DC203 Galad F02 Results - Retreats Needed Before B... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Russia assailed from all sides and would pay EXCEPT he takes advantage of Austria.
Turkey vaults into the early lead, but not by much.
A Western stalemate going?
Can Austria survive 1903?

All,
ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: when you support another countries F or A to hold OR move you MUST
give the country designation of the unit supported IF it is not your own. It simply ensures that the
GM gets the move right. Thanks for your help.

Several retreats needed this turn before we can proceed with builds:

Russian A(Rum) - can retreat to Ukr, Gal, or OTB
Russian F (Swe) - can retreat to SKA, GoB, Fin, or OTB
Russian F (Sev) - no retreat possible so it is disbanded

If either of these is retreated OTB, Russia can get one/two builds. If BOTH are ordered to retreat
anywhere else, there will be zero builds for Russia.

If others want to submit build orders or removals without seeing those retreats, feel free to do so.

Our deadline for these retreats is Friday, September 12th at 5pm CST [11pm GMT I believe].

DC201 - Autumn 953 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Autumn 953:
- France F Burgos retreats to Bay of Biscay;
- Norge F Sea of England retreats to Lindisfarne
- Independent A Jorsal and A London are disbanded.
Meanwhile the fires over Athinai have been extinguished leaving a sadness looking at the blackened buildings and smoldering barren valleys and hills where once were forests.

At the start of Winter 953 we see that several powers have been able to expand their territory.
Not all powers as much as it may seem due to disbands earlier in the year.
And France: yeah, what to say? In 953 they have fought hard against the attacks from Burgundy, Arab Caliphates and Danes but the war has taken its toll. With the loss of 2 supply centers, their units have troubles finding new resources.

Below the Ownership I have listed the adjustments for Winter 953.
Deadline for W953 is set for Saturday Sep 13 at 23:00 GMT.

Attached are the updated W953 map as well as updated RP files: DPY, BMP and MAP.
Enjoy

DC191 Study In Baltic - Spring 1906 - The Cardboar... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Watson and Holmes found the house deserted when the Hansom Cab arrived, to Watson's great distress. As the Doctor searched high and low for someone to assist them, Holmes studied the cardboard box found on the doorstep. Contained within - two human ears. One was marked 'Riga - Finland', the other 'Minsk - Poland'. The address on the box appeared written in Cyrillic...

--------------------------

Spring 1906 is definitely the season that Russia strikes back. Disbanding the occupying units in both RIga and Minsk, the Russian forces victoriously return to their home centers. Meanwhile, a great race is witnessed along the eastern coast of Sweden.

No retreats are required after the turn so we track our way into Fall 1906. Deadline for orders will be set for Wednesday, September 17th (11:59 PM GMT). Please let me know if you spot any errors with the adjudication.

Cheers!

Trout

Spring 1901 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Revolution is not a dinner party, nor an essay, nor a painting, nor a piece of embroidery; it cannot be advanced softly, gradually, carefully, considerately, respectfully, politely, plainly, and modestly. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another

And there was war, glorious war...

The Brits seek early domination of the Northern Seas while the Italians look to the west...several bounces, but no retreats needed so we move directly to the Fall. Orders will be due in six days on Wednesday, 17 September at 11:59 PM, GMT. Too slow? Get 'em in early and we can move this one along as quickly as you'd like to!

Good luck and best regards!

DC-198 Summer Mayhem Fall 1908 Adjudication - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
All,
Everybody got orders in, though I had a bit of confusion with one set.
For the record, the rulebook states that coastal designations are required in orders when moving in or out of, or supporting a move in or out of, a province with more than one coast. I am usually pretty relaxed about this, but I tend to get a bit uptight when one warning is followed the same day by orders with designations missing.
Also, when submitting a second or subsequent set of orders, I will take that as *the* set of orders for your country. What I mean is this: If you submit version A as a full set, but later submit version B as an incomplete set, I will take B and assume you wanted to hold all the unordered units. I'm sorry guys, but I don't do partial order sets.
Anyway, here it is.

RE006 SE ASIA FULL IT APPEARS - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Whoops fixing one address.

-----Original Message-----

I have to admit the variant was interesting from the start but the
caliber of players that signed up for it is what tipped me into joining.
Can I please start far from Rob? Smile

I mean geez look at the lineup...
We've got:

Trout, professional Dip player, and juggler of 14 games
Jason K, the masterful Cuban from American Empire
Rob, the only guy to solo this variant
Jason4747, old timer, dates way back to dc003 with Vegas and the other
founders
Nick, the guy with NEARLY the fastest solo in dc history
Me, who sucks... ignore me
And Tubby, the underdog... wild card? Sandbagger? Likely winner as we
all bash each other?

Really looking forward to this one.

A real blast from the past seeing old Jason4747 in. Must be 5 yrs at
least since gm'd him. The receipt of prefs or a declination thereof from
each should be the last step. Have heard from "I soloed in the 1 Cat23
game of this (Cat1163 if I recall my game correctly-GM) 3-4 yrs ago "
Rob & the more humble Nick. Would especially like to hear from Jacob as
he signed way back on 8/31 & did not respond to e-mail earlier this
week. Don't ask me game # or how to do anything as no 1 has told me yet.
Once hear from Jacob should be able to officially go. Tight deadlines &
relentless movement of the game forward are the keys.

DC203 Galad F02 Officially on 24 Hr. Grace Period... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
All,
I don't have those yet. If I don't get them within 24 hours, we move on with those units disbanded and move
to the build/remove phase. NOTE: This does NOT count as an NMR for Russia because it is not a normal
turn; however, this will exhaust Andrew's 24 hour grace period "free pass" that I give to each player.

Subject: DC203 Galad F02 Results - Retreats Needed Before Builds/Disbands

.ExternalClass .EC_hmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.EC_hmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;} Russia assailed from all sides and would pay EXCEPT he takes advantage of Austria.

DC196 Heroes And Villains - Spring 1904 - The Prot... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Honk if you love justice!

----------------

Heya there, Heroes...

With apologies to our Sultan, I cannot wait any longer to get the Spring 1904 turn out. Orders were given for a move from Constantinople to Bulgaria, but with no coastal designation specified the move was void. Meanwhile, there's quite a shuffle going on in the center of the board as Austria takes Tyrolia, Russia takes Munich and Germany takes back Berlin...

Just one retreat out of the Spring moves - Italy has two V's to choose from - Venice or Vienna. Deadline for Summer 1904 will be set for Monday, September 15th (11:59 PM GMT).

Please let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers!

DC-198 Situation for a Vote - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Folks,
I've received a formal complaint about the adjudication from Jon (France.) Since I'm involved, and therefore unable to be completely impartial, I am putting it up for a general vote. I'll put the next turn on hold until this is resolved, and require you all to vote by the standing deadline. Here's the situation:

- Jon sent me a full set of orders for his units (missing coastal designations for all moves involving France.) *Order Set 1*
- I informed Jon that orders required coastal designations to be valid IF there was ANY chance of ambiguity.
- Since the original orders were not ambiguous (the unit ordered to Spain could only go to one coast,) I did not require designations at that time.
- Jon sent me clarification anyway, including coastal designations in his orders. *Order Set 1.5*
- Jon later sent me a new set of PARTIAL orders, changing the Spain move to a fleet that could go to either coast but leaving out coastal designations and not specifying if it was a full set of orders or only a revision of the units mentioned *Order Set 2*
- I received the email and responded within 15 minutes, asking for clarification. I received no reply from Jon, and the deadline was about 4 or 5 hours later.
- I sent out the adjudication as you all saw it, and just today received the complaint from Jon.

Here's what I want a vote on:
1. Should I revise the adjudication to accept a full set of orders, including the orders deemed illegal by the lack of coasts? (Jon claims he made his intent clear, even though he subsequently changed his orders.)
2. Should I revise the adjudication to accept a full set of orders, minus the orders deemed illegal (since it's OFFICIAL game rules)?
3. Should the adjudication stand, as Jon did NOT submit a full set of orders for his final revision?

The dealine stands as Tuesday, 16 September at 7am EST (11am GMT.) Have your votes in or I will consider it an NMR.

RE006 SE ASIA GM STUFF - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
To get a map to show, just post a "Winter 00" adjudication. Include a
map to show the default starting map.

Next results should be Spring 01, even tho the game starts in 97. Keep
them in the 01, 02, etc format.

5pm PST is 12midnight GMT, so I would enter that time as 235900, for
23rd hour 59th minute, 00 seconds.

You could enter 000000 for exactly midnight, but then it's the morning
after, not the evening of for the date so that gets confusing.

Message board is set up, it's dc209(at)diplomaticcorp.com. Copy all stuff
for this game to that board. You can access it here:

When I made game active the map went away so did something on
adjudication php to bring it back. Someone in power can change name from
Re006. See if everything otherwise ok. Countries assigned. It bounced me
a couple of times on the time entry ( I am PST) so just skipped that to
get it done. This Fri is the due date I put in - 5Pm PST. 2 wanted
Australia - Nick got it. Rest got what they deserved or more Wink
Wondering if my putting in start yr of 97 as in 1997 causing a problem.
Someone will know if should just change to 01. Good luck!
