RE005 gunboat game and AUSTRIA - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
In Engineer Diplomacy the Austrian position is precarious with the increased strength of Russia and Italy. If a player would like to take this position he may chose A Tri or (N)avy Tri in Winter 1900.

The game can be run with just six players and a madman Austria.
As we are close to starting, if you want in please go to OPEN GAMES and sign up now.

Imperial 1840 needs a player - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Imperial 1840 is a 9 player global dip variant.

Our French player seems to have real-life interfering with his hobby, and since we can't have hobbies without real-life, we'll giving him a leave-of-absence in order to keep things moving.

That means we need a player to take the reins of government for the empire of France.

This is the first test game of a new variant and we have smoothly moved through two full years of play and stand at Winter adjustments for 1841. A new player will take over a France with strong potential in a still developing situation.

The RP files are available at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/rp-imperial1840.zip
DPY file, maps, and the history of this game so far are at:

Hosting a private game on DC - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi!
Having read the above I must ask;
How do I go about GMing a private game through DC, i.e. a game exclusively for my friends?

We have a mix of experienced and novice board-game players, but RL keeps getting in the way for a face-to-face setup.

Regards
Mormegill

GMing on DC - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
GMing a game on DC would be just a little different. Though I think I can safely say that we're always welcome to new folks who'd like to run a game.

There are a few basic guidelines for GM's that we like all those running games to be aware of. (Things to do with game timelines, house rules, etc, etc.)

What to do if you are interested in becoming a GM is to fill out the 'Become A GM' form on the LH side of the webpage. Then Penger will get in touch with you to give you more information.

Cheers!

Map - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi All,

I've just started my first game. Its a standard map but I've noticed that on some online boards, whilst the province boundaries are the same the names vary. Is there anywhere I can get a copy of the standard map so my moves aren't confused?

Many thanx

Andy

what a busy week! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
My apologies in advance to anyone expecting a response from me. It's been busy most of the week here at work, and I have had little time to review my e-mails other than to adjudicate a game I'm running, and even that was a little late. So please don't take my lack of responsiveness as any sign of hostility. I'll be back Monday morning (US Central).

Cory

Maps Links - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi Andy,

Try the Diplomatic Pouch for now:

http://www.diplom.org/Online/maps.html

However, note that we here at DC are working on a DipWiki project - a Wikipedia for all things dip-related. It hasn't been officially rolled out yet, but Mike has put a link to it at the top of the webpage.

Hopefully soon, we can just point you to that link for questions along these lines. *grin*

Cheers!
