Replacement England? - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Right now, I am a new player on the site playing in another game. I've talked to my GM about playing in other games, and he's alright with it, as long as I get permission from the GM who's game I want to join. Would it be alright if I joined this game as England?

dc163 Fall 1905 results. - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I have been swamped, but I still don't have winter builds and disbands for France, England, and Turkey. I am not sure when I can get back to this again, but after 24 hours or 8pm EST Tuesday 24 June, I will consider any missing orders NMR.

DC172 - Spring 1604 - Spanish Order Correction - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi everyone,

Looks like I missed one small order change from Spain when adjudicating the Spring 1604 turn. Spain moved his fleet in Egypt to the Eastern Mediterranean. I will issue a revised map tomorrow morning.

Apologies for any confusion. Cheers,

DC176 - Fall 1905 - Adjudication - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Fall 1905: units are bouncing all around Europe.
Had this been Mexico, everyone would be blaming those kidney beans.
Well, I shouldn't be joking. This is really serious and deserves our attention: so many battles fought and so few winners.

Were all these efforts in vain? Perhaps there is there a lesson to be learned?

DC135 Fear & Loathing - Spring 1910 - Combinat... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Heya folks,

The DIAS draw is loudly shouted down and we foray onwards. Into the dangerous times of Spring 1910 - where there is much action and minor movement. England takes to the brown cafes in Amsterdam, France takes a trip to survey the Emerald Isle and Turkey goes for a dog-paddle in the Aegean Sea. With no retreats required, we'll move directly to Fall 1910. Deadline will be set for Saturday, June 28th (11:59 PM GMT).

Please let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers!

French communications blockade - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
As a result of the German invasion of Paris, French diplomatic communications will be erratic at best during the Spring 1905 season. We hope to restore alternate communications routes by the Fall. In the meantime, we encourage other rulers who wish to communicate with Le President to allow more time than usual for interpretation and response.

[Translation: As a result of his attendance at the Origins Game Fair, Brian's access to email will be erratic at best for the remainder of the week. I will generally be able to read and reply to email, but there may be more than usual delays before I do so. Any plans, threats, declarations of surrender, etc., should be sent sooner rather than later this week if possible to ensure that they are given appropriate consideration. Thanks!]

Best,

Brian/France

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Summer 2011 - It'... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Despite the falling-back nature of the turn, our fortune cookie for this round is surprisingly upbeat: You will receive a fortune. (cookie)

Of course, it could just have been written by a bloke with an all-too-literal sense of humour. =P

In any event, Manitoba, San Francisco and the Mid Atlantic are the fall-back positions for BC and California. Which means we move forwards into the Fall of 2011. Deadline will be set for Saturday, June 28th (11:59 PM GMT). After this, we will try to squeeze the winter adjustments in - but please note that one of our company will be on vacation from July 2nd to July 16th. The Spring 2012 turn will most likely be scheduled for a couple days after the middle of the month.

GGS 1264 / DC110 - Late Retreat and Other Notes - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Heya folks,

We find ourselves short one retreat here for the Summer turn - the player in question has been notified in a seperate email and I hope to receive the order shortly. In the meantime, a couple notes for your attention:

- I misentered one Chinese order for the Spring turn. This was the army in Tibet, which was ordered to Kashgar, NOT Kashmir. This results in a bounce with Holland, and the disbanding of the Dutch army in Karachi. I will issue a revised map tomorrow as soon as I can steal a few minutes from work.

- A couple of our players will be on vacation during the next couple of weeks - the net result being a slight game pause between the dates of June 28th to July 12th. We will progress the game as far as possible before this time - hopefuly achieving a quick Fall turn. I will let you all know with the Summer retreats adjudication.

That's it for now. Cheers everyone!

DC191 A Study In Baltic - Winter 1901 - The Red-He... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
As Holmes and Watson discussed the happenings in the Baltic, adverts were put in all the major European papers. Pictures of red-capped sailors smiling and at work headlined the ad, while below the caption extolled the reader to join the 'Red-Headed League' and sign up for the naval forces...

----------------

Yup - navies are the arms of choice in the winter as Finland is the odd man out in building an Army in Kuopio. All other builds are boats - as the struggle for Baltic waters continues.

PRESS
************

Britons speak,

To Irish,

We recognize your trouble with the Welsh, but are unable to help at this point. However, we will not aid the Welsh against Irish either - I want to stay out of the main island for now.

To Angles,

As much as I would like, I can't right now =/

To Norse & Danes,

As much as I might fight Frisians, they did give me <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSurprisedffice:smarttags" />Fla - and that does count for something. If they kicked me out now though, I won't have much of a choice.

To Frisians,

I appriciate the gift of Fla and I will let it impact this coming season.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSurprisedfficeSurprisedffice" />

******************
To Picts: No problem on Fir, the peace is kept.

To Welch: Please support A Mer - Mid until it's recaptured. Thanks!

- Angles

**********************
Welsh - Can't we just get along? Surely you see that my moves with regard to you are defensive only? Again the attack on Wil is simply to break any support. I know it will once again fail. It appears that you have Irish troubles. Do you really want to fight on both sides? I know you have a lot of armies and all, but wouldn't this be easier if we went our separate ways?

Angles - I only took Mid because I couldn't stop you taking Suf and I couldn't afford for you to have both and be able to then waltz right into my homeland unchecked with support from the Welsh. We have little to gain here. You are about to have Pictish trouble in the north. Can't we call this good? I would really rather build a fleet than an army and then I can be of less threat to you and Wales AND be of some help. As is, I am simply forced to continue to defend the homeland.

All - HELP!!!

**************
Frisians to Danes : The two of us going all out against each other isn't going to end well for anyone but the Norse and the Britions. I am willing to call peace if you are. If you accept the peace let me know during winter and then we can instead plan for our own countries future rather than being tools for the Norse or the Britons.

Frisians to Britons : I would greatly appreciate it if you would be kind and focus you efforts in another direct and not towards my home centers.
***************************
Scots and Picts, work something out or we’ll all die off one by one. How about trade Arg for Cum? Look at the poor Saxons, and imagine you are them in three years.

Brits, if you move to Cel, we’ll order Ker-Cor, and you can choose the convoy or a move to Bri. If your fleet is headed elsewhere, then enjoy smooth sailing.

Ireland
********************************
Angles, I assume you took back Mid. If I lost Wil as a result, then your cutting Sus – next turn, or the one after – will be appreciated.
Saxons, the Angles are my ally. If you make peace with them, you have peace with me.
Irish, as always, I'll take your lead.
-Wales

*********************
Pict's Announcements:

To Scots: I know you don't like I took Arg and want to take it back. True, if Nores attack me, you can take back Arg and eliminate me. But if so, you only get one back, while giving other 4 dots to Nores, you may lose CUM to Welsh, and face the further attack of Nores. If you let me alive, I can be your Wall against the East, and maintain the balance of power in the Norwegian Sea. If possible, I appreciate you to send one fleet to support me against the Nores.

To Nores: I don't think your moves are friendly. If you keep moving West, I will try my best to defend against aggressors.

*************************************
Norse to all. Looking for inspiration as what to do in this game. Only person giving me jip seems to be Picts so if Scots and Angles want some of them then let me know.
Norse to Picts. If you are not after coming this way then indicate it by going away.
********************************
Bounce*)
Frisians to Danes : I will give you Rhe as an offering of peace. After this year lets each head away from each other.
****************************
Danes to Norse: going west as soon as southern local difficulty sorted

Danes to Britons: I look frward to meeting in the lowlands between us.

The unit locations are incorrect, I submitted moves in the fall. You must have used the realpolitik file that included an NMR from me.

Well, then I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board to fix it - and that won't happen today.
