DC 493, Winter 1906 - alwayshunted   (May 09, 2014, 7:05 pm)
Two players have been eliminated this turn, Germany and England.  Failing to submit orders for many years will cause that to happen...... unless you are playing Turkey apparently.

Don't forget to VOTE with your spring orders!! An R/F draw is on the table.

Austria defaulted on his disband order, and RP tried to disband Greece.  I overrode that, it is definitely not the way I learned the rules.  I disbanded the one that is not in an SC, Galicia.  Any objections, let me know.

I'll get the turn resolved at diplomaticcorp later tonight.

Hi gang,

First things first, we have a draw proposed!  A two-way France/Russia draw to be precise. Please vote on this with your Spring 1907 orders.

Until then, on we go.  The usual suspects nmrd this turn.

There are two retreats needed with the winter turn tomorrow, along with any adjustments needed. Please figure out your build/disbands on your own.... thanks.

Russian A Galicia can retreat to Warsaw or OTB.
English A London can retreat to Yorkshire or Wales or OTB.

Turn below, maps attached.

Cheers,

*Life Lessons Learned from Diplomacy!*
Hey all,

Austria flails around like a hapless jellyfish, hoping to snag a center, but with no success. Turkey puts up a great, but ultimately unneeded, defense. The bulk of the action happens in France, where Italy pillages the place with a bit of help from the Germans.
Belgium has only one retreat, so I moved him to Picardy.

Winter is busy this year. Everyone except England has adjustments due.

Austria: -1 (-Gre)
England: even
France: -3 (-lvp, -spa, -mar, - Bel, +disbanded unit Marseilles)
Germany: +2 (+lvp, + Bel)
Italy: +2 (+spa, +mar)
Turkey: +1 (+Gre)

Thanks!

John

DC497 EUROPE 1615 - FRENCH GAMBIT AND OTHER EVENTS - mmedeiros   (May 08, 2014, 1:06 am)
Not with dreams, but with blood and iron shall a nation be molded at last.
- Swinburne

The year is 1615. France would gamble its resources to thrust its sword at the heart of Spain. And what a defense did Spain give, but the gamble proved decisive. With France now holding much of the Iberian, next year's challenge will be for France to successfully hold its newly acquired territories with an overly stretched military. Spain's dissolution has introduced two independent plaint states, Milan and Naples, for the remaining powers to compete over. England's careful observation of the French-Spanish struggle prompted a landing of a contingent in Brittany. With its close alliance with the Dutch and other German states, England holds the lead in score. Yet, this is not the only arena of war. Denmark has made its impression, taking Brandenburg and Livonia to enhance its strength and influence. Austria has made attempts to counter this, but the taking of Slovenia by the Croatians has forces the Austrians to consider a new strategy for the coming year. However, with the Bavarian center in its grip, a resource of wealth and influence, the Austrians can hope still to defend against the Danish onslaught.

Austria had one retreat, Rumania to Budapest.  I took the liberty of running that Fletch, let me know if you want it OTB for some reason.

On to fall, due on Thursday as usual.

Hey all,

Lots of supports and cut supports this season. A few key moves succeed as well.

Got two retreats. French F Spa can go to Lyo, Wes, or OTB. Austrian F Gre can go to Alb or OTB. Get those in ASAP please! If you both mark them final, I may be able to adjudicate early.
