DC 260: F1902R and W1902 - AceRimmer   (Jul 22, 2009, 12:22 pm)
It's a double adjudication! Since nobody put any conditions on their adjustments, I will go ahead and adjudicate both fall and winter. There are no surprises, except that Japanese build in Moscow... I didn't realize he could do that until I double-checked the rules...

Anyway, S1903 is on Tuesday at 1000 CST (1500 GMT).

F1902R

China:
disband A Laos
A Tibet - Chongqing

W1902

China:
Remove F Vietnam

India:
Build F Calcutta
Build A Delhi

Indonesia:
Build F Sumatra

Japan:
Build A Philippines
Build F Honshu

Persia:
Build F Arabia(ec)

Just to let folks know, I'll be away Sturday to Saturday, so if I'm not answering your messages, it's because I'm in southern Germany Wink

See you all when I get back, and hopefully I won't find any nasty surprises waiting for me.

Ross

DC 260: F1902 - AceRimmer   (Jul 20, 2009, 11:57 am)
The Chinese government has collapsed and is now officially reconstituting itself as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. As such, the rest of you won't be hating him for his large population, repressive regime, and under-aged gymnastics competitors. He hopes instead that you will now love him for his tasty noodle dishes. Brian, please send me two retreats sometime in the next 24 hours (i.e. by 1200 CST / 1700 GMT).
Elsewhere, what do we make of the Persian fleet in Bombay? Or the tightening noose around Russia? Or the Japanese smothering of the Yellow Sea? Or of Madagascar's brazen independence? Well, if you're like me, then you'll make war. It's the only way to compel your opponents' respect.
For those of you contemplating Winter adjustments (due on Wednesday), here's the score:

China: Supp 1 Unit 3 Remove 2
India: Supp 8 Unit 6 Build 2
Indonesia: Supp 5 Unit 4 Build 1
Japan: Supp 7 Unit 5 Build 2
Persia: Supp 8 Unit 6 Build 2
Russia: Supp 5 Unit 5 Build 0
Siberia: Supp 5 Unit 5 Build 0

DC 260 Asian: S1902 Adjudication - AceRimmer   (Jul 05, 2009, 12:24 am)
Well, after a couple of delays (some due to my own schedule), we have the adjudication. However, since we have a delay until after the 14th, the additional delays in S1902 shouldn't make much difference. There are no retreats, and since I like to perform Move/Retreat/Adjust all in the same week, I am going to pace us leisurely and set F1902 for Monday, July 20th. As a special incentive, you will be allowed to move units to the moon Smile You just won't be allowed to move them off again in subsequent turns :O

I'd say you're feeling pretty good if you're in the JSPIN Coalition. However, if you're in the less popular CR Coalition, things aren't so hot. What I'm curious to know is: why are the two players who are in DC 258 with me the two guys getting jumped early? Well, I have no worries for their health. Fates in Diplomacy are like the Iowa weather -- it'll be different in another 10 minutes.

Good luck in the Fall.

DC 260: Asian Winter - AceRimmer   (Jun 26, 2009, 11:15 am)
The world becomes more militarized. In a somewhat promising way. I like the looks of this going into S1902.

As noted yesterday, the next deadline will be on Wednesday, July 1 at 10:00 CST (15:00 GMT). Then the summer retreats will be on Thursday. And then... we will have a two-week delay until, I think, the 16th? I'll nail it down at the next adjudication. We've got a player going away for 12 days.

DC 260 Asian: F1901 - AceRimmer   (Jun 25, 2009, 8:07 am)
Rod's orders arrived yesterday evening, but I do my adjudications from my day job, so it waited until the morn. For those of you wondering, the 'consequences' of being late were an NMR on the official DC stats plus (after 24 hours) I reminded Rod that anybody late 72 hours is subject to replacement. Also, if Rod is a repeat offender, he is also subject to replacement. So, that's the heavy treatment. Well, there was also the nun with a ruler whom I sent to Rod's house. As always, the game really relies on your sportsmanship as players, which is usually more than enough I find.

So, now -- like fantasy baseball managers who wonder what transpired whilst they slept -- it's time to check the scoreboard. It appears that India and Persia hit homers last night (3 builds), Russia and Siberia each went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI apiece (2 builds), Indonesia was 1-for-4 with a run (1 build), and Japan stole a base (which used to belong to China). China went 0-for-5 killing your batting average (no builds). In case you're dissatisfied with your team, there are still plenty of free agents who are unclaimed: Egypt, Korea, Madagascar, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Winter adjustments are due tomorrow at 10:00 CST (15:00 GMT). Then, I think I'll set S1902 for next Wednesday at the same time.

A Beijing - Tibet
A Chongqing - Laos

Austrialia looks strangely inviting..... there are nice looking men with walking sticks quietly waiting on the beach. Or are those spears.....

Anyways- about the maps. I don't really ever use the maps. As long as there is a .dpy I'm fine with just that

And they're off! And the losers are? All those neutral countries. Boy, they look to be in for a butt-whoopin' for sure! Personally, I thought Turkey would put up more of a fight, but I guess I was wrong. Still, don't underestimate Laos... prepare to get your nose bloodied if you try to go there, buster!

More seriously... let me know if the map size is too large or if you want province names or... well, whatever. The next deadline (F1901) will be next Tuesday at 1000 CST (1600 GMT). Meanwhile, send prelims.
