Knights of the Companions - Weekend Advancements - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Lords and Ladies of the Charter...

It is my honour to announce the further advancement of two of our numbers. Sir Josh Engsburg has been granted the title of Knight Errant for his stewardship of game DC-101. Also from the same game, and continuing his rampage through the ranks, Sir Mike Sims has been acknowledged with the Order of the Jagged Edge. (A title that I think is entirely suited to Sir Solo-a-rama...) =P

Hearty congratulations to both of our Companions!

Sir Former Trout
Knight Captain of the Companions

Yet more GM's wanted! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Since this last post in early Jan, we’ve launched another 7 games, and our list of eager GM’s has gone dry!
If anyone is interested, let us know! Remember games run by volunteer help only.
Enjoy,
-mike

Hey diplomers…
The next standard game has filled (again) and is in search of a fearless leader!

There are currently 16 GM’s (now 19) running 38 games in the club… if you would like to join the ranks, pls let me know!

Some benefits of being a GM:
* It will improve your play! You will learn how players order, how alliances change, and so on. It will definitely take your Diplomacy game to the next level.
* It only takes about 20 minutes per week to run a turn.
* You’re making it possible for 7 other players to enjoy the game.

You remember your first game, right? You remember the GM, and the commentaries, and when the results came out? Well our next standard is full of 7 anxious and interested new players looking for that person to be their GM!

Especially to those new to the club… we run completely by volunteer help. Anyone can GM a game, just have to speak up.

Once you do, you will most likely get hooked and always want to run a couple while playing in a couple.

Enjoy!
-mike

Youngstown player needed! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Ever wanted to try the Youngstown variant?

Well Alexander is running a great new map of it, all nice and cleaned up, much better than the original – but is short a player for Japan!

Note it’s spring 02, and the poor Japanese empire was previously led by a player that botched the fall 01 moves and quit cuz he got no builds… So it’s an uphill battle, but being only the 2nd year, it would be great to have a noble soul step in to fill the shoes – anyone up for it?

Our Comrade, Felix - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I've recieved a message from Felix. As most of you would know, he had to withdraw from Diplomacy due to personal reasons.

With this message, he asked me to just let you all know he's doing okay and that he is taking a break from both diplomacy, but he did not specify for how long. I suspect, given his love of the game, that he will return someday.

Thanks for taking your time reading this.

Oversight Of The Moderators - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi Clagr,

Attribute this to a lapse of the moderators (i.e. Me.) This will hopefully have this corrected by the end of the day.

Apologies, dude.
