be sure to switch your entry status to “Confirmed” on the Roster page.
Thank you,
The DC Team

holiday reminder - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Just a reminder as we come down from our holiday highs, that 109 (ancient world) and 118 (dark side) are both running over the WEEKEND, Sunday 2pm Pacific. This is a rare weekend deadline, to get them out of the way before the New Years parties.
Enjoy,

Spring 1901 results - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The official kickoff:
Pretty friendly openings all around, I'd say. You guys are aware this is a game of lying, deciet, back stabs and deception, right?? Alright, as long as we're clear!
Little bit of a delay. I tried to Adjudicate early but didn't recieve all sets as "final" and couldn't adjudicate on Monday, more was happening then I anticipated, so I had to wait for a more suiting time to kick off. Now that we're official, the game is really going to move, so keep your negotiations going, cheap and peppy style. And have fun!!

Here are the resutls for fall 1906. I'm sorry I didn't get these to you days ago, but I've been laid up in bed with some sort of stomach bug.
I encourage you all to double check the your orders for this round. I'm still not feeling great, and while I don't belive I've made any mistakes, it's best to double check just in case.

Sorry for the delay everyone. This time of year is tumultuous for all of us, I know.
