DC 257: New Englishman and Updates! - The_Gentleman   (Jul 22, 2009, 9:52 pm)
Hey hey! Here is what I posted on the site:

Russia retreats to Ukraine and Italy retreats to Tyr sea.

So because of the changes and the adjustments we're going to have a deadline that is pushed back a bit. I guess France is away this weekend, so we're going to have to have the next deadline on the 1st of August. Much later than I'd like, but hey, we'll be entering the DIAS allowed years and we should be moving (I have no more vacations planned). So:

Fall moves due Saturday, August 1st by 9am PST

What I failed to mention was that we have a new Englishman. Thus our board looks as such:

MoV: What's up - The_Gentleman   (Jul 20, 2009, 1:02 pm)
Hey guys! I apollogize for the delay and the delay after the delay and the upcoming delay.

Yes, that is right, we're going to have to delay (don't worry, am going to publish more results today!) but Danilo, our Englishman, has come across tragedy and must withdraw from the game. Also, Francis, our Frenchy, will need some delays coming up on this week, so we'll have to push the deadline just a bit in order to accomidate and then we'll really get back on schedule.

I thank everyone for their patience and I am really quiet anxious to see what happens next!

DC 257: Game status - The_Gentleman   (Jul 11, 2009, 2:42 am)
Hey everyone. Sorry for the silence during the week. I have a show opening this coming weekend and usually when I'm in one I don't really focus on anything else. I would if I could but it seems to take all that I've got.

So I am going to put a delay on this game. Hate to do it but I need to. We need to get an official map, which thank you to Francis we nearly have, but I need to make it official. That's not the real reason I'm delaying. I made a stupid mistake in Italy's email.

It is jcard(at)atnex.net (jcard(at)atnex.net) not dot com. So I don't think he's been getting the emails. It is fixed now.

Just to update:

The cast:
Austria: MDemagogue(at)gmail.com (MDemagogue(at)gmail.com)
England: danilobliekthebest(at)hotmail.com (danilobliekthebest(at)hotmail.com)
France: francisbanville12(at)hotmail.com (francisbanville12(at)hotmail.com)
Germany: DiplomacyWorld(at)yahoo.com (DiplomacyWorld(at)yahoo.com)
Italy: jcard(at)atnex.net (jcard(at)atnex.net)
Russia: dindonman5(at)hotmail.com (dindonman5(at)hotmail.com)
Turkey: jmc66(at)mac.com (jmc66(at)mac.com)

Instead of a turn tomorrow I am going to fully update us and set the deadline for what I think will actually be Sunday at 9am instead of Saturday due to the fact that I have a matinee and a late night show on Saturday and will not have time to plug in orders. Thank you to those of you who did submit orders this turn. You'll all get an extended grace period or something if you ever do not have orders as a thanks from me. Razz

See you all in the morning. And remember, even though I am delaying, a full complete of "final" orders will allow an early adjudication.

DC 257: Moors updates - The_Gentleman   (Jul 07, 2009, 12:11 pm)
Hey guys, I'm stuck away from my computer for the week. So I'm going to give an update but I do not have the .DPY to update, so you're going to have to take the initiative. If there is a saint out there who can update and share, that would be great. Otherwise, if it is too much of a problem, we can delay for a week.

Let's tentatively set the next deadline on Saturday at 9 like usual but if this is too much of a challenge, or we can't get an updated look at the map, we may have to delay.

Moors: Builds - The_Gentleman   (Jun 22, 2009, 10:34 am)
Douglas Kent will be replacing Germany. His email is Diplomacyworld (a) yahoo.com

Doug, et al, I am including the .DPY rather than all the maps. It makes everything a bit easier to handle. One player has already expressed confussion. If you do want an image file of the map or are not sure how to handle a .DPY just contact me. If it is not as effective as I thought then we can return to the maps. I just noticed that in games I play I never touch the map files and they take up much more space.

England:
build f liverpool

Italy:
F Nap

Russia:
A Stp;A Sev

Turkey:
build an army in Ank

Next Deadline is the 22nd of this month, which is a Saturday, at 9am PST.

Moors O' Venice: Adjudication - The_Gentleman   (Jun 20, 2009, 1:42 pm)
Hello all.

- Germans tire of inactive leadership.
- Italians take up Germany's stance
- Russia gets an orders break for a change when Turkey misorders.

I was asked to display the orders as received. I think it is redundant to display the orders multiple times, so this will be the new way we'll be doing it.
Also, I am going to stop including map images. If this is a bother, please let me know, but I will be posting it on the website and including the .DPY, which allows you complete access of the mapping software in order to plan your next move.
Finally, apologies for no Friday reminder. I intended to but became "over burdened with self-affairs", as Othello would say.

And, as Iago would say:

O, sir, content you;
I follow him to serve my turn upon him.
We cannot all be masters, nor all masters
Cannot be truly followed. You shall mark
Many a duteous and knee-crooking knave
That, doting on his own obsequious bondage,
Wears out his time, much like his master's ass,
For naught but provender; and when he's old, cashiered.

I wish I thought of this before. It would be fun to lay out the story line of Othello in quotes with each result. Any thoughts on what Iago is talking about here?

On to results! (I was spending time hoping for a word from Germany and Italy, but alas!)

Hey gang,

- Germany continues non-violence protest.
- Russia ignores GM's mercy cry and confuses generals
- Italy plans extended stay in Aphrodite temples

More fun messages: I should have just marked it a misorder. I thought I was maybe being helpful to one who didn't know better. But you did not take my clearly written advice, Russia: "Understand that S is the abbreviation for Supports." This time I marked it invalid. Maybe tough love is right love. My lesson has been learned, and I apollogize to all involved. Smile
Bottom line: this is a game about orders and clarity. If you are lazy with your orders you are lazy in your game play.

F Sevastopol Supports F Rumania - Black Sea (*Void*)
A Ukraine Supports A Galicia

Turkey:

I will seek a replacement Germany who is now counted as a dissenter, abandon-er and drop-er out (put him on the list!)
